They should make it to regionals, but not much further. Grand Salines tennis is in dire need of a make-over. After talking to a few of their players, they seem to run the practices themselves. Tennis is really about dead in that town. Its ashame, GS used to be great in tennis. They need to start from scratch and rebuild the program as a whole. Doesnt seem many sports in that town are successful right now.

Johnson wants to go to UT. He has told me personally that it is his dream. But, being a Longhorn myself, and following their baseball, I dont think he is honestly good enough right now to play for a powerhouse like UT. Maybe with 2 years at a JUCO he can transfer, but I dont see him pitching or being a starter for UT anytime before he is a senior. But who knows, some athletes get to college and really blossom, and he has the talent and athletic ability to do that.

He played hard. And deserves a medal for heart. Is this kid in Zats/Champs/Supers?

They have had great coaching over the years that prepared them for this. Sad they didnt go further. I would of picked them to at least get 3rd. They both have worked hard, and they will be missed on that team.

Well, Humphreys and Jarvis lost first round. I really thought they had a good chance as they both made it to state last year, and Jarvis got 3rd. But they had a tough draw. I watched the match, and it was a close one, lost 6-3 in the 3rd to a tough Mason team. And that ends an era at Grand Saline with Jarvis/Humprey/Gentry. Good luck to those 3 seniors. None of them are playing next year in college. It will be a tough time for GS for the next few years, as they rebuild.

Lindales girls are good but they dont have enough depth. With the graduates this year, they will not be strong 1-6. Their 1 will have a tuff time against all other schools #1's. She is a solid 2 or 3 player. Lindale will be rebuilding, and neither of their teams, boys or girls, will be nearly as strong as the past 7 to 8 years.

Their teamwork has really improved, and the team is much happier now that they let go of one of the big distractions on their team. Just my opinion, but Trent stepped up and wont let anyone be a distraction, and the team seems to be gelling a lot better now.

Think it was time for him to leave. He has proven himself in Lindale, now ready for a new challenege. And Lindale is in a bit of a decline. They will graduate a good class, and from what I have heard, they are having trouble getting boys to play. I hope they can get some good jr high classes coming in. I know all schools go trhough their ups and downs, but I hope Lindale stay competitive. Im sure Anders will work hard to keep them that way.
