to say garbage TD's is a little rough...Alto is good everybody knew that they are established...tough for SA to run into them in their second game in a new program...looked good on 1st drive scoring fast but stalled on the second one and when you do that against an established team like alto who doesnt make many mistakes on offense or at all for that point...you are going to get behind fast especially when things have gone that way b4...keep your heads up SA u had your bright flashes of excellence just got to put it all together next week

Well said txfight...SA is really choosing there own destiny in this game...I don't mean that they r supposed to win but more so they can if they play with emotion not on emotion and don't let big plays either way effect their play...alto has had a program and already plays with great team attributes...this is sa's chance to prove 1 that they r for real and 2 that they r a team and plays as one

San Augustine has the speed and the ability to beat Alto...just have to put 2 and 2 together...alto is big at running back and will be tough to stop but it can be done....if SA is firing on all cylinders i take SA over Alto 7+

no i am not...guess again lol jk...but really im not i agree nasty and being .500 for a few years isnt a horrible thing as long as what i said earlier is happening...that you are building a team who wants to work hard and be a TEAM...and that will start at the Jr High level and building that mentality then...it always helps having a power house so that the young kids will look up to what is happening and saying man i want to be like them when i am older and win all the time...thats what you have to build your team around is actually a TEAM

you dont have to have a big stand out stud to be good...sure there isnt another glenn walking the hallway or even a sturns...but you dont need that to be successful...ask any good coach...give them a group of guys that want to commit to a program and work their butts off and work together as a team...you will win

there is plenty of talent walking those hallways in rusk,tx...just have to be reached

i also would would like to back up that i was in no way meaning to run down coach mahaffey or question his integrity or anything like that but it is obvious that something has changed from the way things used to be and its not a lack of talent...in my own opinion the discipline and pride has fallen away...correct me if i am wrong but isnt discipline the main reason Sturns is not playing for a big D1 school? i could be wrong but i thought thats what i remember hearing...once again in no way was i putting down coach mahaffeys personal morals or integrity but dont say there is no other coach who doesnt have just as much. about the "stepping stone" thing...no way is the board gonna consider bringing in a coach who doesnt want to be there for a while so i feel that the board is going to consider who wants to be there for the long haul and build this program on top of what Mahaffey has started and maybe get past the 3rd round :thumbsup:

i'd have to agree with uniballer...and totally back it up on his thoughts that either one of those would be there for a while and want to fully bring back the tradition, moraly, and integrity to the red and black

ha ha trust me i was an east texas kid who is now going to college in central texas...in no way am i doubting Tatum...i love east texas and it football and undoubtingly(spelling?) think that east texas does have the best football in the state after seeing a few high school games around here and thats funny dirty bird...i started laughing when they did it and i quote...i told the people i was sitting with from salado...oh dont worry...ya'll will get all you want...i have been saying that yea they are doing good...but watch out when they run into tatum...they better bring their A game...i have said that all playoffs long...so dont doubt me east texasness lol ;)

no nothing that fast but their speed isnt horrible....i think it will be a really good game...i have never actually seen tatum play but close family members have and i think tatum will win but salado will give them a run for their money...dont slack off because it is a bunch of central tx kids...they are legit

alright tatum fans...as i sat in the stands at the salado vs. santa rosa game after they scored their last TD the fans were chanting we want tatum...we want tatum...we want tatum....then the cheerleaders lead it after that... I've seen them play twice and both times they have been pretty stout...they are big up front and give that 1400 yd. passer time to throw...and the running back finishes every run...he runs very hard...the defense scored 3 td's i believe though so the offense didnt have to do much....but dont take this score too hard...santa rosa was horrible anda kid started a fight because he got hit hard...thats kinda irrelevent to this thread but i thought it was funny....Salado plays good team ball and this will be a battle between power and speed ps...any other ?'s just ask...i might have an answer

Texas will not beat A&M with Colt McCoy at QB....and McGee on the other side...McCoy to me does not fit the system in texas and is trying to live up to be Vince Young...he trys to run outside the pocket to much and then doesnt hold on to the football when he gets tackled for a loss...it will be a miracle of God if Texas beats A&M with Cold McCoy at QB!!!!

i would love to see grapeland win but i just dont see it happening...tenaha is to fast and very athletic...i say tenaha by 2 touchdowns
