Pretty sure it will be an outside hire. I am hearing that the two current staff members who interviewed were told today they did not get the job. -

MV can still have a good solid team, you are right, Winny will be more talented than everyone in the district except for the school you have apparently forgotten about. Pottsboro will be the most talented team in the district for the foreseeable future, also, in the MV/Winny rivalry, the most talented team does not always win! -
I would not count Idalou out! Anyone who knows anything about girl's basketball knows that Region 1 is loaded every year! If you get out of that region, you are for sure battle tested! Don't know much about Idalou but I bet they play great man to man defense, will be real patient on offense and make Fairfield play defense, and probably shoot the ball really well. I look for that to be a really good game! Guess we will find out in about 2 hours! Good luck to everybody at State!

Football -- "Simple" offenses vs "Complex" offenses
bucksweeprules replied to Monte1076's topic in High School Sports
The wristbands don't tell you what to do in my experience. They simply help the coach convey the play call faster, which makes it harder on the defense. Also, most spread offenses do not use wristbands anymore. Most information is signaled in. -
Football -- "Simple" offenses vs "Complex" offenses

Interesting thread. A misconception that I think most people have is that "spread" offenses are extremely complex, or that they are soft or finesse. Most spread offenses are very simple to learn and execute. Also, the plays just mentioned in the post above this one, being the lead, power, sweep, trap and veer are staples of most spread offenses. Good spread offenses have effective power running games, just ran out of a spread formation. -

Who won? -
I know there is a doubleheader on Monday at Mt Pleasant High school. First game at 6 is Chapel Hill vs Paul Pewitt. Second game at probably 7:30 is Mt Vernon vs Redwater.
