Change the Location of Basketball State Championship
soonermajic replied to sackem's topic in High School Sports
What about the Ferrell Center, in Waco? It's pretty centrally located, & I'd imagine Waco would roll out the Red carpet, as opposed to Austin (who doesn't give a #### about HS State tourneys). -
3 really good girls players in this tourney: Tatum's Kaylah Starling Avery's Taylor Bowles (scored about 130 pts) Lipan girl.....actually the Post & the guard. anyone know who all made girls all-tourney?

They have so many great skill athletes. What are they like in basketball? I don't hear a lot about them, come bb season. Kilgore seems to be really good @ hoops. w/ the same type of kids...?

OU hosts highest ranked recruits in Stoops tenure
soonermajic replied to soonermajic's topic in College Football/Sports
13 total 4* & 5* recruits is insane! DT Smallwood is only a 3*, but OU has him rated as the #3 OVERALL DT in the nation. Coaches think he should be a 5*! We already have 5 of those guys committed, & if we get 3/4 more, lookout. This is the single highest ranked group of recruits we have ever had in here (in Stoops tenure). -
This weekend, as OU is set to host TCU, they will also play host to the highest ranked group of recruits in Stoops tenure. Most of the recruits are 4* or 5* guys, & most are also ranked in the top 50 in the NATION! If we sign several of them, & they PAN OUT, then we could realistically be right back in the N.C. game again...maybe in 2 of the next 3 years! Boomer Sooner

Big update on Daylon Mack of Gladewater
soonermajic replied to ColtBarber's topic in High School Sports
The team with the most glaring need @ DT, RIGHT NOW, is OU. I wish this wasn't true...but it is. Don't know if he's interested in teh Sooners, but stud Frosh could come in & start from day one! -
Former Prairiland AD/Football Coach Glen Schuelke...
soonermajic replied to Smoaky's topic in High School Sports
No other State's allow fb coaches to come in & wipe out families & staffs. He will be an asst fb coach there. Idabel fb instantly got better. -

He will have more athletes than he ever dreamed of, in Idabel. ATHLETE factory!!! But, a Lot of discipline issues as well. If they ever decide to do things right in Idabel, LOOKOUT rest of the State. If Glen has the resolve to help see things through there, then there is a big payoff soon! -
Foreman was an OU verbal for a LONG time. He'd rather go some place else, & their coaches wished him all the best. OU did want Leonard & his DT teammate, but both are semingly going elsewhere.... KD would fit perfectly into OU's offense. They have shown to REALLY emphasize the slot (Mark Clayton/Ryan Broyles AA's). KD reminds all the OU coaches of those two AA's.

Shelbyville Hires Rogers DC-Jason Ferguson

Do not worry about practicing bb on bb gamedays. Auxillary lifts & core work can be implemented on thsoe days, as those 2 things should not be left out. If they buy in to that, then the wins will come. They will win by getting to all lose balls, outhustling & outtoughing their opponents. They will also not be beaten on the boards. if the other team can play tough, rebound & defend, however, there may be nights they get beat by 40 +. Don't worry about playoffs in bb, but that means you can get to track season MUCH sooner.... "We Will Win" -
Tenaha Hires Saltillo's Davison for GBB
soonermajic replied to allbig8's topic in High School Sports
GREAT hire & great job by the Supt & TISD. They found the right person for the job. Tenaha is a place that does things right. It is simply the righ thing to do, when concerning girls athletics. I can't stand it when some programs pour everything they ahve into boys sports, or just fb, at the expense of girls athletics. Just like with your athletes...treat everyone the same. I once heard Lou Holtz (sufferin suckatash) say "People who feel good about themselves, produce great results". Tenaha girls hoops is about to explode! See you guys next December...!
