  1. Gilbert is seeing how quick he can get to 17, Manny Diaz is coming up with more slow developing 8 man blitzes for the second half and the young secondary is still figuring out who is supposed to cover Apo. Offense looked explosive with Ash, Brown and DJ Monroe, but we couldn't have that. They must only know 6 offensive plays each. I guess I should say...the offense looks very Greg Davis, but with pre-snap motion.
  2. The agreement with ESPN was done after the Big 12-2 decided to stay and sign with Fox correct???? Should Texas say "no, we want less" because it isn't fair to all the Aggies in the Land"?? What if the shoe was on the foot in College Station? I doubt the Aggie Network would've caused a stir. Nobody would've left because of it. What teams have left because of the LHN?
  3. I said it was for the 3rd tier rights, but didn't the conference heads vote to allow them to show one OOC game and also one conference game???? So you are saying if they were getting far less money for the network it would be okay??? If the Aggies had $300million offered to them to start a network to show all access all sports they'd say NO????? Really???? The NCAA has nipped the high school games in the bud, but the highlights they are being gray. How is being offered $300million for something antics anyway???? Also, didn't the Aggies vote against equal revenue sharing in the Big 12-2 since they were going to get more money/???? Is that fair??? Now they are saying they wanted equal sharing....
  4. I have an honest question and would like for you to show us the proof either way. Didn't the remaining 10 teams have to vote on allowing universities to have their own network for the third tier rights to games? I am just curious as to if that did happen along with the new Fox contract for the 10 team conference.
  5. All I need to know is that Greg Davis is gone and opposing DCs won't know what is coming. That is an advantage for GG and Texas in general. You can't solely base the upcoming season on any team strictly on what happened last season. aTm has shown proof of improvement in their record, recruiting and coaching staff. Texas just dropped off the radar completely with a talented group of players. Their "wretched" defense as you talk about it, was comprised of a lot of players that played in a MNC game the previous year. If you ask 100 Texas fans if going 5-7 was worth getting rid of Greg Davis they probably answer you yes. Will Muschamp got frustrated with Davis, and it showed on the sidelines at times. Texas' problem last year was more scheme related than anything and the scheme is changed.
  6. Never been on orangebloods moron. Can't stand the place. Texas had no depth in the front 7 last year and that is why the give up lots of yards on the ground as the season went along. They have some depth there this year. How many times have you proven me wrong on an opinion? maybe once or twice, but that doesn't end my day or cause me to pout. You act as if your opinion is right based on last year alone. "well they didn't last year" or " they did this last year". Last year is last year. If you want to take something from last year it was that the defense was pretty good, they just kept getting put on the field. Go ask a Tech fan what happens when that occurs. Fozzy played in the I-formation in HS. He will be in the I-formation now. he hasn't excelled at sprinting towards the sideline in Greg Davis' version of a running game. He actually has a chance to play to his strengths. Also two names you will hear are Malcolm Brown and Joe Bergeron. You won't forget them. So if you want to quit basing your argument solely on what happened last year we can talk. Last year is over. We have 12 games in a new season and I feel like Texas will win 8 of them.
  7. WETSU says so, so shall it be I guess. Nobody else can form an opinion about the Longhorns without WETSU giving the final okay. Good luck on continuing your successful winning season streak. I sure hope the Longhorns can find a way to win those 5 ball games again.
  8. Probably both. ASh will play, but Gilbert (starter) won't be handicapped by the man in the booth this fall. He will still make some mistakes, but he won't be in 3rd and 9 most of the time with 6yd hook patterns called either.
  9. Texas "out-athleted" many teams in the last decade. Greg Davis was predictable. Vince- Mack made the statement (paraphrased a bit) "We quit trying to coach him and just let Vince be Vince". Greg Davis was the QB coach. National Title season Colt - probably one of the highest football IQs at qb and was a winner despite not having a decent gameplan. Do you think I'm just dreaming a running game up??? I read, watch video, do my own research before I talk. I make a few mistakes every now and then, but the ground game should be a strength this year.
  10. 7-5, 8-4....one game off and I don't know much about them??? Seriously WETSU?? 3 good reason......TobinFrost is gone, Brian Harsin is there and running game. The QB situation is settled. Mack is just keeping things quiet. I thought you were going to the SEC?
  11. Correction, Pickens has enough money. However he won't spend it in that manner. He'll go where OU and Texas go.
  12. Yep. but I doubt the 6-6 this year or a new head coach. 8-4 will be more like it with a win over the Ags. I didn't realize 1 season put you on a streak, but I guess that is Aggie logic? So the Longhorns have a 1 year losing season streak. But that would give the Aggies a one year decent season streak right? 'Christ Almighty....It's like I'm playing cards with my brother's kids or something"
  13. The Pac-10 was the one doing the talking. What was best for Texas and the rest of you guys was keeping the Big 12 alive.
  14. Well ETA you didn't catch on that 16 year thing.....that has to do with the last time aTm beat a SEC team. Funny how that works huh? if you would put aside your hate for the Longhorns, you'd be able to see what someone is presenting to you as a fact. That hatred clouds you Aggie's thought process so bad you can't see what is best for your own program. I particularly hate to see aTm go and leave behind traditional rivalries. However if they don't play Texas anymore it won't be the Aggie's fault though. Everything will be blamed on Texas and the LHN.
  15. Considering aTm hasn't beaten a SEC school in 16 years I feel certain of that.... Recruiting will get better if you win 9+ ballgames a year. Just wearing the T-shirt with a SEC logo on it doens't give you instant credibility, you still have to win the games. Talk about taking the glasses off....jeesh. take yours off and see for yourself. But yes, you will get drilled in the SEC. and I have said it all along. Don't need to see the aggies leave first to say it. The last 16 years have spoken loudly enough.
  16. I think it is safe to say that aTm wouldn't announce they are leaving unless they had something in hand from the SEC that guaranteed their acceptance. With that said, the Big 12-? would know that the SEC had been poaching to begin with.....legal implications. Is aTm willing to announce they are leaving the Big 12 without holding that guarantee and risk the Big 12 filling their spot and the SEC deciding not to expand??? That is the question. Can aTm trust Mike Slive and the SEC schools to go ahead and announce they are leaving??? Right now it is said they are "exploring their options" and "asking what it will cost them to leave". Sounds to me like they are still in a limbo with the SEC and don't want to step out on the ledge. That would be rough if they did and the SEC not accept them and the Big 12 not take them back. But IF/when it is announced I won't do anything. Because it won't really matter to me, my next door neighbor, Texas, Big 12, Rick Perry or anybody. It will end up being a bad move for Texas A&M though...all the way around.
  17. Have the Aggies officially announced their departure???? or did they just tell Beebe they were looking around? Has Mike Slive officially sent the invitation????
  18. Probably because Texas will most likely beat Notre Dame. aTm will not beat Alabama.
  19. Didn't the title say something about exploration? Did it particularly say anything about the SEC invitation???
  20. You are in the SEC....don't worry about it. YOu shouldn't let others bother you so much. I mean, you ARE IN THE SEC!!!!!!!!!!!! People are envious of the Aggies now. You are in the SEC!!!!!11
  21. I for one am laughing. Stick your chest out and shout SEC a few times. It will give you instant credibility and make you better than you truly are as a football team. Remember being in the best conference is the only thing that matters, winning games on the field is just icing on the cake.
  22. Is that just a gut feeling or do you have proof other than what we've all just read. "If tamu wants in the sec the sec will take them with or without Texas.". Did you just really say that? seriously? After what just went down. Tamu has wanted in the SEC and pretty much told the entire world they were being invited and had accepted until the SEC politely said "no you didn't".
  23. I think SMU has upset written all over it. Shouldn't be, but aTm sure is confident coming off their best season in a decade. 3rd game is going to be tough. Ok. State will be extremely good. Arkansas is going to be solid again this year. At this point I can see aTm being 1-3 and as good as 4-0. I think they slip up on one of them though. Jones is always a tough enviroment but I think aTm wins this one. Then they slide through the easier part of their schedule for a few weeks until they meet Mizzou. I think this is the team nobody in the Big 12-2 will need to sleep on. OU in Norman is a loss. Not even 25% chance in my book. The game with Texas should be a tough struggle as well. I can see aTm being between 6-6 and 11-1. I think another 9 win season is about right though. Just because you beat a team the year before doesn't mean anything as far as this year.
