12u 00 Softball team is looking for players to fill out its roster. Players/Parents must be dedicated and hard working. We will practice in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area. Any and all positions are available and will be decided on players ability only (most deserving of position will play position). I have been to many sell out 2 A games there. I even had some friends at those games standing outside trying to look in the side door to see the game. One reason I dont even try to go if you dont have a dog in the hunt, its not worth the hassle to get in there.

Come see for yourself next year......you will not be disapponited. You can see the score and fouls just about wherever you look. SFA is highly capable of doing what TJC does.

Anyone heard yet where 1 A is moving to?

They (SFA) are plenty capable of hosting both and that would be a great weekend of basketball as I said before. I think its more of the UIL wanting to spread the love around and not giving it all to one place.

Just read in the Nacogdoches paper where SFA is going to start hosting the Class 2 A region III basketball tourney. All I can say is it is about time, I love Wagstaff gym and the atmosphere, but it has always been to hard to get in the door. The paper did not say where the 1A would be moving to, I would assume maybe Tyler will be getting that in return, or it could move back to Kilgore, but I doubt it. Would love to see SFA host both, but I guess that would be greedy of me, it would make for a great weekend of basketball.

New team just getting started. 10u team is looking for some young girls who love the game of softball and want to continue playing during the summer as well as fall ball in September. This is a new team so all positions are open, we are currently looking for 5-6 more gilrs to fill out the roster. We will be playing in the ASA district tourney as well as the state tourney this year and are planning on playing in 3 more tourneys in June and two in July, and possibly on or two in August. If you have a daughter who is interested and you are willing to make the commitment to the team then we would love to hear from you. We have gained the assistance of some college coaches to come out to practices, they will help break down basic fundamentals to the girls as well as some advanced techniques also, this is a great chance to play ball and have some fun while doing it.
