I called UIL to get clarification. They said the school district had called and asked how they could get those coaches to be able to do what they wanted them to do legally. UIL gave them options and told them they could choose to do it or not. SLC ISD chose not to do what UIL suggested. The problem was that the coach decided he would do it anyway, going against the school district. So, that's that....

I would like some clarification on the last infraction, about the hiring of other coaches, who were not a part of the district, working with SLC football players. How is that a violation? They are not SLC coaches, so why can't they coach SLC kids, who they are NOT under contract to coach. What would be the difference in that and a coach doing private lessons? Or coaching a travel team with kids on it? Is it because they had been hired, but haven't started their contract? Again, why isn't it illegal for a coach from another school to do a summer camp? Or is this just a football thing?

UIL says it will be posted at 9 am.

What's the word on the girls bball coach and the boys bball/volleyball coach. Will they be retained after the suspensions?

I think Hallsville falls, and falls hard. They graduated almost every starting position, and their coach has left. Not usually a good combination. I think It's MP and SS's district to win.

Agreed. How has no one said anything about Sulphur Springs or Mount Pleasant. Didn't MP go 11-3 in district last year? I think they only had 1 starter graduate, and went to the second round last year. 1. MP 2. Sulphur/H'ville 4.PineTree Then everyone else.

MP has a new coach and a couple really good hitters. I saw them play, and they never looked to be on the same page at the same time (offensively vs. defensively). I think they could be good if they put it together.

Soccerbuff, Never is a strong word. I know for a FACT you have hung more than 10. A buddy of mine had a son who played for them last year. I was in Palestine with them when you embarrased them 14-0. So, yeah, that's a few more than 10......why would you do that to another team anyway? Shows real class.....

Palestine only scored 3 on Diboll? What happened there? Doesn't Palestine usually drop 10 on them?

Doing pretty well. 24-7 (0-1). Record is a bit better than what we are capable of, due to soft schedule, but I'll take it! Go a bit of senior-itis going right now, but we should be good for the long haul.

3A/4A is early March, correct?

Very patient with the ball. Quick forward up top. Center midfielder is solid, but not gifted. Defense is pretty good. Their outside midfielders leave a bit to be desired. But solid through the middle.
