  1. From The Longview News Journal.... 2. I'm thinking the point 74Eagle was making was this...Tatum will be proud to go up to 3A and compete...whether they make the playoffs or not...AS COMPARED TO perhaps being a current 3A contender in the playoffs, dropping to 2A and and THEN not making the playoffs. And no, I do not think it was directed at any team or school or coach, etc....it was a general statement. dentondude...for a person who runs their mouth like an encyclopedia, you sure don't keep up with what's current in the world. And at the end of the day...this thread was created to offer congrats to Tatum...not tear them down for a season that has not happened yet or make predictions about what will/will not happen. Daughters...I think you're from Troup?? You guys have a great team...and I look forward to reading about your team doing awesome things next year! And finally...Congrats to Tatum...all of you have made a LOT of people very proud and we ALL look forward to next year's season!
  3. Headed north...will be there in about 4 hours... Although my heart belongs to Tatum, I wish the very BEST to both teams! dentondude...I'll be saving you a seat.
  4. Awesome! I have class in the morning and can't be there tonite so I'll be listening on the radio again...but I'll be headed that way from Houston ASAP tomorrow afternoon!! Lots of luck to the Lady Eagles...most especially to that cutie at 3B!! :happy65:
  5. So how's the weather around Longview this day? Are the fields going to be in good shape for tonite's game?
  6. Reagan Smith...Tatum...she (and all but one of the team) will be returning next year.
  7. Thanks BirdMan...great definition! Has the location been announced for the Tatum/Harmony game?
  8. Thanks rcshombre....you've certainly shed some light on the situation!
  9. I also thought first base had to be unoccupied for the dropped third strike rule to count...but I've seen it in several games this year. I did a search on the NFHS website (which I read on the UIL site as the governing body for HS softball) and I still did not find an answer. I know a lot of rules get tweaked every year and just assumed that was one that was changed. In addition, I remember the rule also stating "less than 2 outs"...but it's been applied when there WERE 2 outs. (Maybe I'm thinking ASA??) If someone has the scoop on this rule (when it was changed, perhaps?) I surely would like to know the details....just out of curiosity! As for not stepping on home plate, probably in the rush and the "panic" of dropping the ball, basic instincts kicked in to throw to first...but stepping on home plate should have aquired the third out.
  10. Yep...all 10! I think I overheard her dad saying she was just getting warmed up! LOL
  11. :happy65: Congrats ladies! :happy65: Can we please do this again Friday night...but in SEVEN innings? Ya'll are hard on an ol' gal's nerves! LOL
  12. I hope game #3 is Friday after game #2 (if necessary)...prom is Saturday!!!
  13. Well let's see....I had nearly 20 people staying at my house and an additional 70 for an entire day for a company party...complete with bosses/vp's. I talk to my daughter before and after every game in addition to listening via streaming audio. This coming weekend I have a charity event for which a company has paid $1500 for me to attend...again, I will listen via streaming audio. God willing and the creeks don't rise, they'll win the series this weekend and I'll be at every game possible afterwards. And dentondude, you don't have to explain to me about "growing up and moving away"....I also have a 22 year old daughter who lives 3 hours away from me just as the younger one does.
  14. Oh...and congrats Lady Eagles for your 11-1 win tonight over Mart!
