  1. Who did Barker hire as his OC and DC?
  2. http://www.smoaky.com/statsrecords/View.php?ArticleID=287 You know when you look at this link - We are about to hire our 6th coach since 2003 (11 years) - Maybe its not the Coaches.
  3. I agree - I really thought the way downtheline and Laffy6 talked during the season, It would of been downthelines job to lose with Laffy6 as his OC
  4. For NL to keep things quiet this long, I really believe there is someone that was not listed in the top 5.
  5. Yeah your right, there would be a great chance Pitt and Gilmer would be in the same district - But no Kilgore, Chapel Hill, Carthage, Henderson, Paris, or North Lamar. You would rather have Gilmer in your district than play them in the first round. If they are in your district you wouldn't play till Regional Finals.
  6. I agree 100%, I think Pitt would be a great fit for Coach Meeks, and I also think Coach Meeks would be a great fit for Pitt. I would hate to lose him in Henderson, but not many people appreciate what he has accomplished for there town. Per smoaky.com History section - Henderson has only played in 27 play-off games in the history of the school, 14 of those 27 have came under the last three years with Coach Meeks - Not to mention the State Championship. So instead of enjoying what Coach Meeks and his players have done for the community, lets dog his staff because its family.
  7. I think Pitt is a diamond in the rough. Always have athletes and players. Sometimes not lineman but always have skill players. Why do people think Henderson is the Holy Land?
  8. As I said in my post, other than the two coordinators (Barker and Little) Most of the staff is the same. Strickland, Woodard, Brown, Meeks, Meeks, Tanner, Burleson all were on that staff. There are only 3 varsity coaches on staff now that were not on the 9 man varsity staff at that time. So say what you want, but its very very close to the same.
  9. LIONMAN - Can you not make up your mind on who you support? Just a few topics ago (Henderson v Gilmer) during the season you were talking about how the coaching staff out coached teams to win in the past. Its the same coaching staff other than the coordinators, which were on staff at the time. "Im really liking this thread and looking forward to the game. Really feels like all the hype the Championship game had in 2010 when Henderson was supposed to get man handled by Chapil Hill. Wait...... what happened there? Oh I know, Henderson got overlooked and the opponent got out coached. " LIONMAN - Can you not make up your mind on who you support? 10. Dear Lord, Why do you allow such violence in our schools? Love Pupil Dear Pupil, I am not allowed in your schools. Love The Lord
  11. See that's where it all becomes irrelevant, until you can recruit in high school, you cannt judge a coach every year on wins.
  12. And Henderson could also go to District 20 with Carthage - Its only a 5 team district as well
  13. UIL killed the schedule making District 16-3A a 7 team district. Now you have to take your bye in district. There is no reason why District 14-15-16 3A are not all 6 team districts. Instead 14- 5 Teams, 15 - 6 Teams, 16 - 7 Teams.
  14. Well maybe you should go up there this spring and help them out with the situation. I bet you have a lot of experience coaching quarterbacks and managing a program.
  15. I apologize I didn't see in your post where your opinion changed.
  16. Henderson's own Sports Writer picks the other Team? Man nice loyalty.
  17. Well if you want to Crown Their A-- then Crown Them, But they were who we thought they were, And we let them off the hook.

  19. It might not happen, but why would you want your program to rely on a "shot." I would much rather prefer a guy that has proven his creditials, that an assistant that can give it a shot. Just because they are apart of a staff doesn't mean they will produce the same results.
  20. How does Dylan Brown make 2nd Team All State when he wasnt even selected by his district? Politics? Del Barnes should be on this team, and not Honorable Mention.
  21. Dickey Meeks' boy at Henderson. He is the Quarterback coach. In his two years as a varsity coach, he had a QB sign with Baylor and took a junior with no varsity experience and turned him into a State Champion Quarterback. I look for him in a year or two to have some offers as an OC.
