  1. Two years in and Missouri has played for a Conference Championship because they were placed in the SEC East. I'd say they benefitted more than aTm. The best aTm has had in 20 years and a berth in the Cotton Bowl was the better end of the deal. I still firmly believe that aTm would've at least played for a National Championship. Who knows if they'd have beaten Alabama in that setting?
  2. I also would've preferred a Big12 Network but the conference couldn't agree on it I guess. However, upon the teams not agreeing to pursue a conference network, the teams that left shouldn't have been upset about the LHN as they had every opportunity to build their own with ESPN, Fox, CBS or anybody that would've done it. I still think the Big12 Network would've been great.
  3. Where I live it is either Direct TV or Dish Network. I've had Dish and their customer service was horrible. I've also seen the LHN and to me it isn't worth switching to Dish for. I can watch the couple of games at my bnl's house or at a pub. The only content I miss are basketball and baseball games and I've gotten by for several years now, DirectTV will eventuallly pick it up.
  4. It also helps (in football) when the scheduling is done so the best couple of teams in the East don't play the best couple of teams in the West giving you 3-4 undefeated or 1-loss teams. That makes for some good coach boasting and Media hype.
  5. I'd say BYU and Louisville to start with. Big 12 completely missed the boat on Florida State and Clemson.
  6. It was going to have to be a package deal to the Pac. After aTm bailed and the LHN was brought up it sort of died to the best of my memory. To me the best thing that could've happened was Mizzou and aTm stay put and form a Big12 Network with a major distributor. I still don't have the LHN.
  7. because it's the same song you always sing.
  8. Well, internet....I chose to not stay on the computer or iPhone 24/7 as I have a family, work and other responsibilities in my life. And I may not be the smartest feller on SDC, but there's one thing I'm guaranteed of as long as you're still here.
  9. The deal was to get Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, OU and Ok State remember. Texas and OU were the ones they were after, but they were pulling to get the others invited/on board. That's when aTm balked on it and the Big 12 decided to stay together...... Then Mizzou and aTm left after renegotiating conference payouts.
  10. We knew exactly what you meant about the "upsets" or as we like to call it "hyped teams getting beat". ^^^
  11. See WET, this is what I'm talking about in the other thread......a TExas thread you have to inject SEC greatness into. Propaganda about how the SEC were upset, yada yada......maybe, just maybe they were hyped too much. Congrats to the Horns and the Red Raiders on making it to Omaha.
  12. When Texas was entertaining the idea of going West to the Pac-XX conference, they were bargaining others in the deal including aTm. That should show that the aTm rivalry meant something to them. aTm couldn't stayed and kept the rivalry that evidently you think they need yet they chose to leave hoping it stayed on the schedule. Big 12 scheduling won't allow it late in the season. The only reason there are few threads about Texas/OU is the OU posters on here don't have to get stuff started just to try to validate themselves against Texas. Every thread in this forum ends up with Aggies posting in it about the SEC or Aggies, especially the Longhorn threads.
  13. Yes, you do......but we still have the right to laugh at it.
  14. So it's safe to say it isn't the biggest rivalry Texas has.
  15. Just because a team or conference is overhyped and lose, does that truly make it an upset. I think most folks are seeing the lovefest of the SEC from the media. +1
  16. I think all the talk about the tough 30game SEC conference stretch was proven to be hype during the regionals.
  17. So it wasn't important enough to aTm to stay and keep it up? By leaving they walked out on what they are calling their biggest rivalry, not to mention two other good in state rivalries. It isn't that big of a deal as Texas hasn't asked the Big 12 if they could schedule an out of conference game in the middle and according to one of aTm's reasons for leaving, Texas gets what they want in the Big12. So evidently it isn't as important. IF OU left, they'd still meet in October at the fair and play. But according to you, that will be my one sided unobjective view. Evidently the Aggies want/need the rivalry...... do you not capitalize lsu now???
  18. I always thought this as well. also think about this, if UT/aTm was the biggest rivalry wouldn't you think they'd play in Dallas at the TEXAS STATE FAIR. It means so much to OU that they agreed to play in the state of Texas years ago. Yes it helps their recruiting of DFW, but if it wasn't that big of a rivalry don't you think they'd have just wanted it Home and Home???
  19. The only reason that any poster on here would wish that is to shut you up
  20. Since his one sided unobjective argument doesn't agree with your one sided unobjective argument, you will take your ball and go somewhere else.
  21. ...and you talked to Whitfield to know this?
  22. Both qbs don't may have been called upon to operate their offenses differently, but their skill set is very similar
