From what I hear the Cards are definitely gonna be missing some of their best players but we need to get everybody healthy for district and not worry about these early games. Beckville doesn't have a jv so we got plenty of those young Cards from the jv team that can fill in. Heck, it'll do em good to get a taste of those Friday night lights for next year.

Was away all weekend but I am here to dine on my crow!! Chicken Fried with gravy please!! Congrats to the Pirates and still very proud of our Cards. Every school we play before district is larger in classification so to be 2-1 is still very good. Most importantly now is to get folks healed up and ready to go this week. Your memory is failing in your old age!! In boys sports your guys have won the last 3 years in football/Maud won four years in a row before that. In baseball it isn't even close. Before last year Maud has owned you'll and the district! I think it was 6 or 7 years straight that Maud didn't lose a district game or a game to Bowie. Track was the same way. Now basketball, we both were pretty bad and you'll probably got us on that one. We don't indulge pasture pool and we don't have a swimming pool so I guess thats about the extent of the boys sports.

Rootin for someone in Region 3 to win it all. Been a long time since we have had a state champion in 1A from this region. Colmesneil did it in 2002-03 and thats the most recent according to the UIL website.

Congrats to the Lady Cards from Maud who ended the season with an upset win over Detroit last night. Last week Avery had to come from behind in the 7th to end the Lady Cards upset bid...Maud is very, very young and had some key injuries that killed them early in the season but look out for these young ladies next season...they are going to be very tough to beat!! Great job Lady's!!!

Don't care what his number is he aint got "21 homers". Maybe 2 or 1 but not 21 unless the "official scorer" is counting inside the park homers because of errors. That I would believe in that district.

Yes, the one in D-24 is Dallardsville Big Sandy. It is located between Livingston and Woodville on the edge of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian reservation. They are a very small school that does not play football.

Here's the standings for the districts down south: 23 1A Colmesneil- 5-1 West Sabine- 4-1 Zavalla- 4-2 24 1A Big Sandy 6-0 Sabine Pass 3-0 Evadale 1-3 Kind of spotty for district 24 but thats all I could find!!!

Maud moved to 6-0 in district play with a win over James Bowie Friday night. I think Bowie is tied with Avery at 4-2 for the second and third spots. That completed the first round of play.

Maud Cardinals are getting on the right track after a rough start. They are now 5-0 in district play and beat a pretty good New Boston team. They might surprise some folks in the playoffs. I think the top two in the district are Maud at 5-0 and James Bowie at 4-1 and they play this Friday.
