well although my son graduated from overton last year, i want to say that it is an honor to watch you guys play and keep the tradition and dedication alive thanks for the ride stangs, keepup the good work!!!!

Thanks, 4everstang, for bringing that up...and since you did, I feel compelled to defend him a little bit. Yes, he had an issue Thursday nite and did not hold his tongue when he should have. We all get that...especially Williamson. But this same young man walked out on his own and apologized to his entire team after the game for letting them down. (I know grown men that will not do that!) Then he walked out and did the same to his parents. Ty Cobb and Stangfan4life, thanks for letting him know that he is needed and appreciated in his position...All who know him understand that what he does on first, he sees as routine ball playing. Anything less would not be acceptable to him. Finally, this team has a special chemistry and every player contributes...We need Trent,we need Spencer, we need Josh, EVERYONE contributes! Play-offs are where these boys shine...You get called upon to go in and you do your job! Darden will tell you he couldnt have 71 RBI's if no one on the team could get on base! This is a team of brothers with the same goal...UNFINISHED BUSINESS!!!!!!! GO GET'EM STANGS!

With a program that young, every player that has participated in building this program and the handful of fans that came and supported faithfully is to be congratulated. Can't remember the name but #10 pitched for Avery...Tight strike zone on both sides. Overton's Williamson did a great job...also had 4 RBI for the nite...had good defense behind him, as well!!! Congrats to the Overton Mustangs!

Beg to differ, Wright does have a good bat but in all reality it is either a HR or a strike out, dont recall many base hits by him. As far as his fielding, it needs alot of polishing, he had way to many errors on routine ####

Watched the game in Kilgore tonight and glad I did. Kilgore wins it 5-2. Ive been reading this post since last week and I have to say something about the pitching. According to some on this thread, Sharpe was all Kilgore had. Make no mistake, watched him some on the road this summer and he is a great pitcher! But I hate to see other kids get overlooked because of "the one". Heimer pitched a good game and Kilgore needed him tonight. He did his job and I just wanted to give him props!!! :clap:

no excuses here only thing i have to say is that otowns infield sucked greatly and did not at all back up the pitcher! WAY TO MANY ERRORS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, Cobb...Have to disagree with u there. Coach should have a little more control than that. Its hard to expect the kids to have self control and discipline when you display yourself like that. The "idea" behind his "tantrum" may have been noble but the way he handled it was not a very good example. But I guess it did keep him from getting ejected from the game....lol.
