  1. There is a reason he was recruited as a lb by most schools when we was coming out of HS. good luck to him.
  2. The Ags and the new stadium were looking for a top notch game that could be played year in and year out. Ags and Arkansas fit that bill. TCU and the Ags don't. Why would the Ags give TCU a home game year in and year out? This is a good thing for the Ags and the Hogs!!!!
  3. As an Ag this is a great idea. Arkansas has never been a major player for Texas talent (yes they do get some) so recruiting is not a big deal. This is a game that will get some national play and benefits both schools. Also, the payout isn't a bad piece to the pie either. Good job Ags and Hogs. :happy65: :happy65: :happy65: :happy65: :happy65:
  4. It depends on the sport. I had some high school football and baseball coaches to this day, that I talk to and bounce things off of them. I would have eaten my own right arm to play for them, if they said to do it. they pushed me, they loved me, they educated me and they supported me. I wasn't all that great but am still thankful for them. I ran CC and track and my coach wasn't much of anything. He didn't participate and wasn't very supportive. I ran at the state meet and national meets w/ much support from him. But I wanted it. I wanted to be the best and I pushed myself. I don't know where he is and really don't care. His whole purpose in my HS career was to setup the track meets and drive the bus to and from the meets. I ran distance and he was offensive line coach. don't really go hand in hand together. Not a bad guy, but he didn't have anything to do with my success. just my opinions.
  5. You can teach them baseball. I have seen teams (at the all-star level) that could turn a double play. These kids can learn what you are willing to teach them. From coaching different youth sports at different levels, here are some things I would recommend: 1. Kids at that level take everything literal. When you say go stand by that kid, you may mean go stand in the same area or behind or in front. The kids will go stand side by side b/c you said go stand by that kid. Remember this and things will be easier for you. 2. Get the parents involved. The younger the parents, the worse they are. Get them involved and they will be on your side. The first couple of times you ahve the kids running bases, have their parents be the base in stead of an actual base. The kids will love it and the parents will love it. 3. Don't overwhelm them. they can learn anything, but don't jump to step 10 if you are still on step 2. Remember, they don't know anything, so don't assume they understand what you are talking about. Keep going over the basics (what is a pitcher, what is shortstop, etc) and you won't pull your hair out. 4. Play games with them that teach them drills. Scrimmaging will bore the kids that just stand around while the other kid is trying to hit. HAve one group hitting, another group catching a ball and another group throwing. One thing we did to help kids w/ hand eye coordination and to get over the fear of a baseball is to play hot potatoe with the ball. Plenty of games and drills you can do that are fun and the kids are learning. 5. HAVE FUN!!!! IF YOU ARE HAVING FUN, THE KIDS WILL THEN HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
  6. We are based out of Denton and Wise country. If you are looking for a good 12u team I would looke at the East Texas Colt 45s and the Texas Tar Heels. Both very good teams, good coaches and teams that play with class. There may be other teams, but these two teams we have seen over the years at different tournaments in Texas and Oklahoma.
  7. The Texas team is alot like the Aggies where last year. Very, very good guard play with solid front court play. In the tournament, that will carry them far. As an Aggie, this disgusts me. As a Texan, it makes you happy to see the Texas kids with a shot at a title. does any of that make sense?
  8. Dickinson's Ivory Wade has decided to become an Ag. He stands at 6'3 and 285 lbs and is projected to play guard. The Ags have commits from 4 of the 6 OL they have offered. Wouldn't surprise me if one of the others accepts shortly.
  9. Christine Michael from Beaumont West Brook has commited to the Ags. Arguably the top pure rb in the state has commited to the Ags. At 5'11 200 lbs with 4.45 speed, he is a human high light film. This goes with 3 top Ol that have commited to the Ags. Stephen Berrera 6'5 275 lbs Clear Lake Clint Naron 6'6 290 lbs Klein Oak Rhontae Scales 6'5 299 lbs Killeen Nice job by Mike Sherman. Some other top players should come this way shortly!!!
  10. Denton Ryan is going to be solid this year after a down year last year.
  11. That is what is being reported. ISU thinks he is theirs, A&M thinks he is theirs.
  12. I know several of us plan to be there as it will be a great game. I have NO CLUE to who will win!
  13. If you want to know what a full court press looks like, watch Ponder. You will see some of the least athletic kids play some of the best basketball that can be found. They will not impress you athletically, but fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals. How many 2A boys teams do you know that don't have a problem playing 4A boys teams? Should be a great game!!!
  14. Unfortunatly he has been released from both football and basketball teams and was arrested recently. so yes, his offer was pulled.
