  1. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Pitt’s biggest problem is genetic. They blamed previous staff and said this is the guy to turn it around. Now it’s the system. They’re biggest obstacle is just plain ol’ bad genetics.
  2. I wonder what Castles would have been able to do with a top 10 QB? I don’t think he ever had a top 10 in the state at any position, and yet he did pretty well.
  3. I’ve been saying it for years. Pitt doesn’t have a coaching problem, they have a genetics problem. Anna rolls.
  4. I hate the injury. I hope he makes a full recovery so life beyond football will be good. go Indians.
  5. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to a high school football game. My middle son is a coach now and I went to the Arp-Carlisle game. Eaves is legit. He would be a game changer at any level. With that being said, it’s going to take a great team to keep him check. I look forward to watching their run at a title this year. I’ve definitely become a Brody Eaves fan. I just wish he was 6’ and 210lbs with that speed. Fun kid to watch.
  6. I’ve known Thomas a few years now. Used to be his neighbor back in the day. He’s a fair river floater and has improved on his trash talking skills, but his real strength is his Brazilian jujitsu. I’ll take Sitton over Surratt in the second round by submission. People would pay good money to see them in the cage!
  7. It appears to me Baca wasn’t the problem. Which I knew from the beginning. He is a good coach. If he beats PG a few years ago, they play for a SC. That shows you that it’s more genetic and mental from the Pitt “faithful”
  8. Where have all of the old entertaining posters gone? I miss the franksandbeans, lugnut, heck even lion from Henderson. Smoaky has gotten dull.
  9. Coach Sitton is not related to anyone in Rusk. He is from East Texas. This is nothing more than Smoaky drama. I’ve witnessed first hand what the experts on Smoaky know about a situation with my son. Most people on here don’t know anything and are more than willing to make stuff up. Congrats to Coach Sitton and to Rusk ISD for hiring a coach of his ability and character.
  10. The passing game coordinator is from a long coaching family tree. His dad was the head coach at Cuero last year when they won it all. He’s a former college QB and knows his stuff. Hopefully Kilgore can keep him around, but he will move up the ranks quickly. He coached at the college level last year. As much as I dislike Kilgore, I have to root for their offense now. Dang it!!
  11. Tatum could not have made a better hire. Coach Holman is the type of man that makes men as well as football players. He’s a man with unquestionable integrity, a passion for the game, and a commitment to excellence. Congrats to Tatum and I just became a fan of the program.
  12. Why don't you enlighten everyone with your vast knowledge of coaching experience on the exact coaching issues that have plaqued Chapel Hill during Coach Sitton's tenure.
  13. I had the privilege of seeing him play basketball. My Chavis story is..... After taking the ball out of the net on made basket, he jumps out of bounds and fires a pass the length of the court to a snow birding teammate. The basketball never got higher than 4' off the court and was never caught by his teammate, due to the velocity. It hit the end wall of the gym at the same height that he released it from. The echo from the ball hitting the wall made everyone in the gym quiet..., instantly. Everyone just sat there for a couple of seconds in awe. I said then, that kid needs to play baseball. Greatest basketball throw I've ever seen, it had to in the 70 - 80 mph range...... A basketball!!!
  14. The kid from CH that transferred, went through the entire summer program, 2 a days, and the first game of the season before leaving the team and going to Longview. He was not in the top 5 best players at CH. He was in the top 10, but there were at least 6 better than him. If I'm not mistaken, he came in and became the starting DE in mid season. That means he stole a position from a Longview player. So the question would then be, could the top 5 players on that CH team not have done the exact same thing to the Longview roster. All 5 of the top 5 went to college to play, with 3 still playing and competing for starting spots this coming fall. Other 2 were casualties to injury and grades.
  15. Looks like that new guy at Pitt can coach
