  1. Bad News for Driller's top man! League web site reports that Coach Viser's dad has passed away today. My family and I will be praying for him and his family in this trying time.
  2. The Drillers are back in action at home tomorrow night (5-8-2010) at 7 p. m. Be there or be Drilled!
  3. Turfcats Welcome Wallace, Miles to 2010 Roster Posted on April 20, 2010 AUSTIN, Texas (4/20/10) - The Austin Turfcats announced today that they have signed WR/KR Darrick Wallace. Wallace will be on the Turfcats' active roster beginning this Saturday, April 24, against Corpus Christi. Wallace (5'8", 175) was a key component of the Turfcats' 2009 SIFL campaign, with a total of 401 yards on 15 kick returns for 2 touchdowns and 253 yards on 5 field goal returns for 5 touchdowns, including a still-held SIFL league-record 59 yard return against Acadiana in the 2009 season opener. A veteran of the 50-yard game, and a standout at Grambling State, Wallace has previously played for teams in the af2, NIFL, and the Centex Barracudas and Katy Ruff Riders of the Intense Football League. Most recently Wallace was a standout player for the East Texas Drillers, a first year professional indoor team of the Independent Indoor Football Alliance. Wallace joins another recent addition to the Turfcats' lineup, DL Ryan Miles (6'2", 255). Miles also a former Driller, whose first game as a Turfcat was April 17 against West Texas, provided two fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown. His college career at Texas College provided Miles an opportunity for two NAIA All-American honors and CSFL Defensive Player of the Year honors, prior to starting his professional career with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL.
  4. This may not be new news to some, but I see where the Drillers have named the Tyler Indoor Sports Complex their new home. I'm glad they did, really would not have like driving to Palestine every weekend. Their next game is Saturday night at 7 p. m. Vs Mid City Mustangs. Yea, hoorah, wooo, yeah baby finally a new team to see the Drillers whoop up on.
  5. Things seem to be heating back up for the Drillers. They keep winning despite some of the turbulent events that have been happening. I hope that the rest of the season can go smoothly as possible for them. The players are really playing some ball, they just need to not let the other team draw them into penalties. ( The refs seem to be out for our players more than the other team anyway). 54-22 was the final score. By the way who was that little girl who sang the National Anthem, she was great, oh yeah did I mention that she sang it acapela. (Don't y'all crucify me if I spelled it wrong)
  6. PHSWILDCATFAN if you are who I think you are, then you are one rowdy fan. We could hear you very well from where we were sitting. Thanks for your enthusiasm.
  7. Maybe not J2WILSON70, BUT I will be there and so will alot of others. Iam just happy to see this team still around after the setbacks they have been through.
  8. Seems like the Drillers have found a new home. The Tyler Indoor Soccer facility has been designated to host another home game for them. They will play at 7 p. m. on Sat. May 1. See other post Drillers game change.
  9. Do any of you know the full story behind what really happened on Saturday? Have you tried to find out? I am not coming on here trying to defend this organization by no means, but I'm not trying to tear them apart either. Every post that I have read has been negative, do you all really think that this team would actually put all this together and expect these mishaps to happen? One post even said that they lied about the other team being stuck in traffic, Now why would they tell a lie of that nature? Did you all know that the other team was suppose to bring the bumper system? There was an accident on I-20 that did delay traffic, my friend and his family got held up on the way from Dallas to come see their nephew play. Check your sources before you start talking about issues that you really might not know about. To say that they are done is also not really accurate either. Why would they be done anyway? Are we actually coming on here and blaming the Drillers for another team not showing up and the league not holding up their end of the bargain? In the words of the NFL Primetime crew- "C'MON MAN"
  10. yes I do! Sorry about that in my disappointment I made an error! yes I do! Sorry about that in my disappointment I made an error! yes I do! Sorry about that in my disappointment I made an error!
  11. Just got news that the Drillers have rescheduled their already rescheduled game to next Saturday 3-10-2010. It is at 3 p.m. Man, I was looking forward to seeing them beat up on some more people. Oh well I ll just have to wait until then. In the mean time Happy Easter to all.
  12. Yes it is true that the Sunday game has been changed to Saturday due to it being Easter. I spoke to one of the coaches and they did verify.
  13. I have to check with my boss (wife) but I would like to travel and see these guys compete on the road. Houston area always have some salty athletes. Should be a good one.
  14. Obviously you measure a person's football prowess, by if he can start for the almighty Tyler Drillers. You could get a better team recruiting at the Sport Shack in Nac on a Friday night. Just to let you know, they are the East Texas Drillers, and if there is someone who can play some good ball at the Sport Shack in Nac on a Friday night they might need to see if they can get a tryout. How many games have you been to?
