  1. Congrats Arp coaches and players!!
  2. Wow, eaglefan. You need to change your name to something a lot more negative. What a terrible post. I have seen six-man teams with more size than Canton, yet they beat some good teams this year and gave Lorena a great game. We thought the Canton coaching staff deserves some big-time recognition. I have witnessed kids airball free throws at the state tournament, strike out looking to end state tournament games, and yes, blow coverage assignments in playoff games. It happens - young players make mistakes. Get over it and support your town's teams and students!!
  3. Center gives the Buckeyes all they can handle, but Gilmer prevails 35-30.
  4. As someone whose team qualified for Austin, I can tell you that this move was BADLY needed. Kudos to the UIL for making a wise choice. We had fans, family members, and members of our coaching staff who did not travel to Austin because they could not justify the huge expense. Especially after we made it to the final - three days of hotel. Now, I would never do that - playing for a state championship is an experience I would never miss, no matter what sport it is. But, these families/people made the decision not to go solely based on economics. That shouldn't happen. Austin doesn't value the girls and boys state tourney - they made that quite clear with their catering to SXSW. Only thing to do is take our business (UIL) elsewhere.
  5. Falls City is a small 1A (105-115 pop) south of Floresville on US 181. They are good at any sport they play, boys or girls. Solid community with hard-working kids and coaches. Their AD is as good as it gets for an AD who makes sure all sports reach their potential, mainly by hiring great coaches and letting them do their jobs. No, this isn't his father, either. :)
  6. I think Sooner might know this, but Mr. Ferguson had the chance to hire Eric Taylor at DeLeon and passed him over. Can you believe that? Something about a bad reference from Richard Belding.
  7. What an amazing accomplishment!! I am very happy for the players and Coach Enloe. I wish you the best of luck in the playoffs, ladies! - Randy Henderson Plains HS
  8. Obviously a top-notch program there in WO. Looks to be a solid athletic program all the way around.
  9. A true school supporter, right there. Well, Mr. Pitt, I guess you are stuck with bump, set, snooze.
  10. Well, Mr. Pitt, I guess you will have to just be content with going to watch the Pittsburg ladies play at the regional basketball tournament.
  11. Let's be careful before we start blaming someone else for the demise of VB in Pittsburg. I have seen many instances, in both sports, where one sport was more successful and coached well while the other was led by an individual who the athletes did not want to play for. I don't know if that is the case here, but I have met very, very few coaches who made a point to undermine someone else's program.
  12. I think Idalou had something to say about all this last year. Any precious ET 2A school ever win FB and BB state championships in the same year?
  13. good luck to that guy - AD loves to reassign basketball coaches.
