  1. I live just east of Winnsboro, Tx in Franklin County. I saw what i thought to be a black panther run out infront of me on way home just before my house. Wasnt possitve of what it was but i had never seen anything like it. Bigger than most of the dogs that rome around here and moved way to fast and swift. Solid black and long tail. Still wasnt sure untill a couple nights later when i went out to feed my show cow. I heard the cat cut loose whith one of its high pitch screams. Like a woman screaming bloody murder. Once you hear you will never forget that noise. I knew what it was then. I heard it a couple more times. Then it moved on. They are def. out there.
  2. She was my Spanish Teacher for two years and let me go on Spanish class field trips even when I wasnt in the class. Anybody that ever had her for a teacher loved her and will miss her. Prayers from her home town :saint:
  3. yeah, well how 'bout them COWOBYS! :happy65:
  4. Buddy i believe the topic is 13 2A BOYS Basketball? Who's gonna do what? last time i checked mp chapel hill was not in this district. So your post really is not relevant to this topic
  5. I dont believe there parents were there when i walked up and down the halls of WHS with them. Idk i guess they could have been hiding in the lockers. :getlost: But i did ask a lot of the girls and so have most everybody else year after year the answer is always the same. They dont want to play the sport. Possibly because they know nothing about it im sure. But they are clearly not interested. The ones that dont play bball play softball or they are cheerleaders. some of them do the trifecta. Also there is tennis golf and cross country. If you asked the girls or any of the athletes in general from anytown about there opinion on any of these threads it would cut out most of the arguing that seems to come from the know it all parents. I believe there should be a section on smoaky where everybody can read the threads but only the athletes can leave comments. Just my opinion
  6. Its not a conspiracy braniac its a census. None of the girls in this town want to play volleyball. The girls grow up breathing basketball and thats all they want and know is the tradition and to be part of it. Have you ever walked on our state championship caliber gym floor. i doubt it. it is always in perfect condition. As big as basketball is in this town, vball would ruin the floor. Dont try to compare some other place that has both teams and still have nice courts because i honestly doubt you have played on either. I have and i know what im talking about. All of the bball players in winnsboro know we may not have the nicest gym but the best court. So please none of you people who question us are from here so you dont know what your talking about. The program was ended and now is not wanted. I dont know how much easier that can be explained yet im sure there will be some more highly educated, knowledgable remarks about this one
  7. Winnsboro Boys! because im an alumni and i always root for the underdog.
  8. Just throwing this out there but I was an All-District football player and we went to playoffs, then i played basketball and we went to playoffs, then yes I had to run track qualified for regionals and also had time to lead my baseball team to a District Championship and got All District honors there. You dont have to sacrafice anything. You just have to organize. Im not going against what your saying at all but just dont bad mouth a coach that requires some other effort outside his sport. You can still get things done
  9. wow! you people amaze me. Before you completely run down Winnsboro's girls basketball team let me make a suggestion. move to winnsboro. live there long enough to study and learn the tradition and strategy of the team. Dont give suggestions on how they should play untill you know exactly how they get it done. Its not complicated really. They have one offensive play with one mentality. Pass it till you get open and take good shots. They only run one defense. You can not ask a team that starts a season already expected to make it to state to shut it down when they are winning. it just throws them off. teams have problems playing complete games because they dont know how to finish. When you get on somebody you finish them and dont let them breathe. Now the 100 point mark is a big mark in any basketball game. Winnsboro will play there game untill that gets into reach and then they will shut down completely and stall. I dont know how many times i have seen Coach Hawkins shut them down so they could not reach it. As a winnsboro fan you want them to get it, but also realize that is as much class as needs to be shown out of a state champ expected team. now the ole boy that commented earlier sayed they didnt run up the score but still made it to the ship and learned some lessons along the way. You did not mention anything about winning so im guessing you lost. are you sure you learned the right lessons? Anybody with any problems with winnsboro and how they play need to come to a game and look up on the wall at the red banners. That is the pride that the athletes play with in this town and with that the people of this town put that pressure on the the shoulders of the boys and girls. Its whats expected. The only reason you want to run them down is because you do not understand. Anybody with a problem with this post will not be from Winnsboro I can assure you. Move here and learn the tradition and you will want nothing else. And parents please stop complaining. You are not the ones getting beat its your kids who are the same age as their opponents. If your kids are not any good dont let them play and they wont have to be humiliated by actual athletes. If they do have talent move to somewhere they can contribute.
  10. i agree with the other ol' boy. if people got things just because they deserved them then there wouldnt be a reason to play the game. Both teams deserved to play in the game saturday because they battled all year and won their way there. Both teams played very hard. But you want to say they deserve to win because they can make a comback? come on that doesnt make good sense. If they deserved to win more then PP they should have never been in a postion to have to comeback. Winnsboro still got there chances though. Whether or not the last turnover was a fumble or not that doesnt matter. To my knowledge there were three other turnovers in the game. Two on fourth down and an int. Penalties killed as well. Dont get me wrong i believe Winnsboro is the better team, but PP came out of the gate with there heads screwed on straight and did everything they had to do to win. If you want to go by who deserves things, then by the way it was played PP deserved to win. All around they played a much better game. Winnsboro played a good second half.
  11. focus and dedication maybe. i think its more about learning from your mistakes. Last year we took Thanksgiving day off while Farmersville practiced that day in the sleet and snow. It showed who wanted it more the following night. I think this may have something to do with tomoro's practice
  12. just something to think about. The last time Winnsboro played a mid-afternoon playoff game was in 2001 against Commerce. Which happens to be the last time they made it to the third round. They lost that game to the eventual state champs. knowing this it could be bad or knowing if they win they could be state champs themselves. idk. thought it was kind of ironic
  13. If that actualy works i will personaly want to meet you and shake your hand.lol
  14. It will be played in Royse City, just not sure on which night.
