  1. Glad to see he is doing well, one of the better hitters in ET. B-NUT
  2. I like the team defense of Pine Tree, but am not sure who they have coming back on the bump. B-NUT
  3. I agree with you unclebubba, they should be pretty good, and I too like Fant. As always, they should have a good defensive team on the field also. B-NUT
  4. Does anyone know the status of Gunner Baker from PC. He is a fun kid to watch, very nice swing. B-NUT
  5. I will go with the Indians. I feel they are by far the best coached team in this area. The discipline they show at the plate puts them way beyond their years. They really force the pitcher to throw quality pitches. Baker has looked really sharp on the mound the two games I have seen. 1 thru 9, they make you work, and it will take a very good effort to beat them. How is their pitching after Baker? B-NUT
  6. I agree, I was shocked Carthage did not make the change. B-NUT
  7. I would have to agree, Elkhart looks pretty solid at almost every position. When they are on, they will be tough. Reeves has really improved since I saw him pitch last year. He is one of the better 2a kids I have seen pitch this year> B-NUT
  8. There is a big difference between a #1 and an Ace. Every team has a #1, but few teams have an Ace. An Ace is a pitcher who you will throw against the other teams #1 or Ace if they have one. You can bet if a coach does not start his #1 against the other teams #1, he does not consider his kid an Ace. B-NUT
  9. I watched him pitch against Paris earlier in the year and he looked pretty good. Coach has changed his delivery, less flailing with the glove side, and it has really helped his control. Coach said "one game he may walk 12 and the next game he is lights out". He looked much better than in high school. If he keeps listening to the coaches there, he will do fine. B-NUT
  10. Cage is one of the best high school hitters I have seen this year. B-NUT
  11. First time I have seen Taylor pitch. He seems like a "pitch to contact" kind of pitcher. As long as your guys can make the plays, as Paris showed they could, he should do well. B-NUT
  12. Who does Alto have pitching this year? B-NUT
  13. A very enjoyable day of baseball. Carthage appears to be pretty deep in talent. I liked the pitching and the defense today. I hope to catch a lot of their games this year. B-NUT
  14. Moss, Minter, and Stone are the cream of the crop in this group. Baker from Carlisle may be the best pure hitter, Smith from Elkhart is in the top 3 catchers in ET that I have seen. Carthage, as a team is solid at every position. B-NUT
  15. I was able to watch the Cayuga righty during the summer. He was topping out at 83, mostly 80 to 81. He is no where near 88. He has a very good curve ball and fair to good change-up. B-NUT
  16. Thanks for the post eagles, health allowing, I am planning on catching a few of their games again this season. I really like watching the Copeland kid. He is a solid player. Region 14 is widely recognized as one of the top regions in JUCO baseball. B-NUT
  17. I mainly follow baseball, and for the past five years I have lived in this area. I have been fortunate to watch the Cross Roads vs Cayuga matchups. Some of the most competitive ball I have seen at the high school level. The big lefty pitchers from both teams (Ramsey from Cross Roads, and Thompson from Cayuga) have both graduated and moved on to top juco programs (NCTC and NTCC). Watching those two kids go against each other was a thrill each game. I think the district is wide open for Cayuga this year, but maybe in the years to come this competition could be re-kindled. B-NUT
  18. I think Elkhart is the favorite in the district. I thought they graduated their #1 starter from last year? I saw the Reeves kid pitch, and he is pretty crafty, below average velocity (75 to 77) but good breaking stuff. I agree Smith is a good defensive catcher. Overall, they have a solid team, maybe no really standout guys, but are well coached and play as a unit. B-NUT
  19. A man after my own heart, always thinking baseball. I will have to dig up my "cheat sheets" from last season, and then post some names. B-NUT
  20. I would think this would be a much sought after position. With what they have returning, they should be one of the expected favorites. They have some good baseball talent. B-NUT
  21. Ramsey from Cross Roads should have been 1A First Team Pitcher beyond a doubt. Nothing against Baker from Carlisle, but he was pitched against the weaker teams on their schedule. With a fastball short of 80mph, he does not compare with Craig, who could be dominating at times. My opinion only, B-NUT
  22. Congratulations to Colten, a good pitcher and a real hard worker. B-NUT
  23. There are very few A.D.'s out there that actually understand lifting for sports other than football, so they put everyone in a cookie cutter lifting program. For those that say that type of lifting is better than no lifting, they also are guilty of just not knowing and try to cover it up instead of putting in the work and reading the available material that is out there. Not trying to put anyone down, but tired of seeing good baseball players not getting the training that could move them to the next level. I have never, never seen a pitcher created in the weight room, but I have seen many ruined. B-NUT
