  1. I didn't know that finishing 3rd in your conference and going to the Cotton Bowl was better than winning a conference and getting a shot at the National title. Slive must have some dang good Kool-Aid..... Butthurt? Really could care less I just hate that the Aggies destroyed one of the longest rivalries in the nation out of spite.
  2. Give it time is the only thing you can do to see if it pays long term dividends. Short term has already bitten you...... The Big 12 Champion plays in the Fiesta Bowl and that is at least where the AGgies would've been, if not the National title game which I happen to think they would've gotten the invite. I am so glad to know you predicted that Johnny Manziel turned out to be Johnny Football, you should quit what you are doing and start up a recruiting service. You were the only one with an eye enough to know what a diamond in the rough he was....(sarcasm) I have made no excuses......I said it would be a bad move in the long run which has yet to be seen. so far it has cost the Aggies a trip to the Fiesta bowl at a minimum and a shot to play in the National title game. Why do I need to keep telling myself that??? I don't sit there all day with SDC brought up on my computer or i phone like you evidently do.... funny thing!! I don't even have an I phone....flip phone still
  3. They must grow Johnny Football's on trees down in College Station.
  4. I was trying to say that Aggies, including the administration, were saying it was a long term decision, but they fail to see how it has already bitten them in the rear in just the first year. Missing out of playing in the National title game as the Big 12 champion. Anybody that thinks they wouldn't have won the conference last year is naive. If I failed to clearly state that, I apologize and should've proof read better. Winning has been the biggest recruiting tool the Aggies have. Conference affiliation has less than you'd think. IF the Aggies went to the SEC and went 5-7 missing a bowl do you honestly think they'd still have drawn the recruits they have? No. Those kids would be going to Ole Miss, Miss state, Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee if that were the case. That is the reason those schools don't typically recruit as well as LSU, BAma, Florida, Georgia........ get the drift. The good teams in the SEC stay good because they win in the SEC. Being in the SEC doesn't recruit, winning in the SEC does. Winning in any conference does as conference titles, BCS games and shots at National titles mean more than conference affilitation. IF aTm had stuck around and won the Big 12, you think their recruiting would've been down still??? no....winning cures all that ails a program.
  5. Had already turned??? I believe the games say otherwise. 27-25, 49-39, 49-9 also say otherwise. aTm hadn't turned the recruiting table on Texas at all, Texas' problem was complacency and not developing the talent further. I contradict myself?? Maybe you should read a little further in depth....I said currently it was a bad move as the Aggies would've probably played in the national title game last year. I understand that is hindsight as no one knew JF would've turned out except Lion70HendersonAggiewhateverheisnow. The longer the Aggies are in the SEC you'll see how the move truly affects the football program, but currently I don't see where it has helped them. That good OL was mostly Sherman recruits. Had they stayed, they'd be top dog in the Big 12 with a shot for the National title game last year and this year.
  6. I still don't think it was a good move, especially for the present. You could have played for a National title last year and probably won it. That would've done greater things for your program than just being in the SEC. This was the time to turn the table in the Texas/aTm rivalry as well. That would've done alot for your program as well. But you left. Hope it doesn't take aTm as long as it does Arkansas to win the conference....I'd like to see a Texas team rule the SEC. Like your school president said, this is a 100 year move. The future is still yet to come. I am glad you think you are right over 1 and 1/2 seasons. No need to eat crow as the aggies have yet to even win their division in the SEC. It looks like the SEC got what they wanted.....2 programs that will be competitive, but not be able to knock their powers out of kilter on a yearly basis.
  7. He just hates the Longhorns and anything/anybody associated with them. A friend of his was taught that at Fish camp.
  8. Not MIA, I just don't sit at the computer or keep my smart phone in my hand looking at SDC all day like you do.
  9. I am not humiliated because Johnny Manziel turned out to be one of the best college football players ever. Doesn't bother me one way or another. IF you asked everybody here on this board if JF was a surprise you'd get a unanimous answer as he was a huge unknown. IF he wasn't on that team this year or last, I'd have been right as there wasn't a QB on that roster that could've produced like he did....especially Joeckel. I guess it's what you consider as failing in your season....IF finishing 3rd in your conference division is considered a success, then you aren't failing. Most big time programs consider winning at least their division a small success and winning the conference a large success. If they don't win the conference a BCS at large and win is considered a success. Some programs consider smaller bowl wins a huge success....all relevant to that program. I will state again, (after the fact of finding out what kind of star JF is) had aTm been in the Big 12 they'd have played for a National title last season. No way the computers and human polls could've kept them out of it after completing the Big 12 schedule vs. Notre Dame. A hasty exit cost them that shot in hindsight.
  10. He was the reason they beat Ole Miss last year and this year. Joeckel is nowhere close to being a JF..... They lose to Ole Miss if Joeckel is QB.
  11. So without JF, you think aTm still has the success they've had so far in the SEC???? Please enlighten us on this. I said they'll fall in the ranks of the SEC West. Instead of being the 3rd best team in the west, they'll have to battle Auburn, Ole Miss. And how am I wrong?? I can speculate just as you are doing that nobody would've beaten Alabama. You are wrong, aTm DID beat Bama. Is that thunder I hear coming from your direction??
  12. aTm would've won the Big 12 and been in the NC game if they were in the Big 12 last year. Their hasty move backfired on them in just the first year of being in the SEC. Now they are there and when JF leaves they will fall in the SEC ranks. Mizzou's success this year is due to Florida, South Carolina and Georgia being over rated. BAma will beat them handily in the SEC Championship game. Just start chanting HLion.....you'll get that warm, fuzzy sense of belonging to the SEC instead of being "cousin eddie" in the Big 12.
  13. I think he has lost lots of support and who is to say he doesn't get complacent again if he does come back.
  14. He will be the highest paid ever. $8million a year range.
  15. Dodds announced his 2014 retirement and announced they wouldn't start the search for his replacement until late this year for one reason. That got him off the hook for having to fire Mack if the need to arose. He is giving Mack the rest of the season whether he rights the ship or not. Mack will not be fired this year even if Texas loses out. Mack knows this is it for him. The writing is on the wall and that is why I think he has a higher sense of urgency to turn it around and leave his legacy intact. The new AD will be named days after Texas' bowl game (if there is one), Mack's retirement will be announced shortly after and the new head coach will be named after that. Dodds had a purpose for his early announcement, this is all strategically planned and I think this is how it plays out. Saban will be made the highest paid coach in the country, whether in Austin or Tuscaloosa. The matter isn't Texas wanting Mack to fail, I honestly believe they gave him a notice that this is it regardless. Texas is ready to move on, but is giving him the rest of the season because of what he has done there in his time at Texas.
  16. Maybe not the right words, but Robinson is making sure they are focusing on the fundamentals. It didn't take much to be better than _iaz. They are showing much improvement though.
  17. Greg Robinson is an old school coach. He believes that to be good you have to be good at the fundamentals of the game. He has the team wrapping up, thus tackling better. They are better at gap control and their reads as well. They are actually playing sound assignment football and when that happens you can blitz effectively.
  18. Well do you have evidence that he is a good to great college QB? He didn't even stand out in our spring game against our terrible defense.
  19. If Texas loses by 40 or more it is time then. When the team arrives back in Austin he should be fired. 16 years - 1 NC, another appearance and only 2 conference titles. Not enough to let them write their own pink slip.
  20. ....just like Ash was against OU.
