  1. Are we talking Baseball or Basketball?
  2. Jamie Driskell has done a marvelous job at Malakoff and deserves the field turf.
  3. Just wanted to say a big thank you David for adding the two guys on the historical section from Corsicana. I've been meaning to post those names for a few years now and just got side tracked. Hagle was the star running back on the '63 State Champions and Allison was his back up. Allison was the hoss on the number one team in the state in '65, undefeated until San Antonio Lee and Pat Sheehan and Bruce Kemp hung a 26-21 loss on the Tigers. Once again, thanks David and toll readers, David Smoak is a good man and does a great job here at Smoaky.com, also he cuts a mean car commercial !!!
  4. Jim Hagle- All State running back for Corsicana 1963, Bill Allison-All State running back for Corsicana 1965. Hagle played for SMU and the Atlanta Falcons, Allison played for Arkansas , East Texas State and Kansas City Chiefs and Toronto in Canada.
  5. Rumors. Some people said he said some deragotory words in a meeting. Don't know but I do know he has been a perfect gentleman around me and always keeps me informed. About all a coach can do is win and keep his kids in line, anything after that would have to be decided by the "Suits".
  6. Coach Cobb's bunch were the best hitting team in the district. The Pierce kid is a good one. Coach better get it done this year, he loses some pretty good talent. As I said before Cobb is a good coach and a good guy. I enjoyed covering some his games this year. What i really liked is the fact he e-mailed me the results and box score after every game. Only coach in the district to do so.
  7. Lots of "Experts" on here. Clifton will do a good job for Grapeland.
  8. They actually tied with Lovelady and Kennard won the flip. But Coach Cobb did a marvelous job this year.
  9. They will play at Nacogdoches High School. First game Friday at 7.
  10. A GREAT BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE SMOAKSTER !! BY THE WAY DAVID MY SON CHAD ALSO CELEBRATES MAY 2ND WITH YOU!
