  1. Gilmer vs PG tomorrow at 4:00 in North Lamar.
  2. Gilmer game cancelled. One game series tomorrow. Either in Atlanta or Kilgore is what I heard.
  3. Any scores from last night and updated standings? I know Gilmer beat Bullard 2-1 but I did not see any other scores. Thanks.
  4. Wow! Have to be kidding me that they lose one game and a person is wanting them fired. Short term memory loss? I think they did play in state finals last year! I am not from there, in fact, my kids play for Gilmer, but what a shame if people feel this way. Coaches in Texas work 80 hours a week, groom our young men, work with them to compete, do not make much money, serve as role models, and people say this on a chat board? LOL give me a break!
  5. The following East Texas players were selected to play in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All Star game. The games will be played at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on June 15 and June 16. Congratulations to these young men, their program and their coaches. 9 kids from East Texas selected! A great honor - hard work and dedication paying off for the seniors. A great way to end their high school careers: 1A-3A North Team Dylan Bowman, 2nd Base, Gilmer Zach Bassham, Shortstop, Hughes Springs Lenzie Foley, At Large selection, Quitman 1A-3A South Team Gunner Baker, Pitcher, Carlisle Riley Smith, Pitcher, Hudson Alex Phillips, Pitcher, Central Heights Levi Smith, Catcher, Elkhart Michael Crews, Shortstop, Rusk 4A-5A North Team Ronnie Gideon, 3rd Base, Hallsville
  6. I would guess Chase Tate. Also have an incoming 9th grader that is pretty good - Brett Rice.
  7. Thank you BCP. You are right, Dylan would not like this! :) But, he does deserve credit for his hard work. Not the biggest kid, not the fastest, but just works his tail off every single day. Coach Traylor, when introducing him, talked to the younger kids in Gilmer about how hard work and dedication pays off. Told them to all look at Dylan as an example. Was the smallest kid on the team in junior high, ended up playing varsity football as a sophomore, all 140 pounds of him back then. Worked to graduate at 5'9", 165# and benches about 280! Ended up being a 3 year letterman in football, All District in football, Academic All State, team Captain on the State Finals team. Then in baseball, was a four year letterman, All District every year, Atlanta Tournament MVP, invited to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All Star game, which will be played in June at Dell Diamond, and some other honors which will be announced shortly. Will be playing baseball at ETBU. When I asked about the other larger schools recruiting him, he said, "Dad, I prayed about it and ETBU is where I am supposed to be." I could not argue that. The part I am most proud of as a Dad is this - Ranked in top 20% of class, a dedicated christian who just does the right thing, and is a coaches dream because he just goes out and works and never wants credit and never will second guess a coach. A true leader who does it the right way. With all of the athletes in Gilmer, this is an award Dylan is very proud of. As a Dad, I can now say, "Well done, young man, you did it right!" Again, thank you. You are right, his dad is a bum! :) A proud bum though! By the way, the picture in my sig is of him breaking up a goal line stand against Kilgore for the district championship. A play Coach Traylor said Friday night is one of the top 5 plays in Gilmer football history.
  8. I agree, come out and support these young men and coaches tomorrow. District champs and a chance to play in round 4 if we can win Saturday! Winner of this series gets winner of Melissa and Argyle. That series is tied 1-1. Come out to PT tomorrow at 1:00 Buckeyes! I agree, come out and support these young men and coaches tomorrow. 9. Gilmer came from behind to win 4-2!
  10. Gilmer won 3-0 and 4-3!
  11. Gilmer beat Bullard, 2-1, with a walk off, 2 run single in the bottom of the 7th! Great game by both teams. Was 0-0 until the 5th I think when Bullard scored to go up 1-0. Gilmer had one hit going into the 7th, then loaded the bases with a hit and some walks, before winning it 2-1 to claim the District Championship and a Round 1 bye. Not sure the last time Gilmer won a District Championship in baseball or the last time in football and baseball in the same year. Great memories for this senior class. Congratulations to Coach Henry and the Buckeye players and coaches!
  12. Anyone playing tonight? Gilmer/Gladewater moved to Saturday.
  13. I know Gilmer has Gladewater at home Thursday then at Chapel Hill on Friday.
  14. Gilmer 3 Kilgore 1 Final
  15. Gilmer just won 8-7! Big win for the Buckeyes!
  16. Anyone have standings? I know Gilmer is 4-0 and bullard has not lost.
  17. Gilmer 10 Spring Hill 2
