  1. What you mean what happened? If you concerned with the the number 7th in the state, then keep reading and watching the stats and newspapers, and you will find out. Apparently, that particular player was a threat and a concern to your a whole team. So continue to follow and keep your eye on him.
  2. I think they should and the reason why because if you own a home you still continue to pay school taxes in that area weather you have a kid attend school or not so Yes if you kid is home schooled and you are paying taxes within that district. Your property taxes are paying for all of the athletic equipment and facilities.
  3. W.O. has one of the best teams in years. The tradition runs deep throughout the community. I graduated from W.O. in 1985 and I'm proud of W.O. football team especially from all of the years of losing seasons and the program has turned around. I think that this will be a good game and wishing both teams good luck. My inlaws are from Daingerfield so I have mixed reviews about this game. Pulling for W.O. because I grew up there. Lets go Necks. 28 - 31 Necks win in O.T.
  4. Well i came pretty close to my prediction 48 - 17. Dang SH you couldn't spot me the 17 points. O well g Way to go NECKS.
  5. As a former player from the class of 1985 this rivalry was always one of the best in texas. It was such a fun game to play in because we were all really good friends don't get me wrong it was competitive but at the end of the day we were all good friends and still to this day the friendship is still alive. I haven't seen either team play in years but each year i search for this game and the results. So my predictions for the 2015 White Oak Roughnecks vs Spring Hill Panthers. Necks 48 Panthers 17. Go Necks!! DTD.
  6. Lion70 Lion70 Posted Today, 05:02 AM For the record I don't think Gilmer would win but would love to see this game. Of course it will never happen cause there is too much to lose for Longview. @ Lion70 I agree with you and I'm a true Lobo Fan. I would love to see this game regardless of the outcome.
  7. Well I like to say good luck to both teams coming from an old roughneck grad. I can remember Yoe winning state back in 81 when they beat a very good Gilmer Team. That game could have easily been against W.O. if the UIL had of taken 2 teams to the playoffs instead of one. Gilmer beat a very very great W.O. team by a field goal. The score was 3 - 0 Gilmer. It saddens me to see all of the trash talking between 2 very good teams. This game could possibly go down in Texas High School Football History. I'm pulling for the Necks rightfully so since I graduated from there but I do have much respect for Yoe as I have watch them play in 2 state games against Daingerfield(my wife is from Daingerfield). Good luck to both teams. My prediction? We as Texas High School Football Fans will see a great game played by 2 great teams. Enjoy and Travel Safe Everyone.
  8. Attention Gladewater Bears!!!! Argyle has a stud at runningback #22. He is very big and will drag you. I attended the Gilmer vs Argyle game at Kincade and I'm very impressed with Argyle. The QB has a very strong arm and the receivers run precision routes. When it appears that the QB is about to be sacked the receivers never gives up. The skill positions are very fast. The runningback is huge like 6'1 or 6'2 about 220 or 230. Everytime Gilmer tried to tackle this guy they would always go up high and he would drag 3 to 4 of them everytime at least 5 to 10 yards I think he even drag them 12 - 15 yards. You will have to bring this guy down around his legs. Warning Warning Warning. When they run the ball they like to hand off to the rb and he will hesitate a bit and then cutback and drag you. This is a very good Argyle Team. Good Luck Bears!!!!
  9. Next Venue should be AT&T Stadium if available for the Lobos. That is if the Lobos make it past McKinny Boyd.
  10. White Oak Wins 56 - 54. Great Game. Congrats to the Roughnecks and Coach Boyett. Great Game
  11. Any word if this weekend UIL State Boys HIgh School Basketball Tournament will be streaming on the net?
  12. I attended the game and all I can say is WOW! One of the best Texas High School Playoff Football Games ever. SLC QB is the real deal scored 5 tds but the Desoto Eagles came together and pulled the win through. One thing that I can say about this game and I really admired is when Desoto head coach C. Mathis made the decision to put his best Athletes on the the field the whole game meaning that he had a few of his offensive starters to play on defense. They played both ways that is what I called stepping up and doing what you have to do. That decision is one of the factors that helped Desoto to come from behind and win the game. I know that the lower classifications do this all of the time but it is highly uncommon for the 5A classifications to make that type of changes. Great call Coach and great Win!!
  13. The Lobos ended their season just like the way the started it. Coppell game, fumbles and interceptions cost the lobos that game and the exact same thing cost them the game against a very week Austin Westlake team. Hats off to Westlake on how to capitalize on Turnovers and that is what you are suppose to do. You won the game Congrats but I was not impressed. People say that you should not blame King I totally blame King. Here's how: 1. Watching a few games on Youtube of Westlake and one can tell that they pride themselves on stopping the run therefore by the footage everybody in the world knows exactly what Westlake will do against a run team like the Lobos. Stuff the middle so that means that the passing game should be effective. Usually the saying is the passing game will open up if you have an effective running game but this time you will have to establish the passing game to establish the run and that did not happen. Running up the middle was not effective especially when it is 3rd down and 4 or 5. Guess what King everybody in the whole world knows that you about to run up the middle so why do it? Guess what you were stopped and had to punt. What happened to bootleg and play action passes? 2. I don't know what kind of football program that don't address fumbling problems. That is unbelievable not to work on total ball control. Superbowl winning Dallas Cowboy coach Jimmy Johnson use to say "if you fumble the ball you will be cut tomorrow". With the exception of Emmitt Smith. Ball Control should be addressed by the head coach and if a player continues to have those problems then bench him or make him run wind sprints until he gets it. What happened to the drill at practice where you have two lines and the back runs between the two lines and everybody tries to strip the ball. If that ball pops out guest what line it up young man we will run until you learn how to hold on to the ball. This game is a game that Lobos should have won. Like I said at the beginning of this post the Lobos season ended just like the way it started. Turnovers, Turnovers and more Turnovers. 9 turnovers ended the season and at the start of the season it was 8.. Where's the improvement? <_<

  15. I travel to all of the Lobos playoff games so it doesn't matter to me one bit. As far as the UIL would not allow a this game to be played in Shreveport is not a correct statement because a few years ago a playoff game against Mesquite Horn was played in Shreveport. Not much showing from the Mesquite Horn fans but the Lobos fans were there as expected. By your responses it seems to me that you are the one who would not like to travel. Playing in Tyler could accommodate but I was looking at all of those who come to game and have to stand in the endzones or standing on the hills. All in all wherever this game is played I will be there.
  16. The reason why I said Cowboy Stadium and I now know it will not be available. But believe or not there is alot of interest in the DFW area when two 5A powerhouse teams from East Texas play in the playoffs. If this was a regular season game your statement would be correct. I live in the DFW area and I do hear from alot people who lives in the DFW area who would love to attend a playoff game between both of these teams as long as they do not have to drive outside of the DFW area. True High School football fans would love to watch High School football. As far as playing the game in Shreveport I could see this game very much being played there simply because of the success of the Lobos playing there and the $$$$ it would draw in. I surely would not play this game in your backyard ie SFA or NAC. Rose Stadium would not be an option simple because a game of this magnitude could not accommodate both teams fan base(pack house there will be standing room only). I'm a Lobo fan but playing this game at SFA or NAC will not be the smart thing to do. Corsicana, Waco should not be an option either. Just my opinion.
  17. I would try to get this game in Cowboy Stadium because this game would be a big draw for DFW people. I'm looking at it as a $$$$ perspective or Drag Lufkin to Shreveport but would not play them no where near their home field ie SFA or NAC.
  18. Lobos get ready for Dallas Jesuit passing attack. They have an all state receiver UT commit. From what I could see last night Rowlets passing attack was a big concern for the Lobos. I have to agree with Lobonation. Hasty should be the Lobos starting runningback regardless to the fact that he is just a Sophomore. Time management is a big concern and I completely don't understand it. Why does it take soooo long to call a play?
  19. People lets us not forget that Southlake Carrol who crossed the line from 4A to 5A and went on to win state in their first 3 years(2004,2005,2006) in 5A. So for someone to say that there is a big difference between 4A and 5A ball just travel back in time and research the Southlake Carroll Dragons under Todd Dodge leadership.
  20. Let me digress. I was a freshman playing on the JV then. I was talking about the years that I actually played. I'm speaking only for the years that I actually participated in. Spring Hill could not beat us. From my Freshman year to my Senior year. Only two of those years I actually played on the varsity 1983 which I scored the only TD. We won 9 - 7 and in 1984 I mainly played Defense as the starting SLB in which we shutout SH by the score of 26 - 0. That year was Spring Hill first year in 3A. Both Varsity games were played at White Oak.
  21. I played for W.O. 81 thru 84 and Spring Hill couldn't beat us. This was one of the games that I truly enjoyed not only because of the competition between the two teams but of the friendships that we all had for each other. We all played to win but at the same time it was who will be able to talk trash to each other respectively for the next year. The Spring Hill vs White Oak games were always alot of fun as well as all of the xtras leading towards the game. The memories.
