The deal is, IF Texas loses and the 3 two-loss teams win, Texas will hold the tie breaker to get in. Not each team has played each other so head to head is out. The next scenario is next highest ranked common opponent. Every one of this Texas has beaten. Texas will play in the ccg. I’ll say this. I hate Texas not playing these teams anymore. I’d love for Texas to stay in these well developed rivalries. However, the Big12 has neglected its member teams. They had opportunities to grow with good teams/universities. I have a friend whose brother works in the admin at Arkansas. He told me that Ark reached out to the Big12 a couple years after the Aggy left. They wanted in. The Big12 brass drug their feet. The one true champion bit cost the Big 12 as well. The Big 12 officiating is atrocious and vividly biased towards teams. For those reasons I’m ok with leaving, but hate the at Texas will leave behind some state rivalries that are really good. I won’t be suprised to see the refs completely and obviously tilt Friday’s game in favor of Tech. Oh, and OU better watch out Saturday too.

Fans should be able to enjoy their Friday night experience with their own folks. If others want to show up to observe, that’s fine too. But to place your band on the opponents sideline and them play the entire game is ridiculous. That’s not disrespectful to the team, that’s dusrespectful to the fans that traveled and bought a ticket to support THEIR school. Put your band in the end zone if you don’t have room on the home side. I bet Gilmer would be ticked if somebody bought 200 reserved seats on their home side and put their band with buckeye fans. There’s a reason you split sides. But knowing the Gilmerites I’ve met, that doesn’t shock me about them
