  1. Garrison should win this one but not in a total blowout. Garrison 33 Timpson 19
  2. This is a good matchup. Anything could happen in this one. I have to give Mt. Enterprise the slight edge in this one but I wouldn't be surprised if Carlisle wins. Mt. Enterprise 30 Carlisle 21
  3. New Boston should win this one. Redwater is much improved but I can't see them improving enough to beat the Lions. New Boston 34 Redwater 13
  4. I'll have to go with Atlanta in this one. I don't know what Mt. Vernon has this year but I know they haven't played the competition that Atlanta has. This being the first district game I think Atlanta will be ready. It happens every year with Atlanta - they don't start playing until district starts. Atlanta 35 Mt. Vernon 20
  5. I think Gladewater should win this one but I ain't sure they will. Can't figure the Bears out. They have enough talent to make a run at 2nd in district. They just haven't found themselves yet. Mineola is much improved from last year and, with the Bears underachieving to this point, could make a game of it and possibly pull the upset. I still have to give the edge to the Bears. Gladewater 40 Mineola 28
  6. It's waaaaaayyy too early to start this one IMO. There's alot more football to be played between now and then. When it does come time for these teams to meet, it could be for the district championship. IMO, Gilmer will win. For me to pick by how much will have to wait. I'm not looking that far ahead at this point.
  7. I have to agree with Volleyball. The point spread poll is tasteless IMO. Everything points to this game being a total mismatch and by all accounts should be, but these are still high school kids and anything can happen. If Gilmer comes into this game flat, which they probably will, then it could be a close game for a while. A few turnovers and a slow start by the Buckeyes and, who knows, Sabine might just shock everybody. I seriously doubt that'll happen but you never know. With all this said, the Buckeyes just have too much size, speed, and depth for the Cardinals to overcome IMO. It is my hope the Buckeyes come out ready and put the Cardinals away early. I'm not going to give a score on this one but it SHOULD be lopsided.
  8. I have to go with Daingerfield in this one. But, they better not be overlooking Queen City. If they do this could be a close one. I was pretty shocked to see Queen City beat Hughes Springs. That was HUGE. If the Tigers are not looking ahead I see them winning this one relatively easily. Daingerfield 36 Queen City 19
  9. You got that right! Their band put on one of the best performances I can remember. They could probably win best all-around band in the state, definitely Division I all the way. If there's a better band out there right now I haven't seen it. Kudos. :notworthy: Bravo :notworthy: P.S. Thanks for the compliments, Rabfan. Gilmer got out to a big lead early (28-0 at the end of the 1st quarter), and it got a little sloppy after that. On that note, did anyone notice that the Buckeyes went for it on 4th down and about 3 from their own 30 (about) with about 4 minutes to play? I wonder why they did that? I think it may have been a combination of things like confidence in the offense and confidence in the defense. I've never seen anything like that happen before.
  10. That's good enough for me! Go get 'em Eagles!
  11. Yeah, I saw that after you pointed it out. Bashing ain't cool, epecially against those that keep this site up for us. BTW, are you gonna wear those black tennis shoes with the orange strings to your game for me, lol?
  12. Where do you find these polls? Do you have to be a member to get a line on these games? Do they have spreads for all games? Can you enlighten me?
  13. MAN! You been looking in my closet??!! How did you know about those??!! Guess I'll just have to make a fashion statement tonight!!
  14. HUNTINGTON WILL BLOW THEM ALTO YELLOWJACKETS AWAY! IT'LL BE THE UPSET OF THE YEAR! Huntington 63 Alto 0  Just kidding! Alto wins this one easily by 42 or so.....
  15. Take it to 'em Eagles! I know y'all are gonna get 'er done! Of course I'll be wearing orange and black but I'll keep a green hanky in my pocket for ya, lol.
  16. Van, Canton, Chapel Hill, and Brownsboro, any three in no particular order. They are probably too close to call at this point. My guess would be Van, Canton, and Chapel Hill, but I'm less than 60% sure. Athens and Brownsboro will have alot to say about it.
  17. Yeah, Rabfan, I hope the Atlanta Rabbits bring it tonight. The Buckeyes do need a stiff test before district play begins. I would like to see some DEFENSE tonight against the Rabbs. So far, the only shut down the defense for Gilmer has had was in game one, although for the most part it's been pretty solid. They'll have to improve if they are going anywhere when the playoffs begin. Last year Gilmer had several starters that got injured in the Atlanta game and it affected the team the rest of the season. I'm just praying everybody from both teams can avoid injury tonight. That's the last thing either team needs. GO BUCKEYES! Remember the D-A-S-H ! P.R.I.D.E. "...defense wins championships!"
  18. I'm gonna have to go with Sulphur Springs in this one. The Leopard fans can thank me later, lol. Sulphur Springs 36 Liberty-Eylau 23
  19. You are right JAKEBRAKE. He was recruited as a linebacker. He has verbally committed to Oklahoma at that position, but I think he could be either. You don't see very many players with his size that have 4.5 speed, so athlete would be the best description because of his versatility.
  20. You're sure right about that. He doesn't get to carry the ball that often. Part of the reason is so he can stay fresh because he is probably as good, if not better, at linebacker (and special teams). Alot of the comparisons to other great backs fail to acknowledge his versatility. There may come a game somewhere down the road where he may get as many as 18-20 carries but I kinda doubt it. Just imagine if he carried the ball as many times as Tommy Palmer did back in '82-'84. I think he would break all the school records. Of course, a whole lotta credit must be given to the O-line. I think I could even get 100 yards a game playing behind them, lol! BTW, Mr. Dodd, could you answer my question about how they go about deciding who plays in the Army All-American Bowl? I'm just curious.
  21. Oh Great Swami :notworthy: please tell me what the score is gonna be. You don't happen to have the Lotto numbers for Saturday, do you? :coolio:
  22. Yeah, good job, Smoaky! This is THE BEST site on the web! No other site even compares! I don't always agree with you but I always have respected your opinion. Keep up the good work and thank you!
  23. I'm with you Eagle8. I'm pretty sure it will be Justin Johnson and David Snow, although Lamar Harris could be one of them. Does anyone know what criteria they use to choose players for the Army All-American Bowl?
  24. Hey! Don't get your panties in a wad! I know these games tend to be blowouts. I was just punning about the history thing. 35-13 is not exactly a close game, or is it? :hmm: Closer than the last couple, though.
