I'd take McCarron without hesitation. He can make all the throws and is smart with the ball. He'll have the best pro career of the three mentioned imo

top 3 in any order Ohio State Bama UGA 4/5 aTm or Oregon 6. Clemson 7. Louisville 8. Stanford after this there are lots of ???? OU, Ok state, Texas, South Carolina, Florida, LSU. all have deficiencies that give me pause to put them over another team.

I feel like Georgia could be preseason #1 and it be deserving. they were very close to defeating Alabama in the SEC CG last year.

What everybody is all up in arms about is his ability to break an arm tackle and escape pressure. His throwing in the spring game was very limited. He is very far from being the next star at Texas. He has loads of potential and with the proper coaching/development he can become great. He isn't nearly as fast as expected.

We were talking about aTm and Johnny Football. The conversation had nothing to do with Texas' defense last year. You referenced last year's Texas team. I was talking about the 05 Texas team. Please Keep up and don't call people clueless when you've forgotten what we were talking about. JF was equally important to last year's aTm team as Vince Young was to Texas' 05 NC team. aTm minus JF last year was a 7-8 win team...he was that important. Other people in this thread have agreed, yet you only seem to criticize me.

What Texas doesnt have now has nothing to do with what me and you are talking about. aTm without JF wouldn't have won the games they did regardless of th OL or anybody else

No bias at all. He was by far the best athlete in college football this year. I'll compare how important he was to his team to how important Vince Young was to the Texas Longhorns 2005 BCS NC team. Much like VY, JF's running/scrambling/improvising skills made the defense have to respect it. Running lanes were wider, WR's were more open, DL had to watch for him to break the pocket. His athleticism completely changed the defensive scheme of the opponent or break it down. The defense always had to play their responsiblilty with the thought that he might take off. Only a Texas fan can tell you who the other skill position players were from the 2005 NC team that beat USC. Other folks would have to think about it or maybe even look it up. They all can tell you that VY was there. JF is the same way. In 8-10 years ask someone that played against the Aggies (with Manziel) who the other skill position players were and see if they can tell you. JF had a good supporting cast, but don't think for one minute that the 2nd or 3rd string QB could've came in and led the Aggies to victory and a 11-1 season.

JF accounted for over 5000 yards of offense and was a one man highlight reel. I doubt they would've have gotten the same production from any backup they had on campus.

I did and I think Swoopes is a big, strong physical kid who can run the football. I still don't dnow what kind of passer he is.

Having rebuilt the coaching staff to solve the problem, we see that may not have been the biggest problem.

Turns out it was a short term bad move as well. The Aggies would be playing in the BCS National Championship game had they been in the Big 12. After watching last night I have no doubt they would've ran the table in the Big 12. That team is built with players recruited for the Big 12. With Deruyter not calling the defense there was an immediate upgrade. Congrats Aggies on a good season!

That may be an advantage, but it isn't the biggest. talent will be the biggest. El Campo runs the ball alot because they know they lack in the passing game. Carthage will pin their ears back and flood the backfield. When they start throwing the ball it will be under heavy pressure and the turnovers will come.. Carthage wins this one 42-14.

This!!! All the motion and pre snap shifts for 2 years have fooled absolutely nobody or got our team in position to have better matchups. This isn't Boise State. It is Big boy football. Line up and cram it down their dang throat for Pete's sake. I am ready for the entire coaching staff to leave, Dodds included. I say let Mack go now, tell Harsin if Boise is interested to go ahead and go home and give the offense reigns to Major. If the offense looks the same come Bowl time let him go too. I've watched video on Silsbee against Orangefield and WOS. I have seen Carthage in person. Carthage will have a size advantage on both lines against Silsbee and Carthage will probably run at will on them. I've read that Stafford ate them up passing the ball. If they aren't good at passing the ball it will be a long night for the Silsbee defense. Carthage has played against teams of Silsbee's caliber and better. I feel like Silsbee will be able to score early, but the Carthage defense will make a stop or two and force a turnover or two as well. My prediction Carthage 49 Silsbee 21
