  1. ...i can promise you we're not the same person....but you're right about the Spring Hill Panthers..we're from the same area of Longview.....
  2. ....i work from computer- I just couldn't help responding to a smart remark........
  3. north of Longview and I work for a living so I dont' get to spend all day on the internet....
  4. I saw where Bo Talkington is taking over Overton....is this the same Talkington that did so well at Overton during the 80's? Then came back again in the 90's?
  5. Being on the other sidelines I have to give a vote for the 'Eyes' black/orange....doesn't hurt they march out to their own rap song and those huge kids dont' hurt the intimidation factor at all!
  6. Congratulations to Chase, Jackson, Wesley, and all the 'Necks- it's been a privilige to watch you even from the "other" side.
  7. YES- it is ONLY a hit when it preceeds the error in the play. Error ocurrs after the "hit" and usually is a throwing error(usually throwing to the wrong base trying to catch runner stretching the play another base or going home, etc).
  8. We drove over last night to watch the PG/Kennedale ballgame; the 1st thing we noticed was how PG runs on and off the field. After their at-bat the PG players RAN onto the field and were in position before Kennedale got to the dugout-this happened every inning! No wasted time waiting for cather to get gear on, (they had an extra kid in gear in dugout entire game)so in every inning the pitcher started throwing as soon as he ran to the mound. Same kid every inning RAN out with team and warmed up outfields, brought in the outfield ball, and recieved the infield ball as he ran to the dugout...EVERYTIME. Same thing coming off the field the team ran to the dugout.......... I can't say PG is the best 3A team in Texas...Bridge City, Orangfield, Robinson,Etc will have a say, but Pleasant Grove is very well coached, very well disciplined team, and very stringent in what they do on the field and that starts in practice-and starts with the coach. impressive PG-I know your fans are proud. 9. I've heard from more than one informed source(coaching friends) that sometimes politics and favoritism happens, not always, but, it does. Any anyone who follows a district very closely comes away a lot scratching their heads over the years. No different this year in 17AAA baseball....no dis-respect to those who made 1st team as there were a lot of deserving kids, there was also some you wonder where it came from if you know the stats and watched all year.....
  10. I don't think fans have any votes, just coaches . I'd heard it was strictly coaches and that's where the politics/favorites come in when kids make it over more deserving........but that's my opinion.. I agree the SH/Bennett pitcher deserved better, i'm sure other kids in district did also....
  11. I thought WO/Corrigan Camden played at Angelina college on Thursday night??
  12. If Evans was a .150 hitter I "might" call it a lucky swing. Since he's been one of the better hitters in East Texas, not just 2A, has a lot sof RBI's, some HR's, I tend to think it wasn't a lucky swing but more a mistake pitch....like down the middle. HR's aren't mistakes or lucky breaks for the batter, they are either mistake fatballs, hanging curves, or bad change ups thrown by the pitcher because he's behind in the count-or the hitter is good and strong enough to hit a bad pitch out of the park. Either way.....luck has nothing to do with it.
