Why not? A lot of teams played their last home game last weekend.

I haven't read all of the comments but hass anyone mentioned the fact that these games Friday are senior night for most home teams? This means dozens and dozens of parents on the field. Parents of players, trainers, film crew, band, twirlers, drill team and more will be involved. These parents have sacrificed a lot of time and money. They deserve a night of good weather.

The game may won or loss with the coin toss. If center defers, which a lot of teams do against carthage, they could easily be behind 7-0 before they ever touch the ball. That usually spells disaster against carthage.

The only way any 9th graders are playing varsity this week would be that zero sub varsity games on Thursday night were played.

Really gonna blame the UIL. This was the week Carthage and Marshall agreed to play back in February of 2020. Who did Marshall play Thursday night in sub varsity game???? Carthage.

Why did the marshall coach backed out of playing carthage this year? Was supposed to play September 10th.
