Most conservatives I know, say the same thing about the first woman president as well. I don't know why but it seems to be more about being the "first" of a particular group than about the group itself...W - the first Texas Governor to be President....I don't think America is rushing out to elect another Texas Governor for president...we see how that worked out for the current Texas governor and I doubt he will do better if he takes another shot at it. Kennedy - the first Catholic....no Catholics since...and my parents said that when Kennedy was elected, many said that his tenure would decide the fate of future Catholics running for president. When you are the "first" of anything it sets the bar for some folks that have small minds.
