Missed a few more games, but here's what we got for the 'Yotes Game.

Sorry that I missed a couple of games. I was too tied up with the Rangers and work! Here are some post game thoughts for last night.

I'm going to attempt to be more active here this year

The offense will certainly be more potent with Duchene around. I imagine he slots in on the Seguin line, since they really need a playmaker to catalyze that group. The bigger problem here is that the defense isn't any better. Harley was a great add at the end of last season, and hopefully that play carries over to this year. We spent a 1st on Lundkvist for a reason, so he needs to be trusted to play big minutes. Hakanpaa is slow and a liability, as is Suter. It is really going to depend on how much we play those two, and how much we trust Harley and Lundkvist.
Also, Oettinger can't play as many games as he did last year. He was simply worn out by the Vegas series. Wedge has to play at least 25 games this year to give Oetter a break.

Schools--Administrators and politicians making the money--not those on the front lines (teachers)--while you seem to be listening to FOX NEWS nonstop--teachers in Texas have been working IN SCHOOLS since August-During COVID outbreaks and quarantines I have been here at work. Unlike Barry--I don't have personal things that need to be taken care of during the work day--which stinks, because I always think I want a day off--but I'd end up working harder at the house than if I was at the school. LOL.
39th in the nation for average salaries in Texas, and yet we have grandstanding plebs who think vouchers are the way. Their representatives have created the education problem in Texas, but they blame teachers (and the plebs believe it).

I know the Senate Parliamentarian determined that it could not be passed as budget reconciliation.

I still don't understand why they felt the need to make this statement. Yes, the Mavs are not doing it and you share a building, but you're a wholly different organization in a wholly different league.

Still doesn't compute that we are 3 wins away from reaching the Cup Final for the first time since 2000.

The Stars are so mind boggling. They had an anemic offense all year, and then have scored 5+ goals in 5 of their last 7 games.

If the Stars can continue to play like they have in Game 6 vs. Calgary and Game 1 vs. Colorado, they have a legitimate shot at the Cup this year

Jim Montgomery, the second year Head Coach for the Dallas Stars was fired, and the organization and NHL are being very tight lipped about it. Rick Bowness will replace him as interim head coach. The Stars are currently 17-11-3, and play the Devils tonight

I don't keep up with much hockey, but I do remember and know the announcers from back in the day. I stand with Don. This younger generation is pathetic. https://www.aol.com/article/news/2019/11/11/don-cherry-addresses-firing-i-speak-the-truth-and-i-walk-the-walk/23858634/ .
I gotta say, as fun as he is, his hockey takes are way out of touch now. He doesn't understand how the game is changing from brawny, dump and chase brawlers, to smaller skilled guys with tons of speed. SN should have retired him 5 years ago

Rangers need to make a very hard run at Gerrit Cole. A rotation of Cole/Lynn/Minor would be a great start

Angels are about to pick up Jay Bruce via a three team trade (LA, Cincinnati, and Toronto).

I'll try to post these every day, if I remember

Mazara and Brinson are the future, I agree there. Reports are Shane Victorino is being looked at.
There are some reports that the Rangers are in some serious talks with David Murphy as well

No way I see Holland with double digit wins. Injuries and inconsistent play has me very hesitant. Perez I have a little more faith in.
Gallo's production I think ties directly to Hamilton's health. Hambone said this last week that knee was sore. The OF has question marks. Was the end of the season Choo here to stay? DeShields is your defacto CF, as much by lack of competition as having a lock on the job. Left field can be serviceable or a black hole.
Moreland should be trade bait. Lefty heavy lineup. Log jam at 1B and DH. I'd see what kind of OF help he could bring.
If Darvish gets to 10 it'll be a late season run at it.
I think Mazara gets the chance in LF this year before Gallo does. Mazara doesn't have the huge holes in his swing that Gallo does, plus more speed and a natural outfielder
Also, if Delino suffers any lengthy slump, look for them to call up Brinson to take that spot, unless James Jones absolutely wows everyone

Anyone else watching this show? I thought it was hilarious for the first episode, but then again, I love Craig Ferguson.

The biggest issue is the defense. There are a couple of very underwhelming d-men who have to be addressed, or this team is destined for an early round exit in the playoffs.
