  1. Not related to this particular game, but just curious what was the young man's name that played on the Defensive Line for Gladewater a few years back. He was a terror for the Bears and I believe he went on to play for some DI school in Texas, but lost track of him. I watched him play in a playoff game at Royse City one year. Awesome talent and he was a beast of a young man on the gridiron.
  2. Don't know, but I would imagine that Max Preps is a basic contributor to those stats. Max Preps has been emerging as a focal point for pre and post game information for the last few years. They have been around for awhile, but now you can find about anything you need to know about your favorite team or the next opponent.
  3. I love that y'all are promoting for me to earn a living wage while watching playoff football. Thank you. But as for Buccees...my first thought was all that snack food and drink that I can carry into the stadium, if I can get it pass the main gate. Those huge peanut patty's and when the price of gas goes down, I'm filling up and bringing home some beef jerky and maybe a BBQ samich! Love Buccess!
  4. LOL! You are much quicker than me! That is a great idea! Have not been able to watch the number one rushing football team in America this season. That might be my only chance. Love me some Royse City ISD Stadium playoff games....but I guess that is an understatement. But first, the Royse City Bulldogs need to beat Frisco this Friday night. They do that and I'm on the road following the Bulldogs. I know of one game on November 19th, I believe that is a playoff game at RCISD Stadium. Lots more nights available for many more!
  5. Quinlan Ford has been very impressive. Weak schedule? I believe these guys have paid their dues and more to earn this perfect season.
  6. Okay. I still cannot see Highland Park going to 6A. I realize that it would make perfect sense for that to happen, however, HP has been the last step in classification for so many years, I don't see that changing. The schools are busting all over the state with the influx of new folks moving to Texas. I think this will be the final year of six classes. In 2026, I believe we will add 7A. Royse City will be a large Class 5A DI this year and Highland Park will remain DI 5A as the breaking point. Royse City will go to 6A in 2026 and 7A in 2028 unless they build another high school before then. Of course I would love to see RCISD remain 5ADII, but that is just wishful thinking at this point.
  7. So is he thinking that 5A DII will include Royse City? Highland Park will remain in 5A DI?
  8. Here I go again! Royse City ISD Stadium is always pumped up about playoff season. Enjoy the championship teams or all of the playoff teams that want a great experience. High School Football is a celebration every year in Texas. We are old school folks that enjoy keeping that spark alive that once belonged to these parents of these current teams, when they were playing back in the day. It's all about the kids....football players, cheerleaders, bands, drill teams and student body. They should remember these special memories and we want them to be the best memories that they and their families can have. Call Michael Summers, Royse City ISD Facilities and Stadium Manager at 214-499-5391.
  9. Wow, and it was a legit game with Lovejoy really trying to get this win for a perfect season. Looks like a 9-1 for the Leopards, but they still win the District Championship and go from there. Congratulations to Frisco Liberty on a hard fought, very well orchestrated effort.
  10. Longview seems a little sluggish this year, not as dominate. Going with Tyler in this one, but close. Tyler 30 Longview 24
  11. The 'Battle for 2nd. Place' at Forney this Friday night is more than just second place. For either team you get home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The opponents will likely be Frisco in second place and Frisco Liberty in third place. Both teams are extremely good to say the least. So the opposition is not necessarily who we face, but where we face them. A win for Royse City would also give them a 9-1 season record, a win by Forney would give them a 7-3. Forney lost to Ennis 31-8 Royse City lost to Ennis 48-20.
  12. Royse City 2233.5 Highland Park at 2245.5, so either stay at 5A D2 or 5A D1? Just call it 2500 minimum for 6A
  13. Rodney Webb Gordon Wood G.A. Moore Dan Hooks Paul Tyson Chuck Curtis Scott Phillips Rusty Russell Curtis Barbay
  14. I agree with you again. We must be seeing our District from the same vantage point. I think that Ennis will easily defeat Corsicana, Ennis just has too much talent and Corsicana is in a rebuilding mode....Ennis 56 Corsicana 13. Ennis will also breeze past Denison in the first round, I believe. Royse City will not easily beat Forney, but the very young Royse City team has eight games under their belts now and that talent, that these very young players have, will help them get past a much improved Forney team...Royse City 31 Forney 24. But Royse City will face an extremely good Frisco Liberty team in that first round. Both Frisco and Frisco Liberty would be District Champions in most districts this year. But they have Lovejoy, so that "ain't good". Royse City will have to really play well to be able to beat Frisco Liberty, but I believe Royse City can do it. Forney will draw a tough team as well in the first round of the playoffs. Frisco returns a great team from last season and "Old Frisco", will end Forney's awesome 2021 season. Greenville, Crandall and Corsicana are all holding their breath for that fourth playoff place. But whoever gets that spot has to play Lovejoy and that "ain't good". I believe Crandall beats Greenville, Corsicana loses to Ennis and they will be eliminated in the last game of the season. I think that Crandall will emerge from that to possibly regret having to play, in that first round of the playoffs, facing Lovejoy at Lovejoy. Crandall 46 Greenville 21.
  15. Best of luck to Ennis. I was wrong with my biased point spread, but I was correct with my assessment of needing to stop the run, which we did not. That was the difference maker. Ennis has a pretty good team and Royse City has played well this year. Our program continues to build and having an 8-1 record this season certainly helps on confidence. The problem will be the District 7 matchup in the playoffs. With Lovejoy and Frisco being the top two seeds, they will disperse of District 8 with ease. Royse City must beat Forney this Friday to secure second place which will probably mean that Royse City would host Frisco Liberty in the first round....if Royse City can beat Forney. Ennis would get Denison at Ennis. Forney would draw Frisco and either Corsicana or Crandall will be playing Lovejoy. Lovejoy will probably be a very good candidate for the State Champion this year. Aledo of course will have something to say about that, I look for Ennis to go out in the second round and the rest of District 8 would have a difficult time of advancing very far this year. I don't think Ennis has the team they had last year when they played Aledo so well. Just not the speed needed to get past a second round opponent. If Ennis were in District 7, they would at best be a third place finisher in that district. Royse City would have difficulty also, that is just the level of talent in that district this year.
  16. Surprised that this is not a hot topic. Big game for both and both are talented football teams. Quinlan-Ford with their highly touted rushing game and Caddo Mills with their continuing story of athleticism in the new hot spot of Class 4A Football. Going with Caddo Mills in this one...CM Foxes 37 QF Panthers 35
  17. Great assessment. You have a lot of valid points. I tend to disagree with the Quarterback comparison. Ennis has an awesome QB and he is a tall and can view the open field with ease. However, the mobility and athleticism of the Royse City QB tends to give this homer (Me), the idea that because of the RC QB, RC will have a slight edge. He is a twin and his twin brother is a force in himself as he plays Safety on Defense and also with athleticism. You can tell it is a genetics gift and what this gives is a double whammy of weekly dinner table correspondence. Both are comparing film and one is reading the defense from an offensive perspective and the other is reading it from the defensive side of the game. But that is not just a convenience it adds to overall talent. Ennis, by far, has the 'Mojo' going for them. Highly ranked and respected throughout the state and they certainly deserve that attention. They have excellent talent in their Freshman receiver and the intensity of their game that is instilled by their legendary coach. If Royse City can stop the Ennis run game, the Bulldogs win by a touchdown. The Bulldogs have two of the most talented tailbacks in 5A football. But that is my very biased opinion and I highly respect your look into the depths of this very important game. Best of luck to both teams and hopefully it is won on the field with clean play and not the other way around. May the best be the result also be in the post season playoffs for both schools. Go Bulldogs!
  18. Big game Friday night at Royse City ISD Stadium. Battle of the undefeated and both teams are shooting for a District Title! Ennis has been a choice team for the last two decades, now Royse City has regained an edge and is very hungry, not for just a playoff spot (already have that), but a distinct appetite for that District Championship. Your thoughts?
  19. In my unqualified opinion I think there are a few teams that are so talented that it would be hard to imagine that anyone in their classification could beat them. Some will certainly face defeat and if they are defeated, it would have to be because of circumstances beyond their control. Argyle is one of those teams in my opinion. Those teams that are nearly unbeatable are Rockwall, Southlake Carroll, Austin Westlake, Lovejoy, Aledo and even though they have lost one, these may win the rest of theirs, such as Denton Ryan, Rockwall Heath and Aubrey. Going to be some very talented teams winning the State Championships this year and those games are ones that would be worth the tickets at Jerry World....if they actually get to play there, which they should.
  20. The Royse City Bulldogs travel to Corsicana Friday for both teams first District 8-5A DII game. Both teams are undefeated. One poll says this game is too close to call, another poll has Royse City by 4. Going to be a great game. Hope both teams play hard, play fair, the game is clean and may the best team win.
  21. Whitehouse was hard to understand last night. Their QB Conflitti, is a pretty good ball player, defensive backs were solid, tailbacks ran hard, good speed. Offensive line for the Wildcats seemed to wear down in the heat last night, but so did both teams. It was a hot, humid evening with absolutely no breeze. I think Forney's one point victory was helped out by the expectations of a brighter year with a new football coach. It happens. Plus you do not throw four interceptions and expect to win a ball game. Seemed as if Forney was in the right place at the right time. Don't count Whitehouse out, they have resources and each week is going to be a test for every team in Texas. Covid is spreading like wildfire, early season injuries and still trying to assess a teams talent in only the second game is expected. Royse City had three starters out and Whitehouse played tough. According to film that I saw, Whitehouse had a better game against Royse City than they did against Forney. I don't know what their player status was for that first week. The Wildcats are far from being done, they have some good players.
  22. 5A DII ? If Argyle were in 5A, I would pay to see Argyle vs. Ennis. I believe Argyle would hang in there pretty well. 5A DI would be a little more complicated. Argyle vs. Highland Park, or Argyle vs. Longview?
  23. A little closer than Ennis is use to. Just a TD of separation? Is Ennis up this year? Down a little this year? About the same as last year this year? They did beat a good Red Oak team, or at least Red Oak is being respected by several high school football fans this year.
  24. There were no Mahomes sightings that I know of, but we did play against them several years ago when Patrick Mahomes was a freshman defensive back. He intercepted one that night and took it to the house on us, if I remember correctly.
