I have spoken to the Avery coach and he said it's definitely not him so that leaves dexter Patrick as the probable

Ive seen Grapeland several times this year, I don't think they can beat Big Sandy. Big Sandy is disciplined against the press,(beat Kountze by 2 and killed SA), that shows a press really doesn't hurt them but they also have to shoot the ball well to win bc they really don't have an inside person.

Since he has won back to back do you think he stays to make another run or moves up in classification?

Are they going to make different divisions for basketball? The spread is extremely large for some schools to compete if we just do 1-6A and no splits ...

So would there be splits for basketball like there are for football with the new system?

This shows how narrow minded some people are . Has nothing to do with the kids and all to do with UIL and allowing charter schools to compete with public schools where charter can hand pick kids they want to play and attend their schools and public schools are determined by geographical zones. For the record, "coach we have to get King well so we can get our kids playing well again because we have a busy spring playing ball and I've got to rest because I do a lot of coaching in the spring". AAA head coach said that to Mumford coach while talking after the game. It's sad when people want to cheat the system and especially when those in charge allow the systems integrity to be compromised with a situation like this. Again it has nothing to do with the kids because they want to just play so don't play the race card when you don't even understand the situation.

I think both teams have beat Alto but Martinsville got beat by them at Alto then turned around and beat them at Tenaha.. should be a good contest between either school and Alto...I know nothing about Big Sandy other than seeing their scores on Hoopinsider .. ranked 7th but rankings don't mean much this time of year

Heard tonight from a reliable source that they flipped after the game but he wouldn't tell me who won. Apparently Martinsville had it going tonight and they are getting hot at the right time, lost to Tenaha by 5 at Tenaha and then played well again tonight!

I agree with both of you .. It's a fun time of year for coaches and players but in "murder's row" (region 3) anything can happen and usually does once the brackets are set..

I've heard several different things but one thing has been consistent..I've heard that all basketball schools will be the 1A and schools that are in 1A with football right now will move up to 2A and so on...Anyone else heard this?

Boys: Tenaha/Joaquin/Martinsville Girls: Tenaha/Joaquin/Martinsville Sets up an exciting Friday night for the boys with Joaquin going to Martinsville if everything pans out tonight!

IMO - I think Martinsville would prefer to go 3rd and try and have a rematch with Tenaha .. They beat Alto at the Tenaha tournament without one of their starters who was injured .. Big Sandy would be a good game for them but I don't know if Big Sandy has anyone that can hold the coaches son and that would set up a rematch between them and Tenaha which would be a good game on a neutral court.

They did struggle and it was a good game.. Martinsville outscored them 1st q and 4th q was even .. Tenaha outscored them by 6 in the 2q and the 3rd is where Tenaha pulled ahead.. it was one pt and end of 1 and 5 and the half .. Tenaha outscored them by 16 due to some great offensive rebounding by 33 in the 3rd and it was even money in the 4th ... Don't count em out .. their record doesn't indicate exactly what they are capable of ...IMO

The Martinsville/Joaquin game was a fun one...Martinsville had a chance to win or tie at the buzzer but both teams played very well..Joaquin shot 29 free throws and M'ville only shot 15...great ball game tho! Martinsville has a favorable schedule down the stretch so that will come into play... only road game there have the second half is at Tenaha..
