  1. By EVAN GRANT / The Dallas Morning News [email protected] Milton Bradley has said he intends to parlay his career-best 2008 season into a multiyear deal or he won't play in 2009. Now, he gets to see if his demands will be met. Bradley and four other eligible Rangers filed for free agency Thursday on the first day of the filing period. Hank Blalock, on whom the club the holds a $6.2 million option for 2009, pitchers Jamey Wright and Jason Jennings and infielder Ramon Vazquez also filed. The Rangers have had several conversations with Bradley's agent, Sam Levinson, but were not surprised by Bradley's decision. Bradley can start to talk with other clubs immediately but can't discuss contract terms before Nov. 13. "Milton had a great year, and it may be best for him to get a feel for the market," general manager Jon Daniels said. We'll keep the lines of communication open." The Rangers are expected to pick up Blalock's option, but have another full week before they must act. It could be a busy week. The Rangers have expressed interest in talking with Milwaukee pitching coach Mike Maddux about joining the staff. The Rangers have not been able to talk with Maddux, but his contract expires today, and the club can contact him without impunity Saturday. Milwaukee named Ken Macha manager on Thursday, but made no announcement about whether Maddux would return. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Does anyone know the contract status for Josh Hamilton?
  2. I was told that GW didn't take some of their kids to the game this week and that the Cubs used a 7th Grade QB. Not making excuses but I think that if the GW had had all its guys this wouldn't have been much of a game.
  3. Why doesn't Gladewater just beat either Gilmer and Chapel Hill and be done with it.
  4. No. If your district record is worse than the Bears, you do not go. Because it only goes to head-to-head if you have identical district records.
  5. Gladewater's Offense will give the Buckeyes some fits. I'm glad to see this rivalry meaning something this year. Should be a close one. GW 33 Gilmer 32 Bring on the ridicule.
  6. I think my friend ricky is speaking about the movie Nap. Dynamite in which Uncle Rico sells tupperware. Now, getting back to football. Gladewater's offense is for real. Just ask everyone they have played. The Bears can run the ball. I don't think that the Panthers can stop them. GWater 43 Bullard 34
  7. Gladewater should win and they are remembering some of the last couple games and how the scores ended up. Gladewater shows up on a mission Friday night. G'water 58 SH 20

  9. With the recent history between the two programs, I am shocked to see this thread on Page 4. Come on guys...somebody has to have something to say...
  10. Hell hath no fury like an Eagle scorn...good luck baseball...you are on your own.
  11. Must be from Sabine...football season is over in Liberty City! Bust out the basketballs.
  12. It looked like Tatum had a tough time defending the pass against the Bears last week, Gladewater just couldn't catch the ball...players running wide open down the field dropping passes. If Tatum doesn't correct their coverage issues Bullard will give them a "pass" for their money.
  13. Chapel Hill is a good team. Gilmer is a good team. Should be a good game. Enough said. Chapel Hill 37 Gilmer 35
  14. I think that WO had their eyes opened a little bit last week. Just cuz you drop down from 3A doesn't mean you are just gonna show up and win. It didn't work for Jefferson 2 years ago, and it ain't gonna happen this time either. Having said that, I think that Winona just caught WO at a bad time and the Necks will be playing with some enthusiasm. WO 43 Winona 23
  15. ummm....Raider....uh...they already played...EF won
  16. Hmm...Good thing my credibility isn't very good. Anything can happen on Friday Night. Congratulations EF!
  17. Good game Tatum...Your guys played better than ours this week. I do think though that if the Bears had tackled a little better the outcome would have been different but it is now time to get ready for Spring Hill.
  18. The Bears will bounce back in this one. What happened to the Leath kid????
  19. Grammar...lol. But you guys are absolutely correct. If you don't want to pray at Union Hill games you don't have to. Of course you could always just not go to the game or sit in your car till after they pray. You aren't being forced to pray.
  20. My point exactly. If you don't want to pray you don't have to. Thank you Strawberry. :happy65:
  21. Are they forcing you to pray? Do they stop you at the gate and say if you aren't going to pray before the game you will be denied entrance???? If the players/coaches and the faculty and the other fans are fine with it, shut your mouth, let them pray, and then enjoy the game. If you say there should be no prayer before a game you are letting religion win. You are letting the non-religious religion win. Just because you may not agree with it, I promise that here in the heart of East Texas you are going to be the minority.
  22. Should be a good one...Had this one circled on the calendar for awhile.
  23. I love Tatum! If you guys were 5-0 right now you wouldn't be saying everyone is 0-0. Let's forget about non-district shall we. That is what every team with high expectations and underwhelming results says before district. If it didn't matter why would they count it towards your overall record? Granted it doesn't count towards the playoffs but it isn't completely meaningless.
  24. I would love it if the Pokes pulled this one out but Mizzou is good...I mean real good. Having said that though I will stay true to my school... Pokes 34 Mizzou 31
