Is the Newton Qb a freshman? Looks like a kid with good size in highlights I’ve seen.

Friday 6:00 at Abe Martin in Lufkin, haven’t seen that confirmed by anyone officially yet.

Harmony defense has been smothering. Other than a couple pass interference penalties the Tigers haven’t been able to establish anything on offense.

I’ve never trashed Daingerfield. Only thing I’ve ever said about them was the last week of the season and I said “I don’t know anything about them”. Maybe you have the wrong person.

I’m excited for this one. Can’t wait to see how it unfolds. I think I’ll probably be on the home side tonight.

I haven’t seen Arp play but I bet they’re a solid team. I hear they have a really good Qb and receiver, that could present some problems for the Eagles if Arp can regularly complete passes down the field. I just hope the Eagles aren’t caught looking ahead to Newton. Harmony has a very experienced senior led team so that shouldn’t be a problem but they are still high school kids. Good luck to both teams and safe travels to all involved. Gotta love Friday nights!

How soon do A&M fans expect the hire to be made?

Yeah I think this is a huge win. Everyone assumed if Texas had a 10-11 season then Quinn would’ve had a great season, be in the heisman hunt, and off to the NFL. Texas has a great shot at 10-11 wins and Quinn hasn’t had that type of season at all. This likely means you lose Murphy to the portal but Arch will get all the second team reps moving forward and with a 3rd year of Quinn under center you may have more blowout opportunities to get Arch in games. Texas will still have to replace a lot of talent but a couple well placed portal pieces and year 2 from a few freshmen already getting reps will make for a much smoother transition.

I think you have to swing at Lanning and Deboer. Lanning is going to demand Jimbo money, his buyout is $20 million alone, and Nike wouldn’t want to lose their coach to Addias. A&M could buy him but he’s your most expensive option by far. Deboer may want to leave Washington now with Penix in his final year. Question for him is his recruiting chops. Washington is 31st in recruiting right now off of a 10 win season last year and a top 5 team right now. A&M doesn’t have a problem recruiting so that may not matter. I’ll bet Traylor or Elko can be had any time A&M calls so you have 2 solid choices to fall back on. If you commit to one of these two, I think you’re committing to a slower, culture changing, roster flipping rebuild. Which with the portal isn’t a 3-4 thing anymore, it can happen quicker than before. Dabo would be the best cultural fit, he’d be all in on the A&M traditions but I think he’d be Jimbo 2.0 at A&M. Meyer is toxic at this point. Any coordinators would be big unknowns and I’m not sure that’s where you want to go with Texas and OU joining the SEC next year.

I watched Hooks to start the year and I watched Daingerfield to end the year. I think the Hooks run game will give DF problems but DF can score quickly. If you’re Hooks you need to tackle well in the screen game, dodge a few bullets in the deep passing game, and on offense stay patient in the run game. If Hooks can make this game about the line of scrimmage I think Walls can grind out a win but I expect DF to score early and force Hooks to play catch-up.

Texas was terrible on 3rd downs yesterday. 3-7 in the first half and 1-5 in the second half. I don’t know if it was conservative playing calling as much as it was their inability to pick up 3rd downs in the second half.

I’m pretty excited for baseball in the sec. The Big 12 wasn’t a bad baseball conference but the sec is going to be incredible.

Noticed that in real time. He followed the played, blew it dead, and then turned around to throw the flag.

Completely agree, I really thought KState should’ve kicked the FG because the longer that game went on the bigger advantage they’d have in the run game if it went to 2-pt conversions.

Murphy looked incredible during the scripted plays but outside of that he wasn’t good. KState got back in the game on the missed PI against Worthy before halftime. That led to a 3&out, blocked punt, and short field touchdown. Special teams won this game for Texas and cost the game for KState. I’ll add the Texas D was huge too. Texas is 2-0 with their backup QB. No matter how ugly, that says a lot about this team.

This game has entered bizarro world.

I was really hoping to see Hooks and Harmony round 2 this season. We might still get it, just a little later in round 4. Good luck Hornets.

I thought where the DF oline struggled was getting to the second level, specifically early in the redzone and on their last score when they had to burn a crucial timeout because Harmony got a TFL. The Harmony linebackers mad a lot of plays in this game and really limited the Tigers on offense.

Great game plan from the Eagle coaches and the kids believed and executed it well.

Ankle sprain, he didn’t go back in and was hobbling around afterwards. He won’t be running around much next week for sure but I bet he plays.

Clearly? Haha, Harmony is winning in the trenches. The game is being played on the Eagles terms. That could all change after half but DF hasn’t looked like the better team. The teams look evenly matched.
