  2. All these people are trying to show u what Obama is about, and what he will do to this country, and u still don't listen. The only thing I can think of is that u are set on having the first black man as president, and u are not going to look at any of the facts. So you are only voting for him because he is black. Thats what I thinK.
  3. As in his politics, McCain is something of a maverick in his personal faith, charting his own unique path between two denominations: the Episcopal Church, a mainline Protestant denomination and branch of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and the evangelical Southern Baptist Convention, the country's largest Protestant denomination. While McCain was raised an Episcopalian, he and his family have been attending a Southern Baptist megachurch in Arizona for about 15 years. This has prompted the question: Is McCain an Episcopalian or a Southern Baptist? For years, McCain had been described in most sources as an Episcopalian, including by his presidential campaign. But in a September 2007 interview with The Associated Press, McCain asserted, "By the way, I'm not Episcopalian. I'm Baptist
  4. EXCLUSIVE: Interview with David Freddoso, Author of ‘The Case Against Barack Obama’ by Michelle Oddis (more by this author) Michelle Oddis: Dave, you’re a reporter, not a columnist. You’ve worked very hard to dig into the Obama story. You’ve said that you started reporting on Barack Obama in 2004. After all this research, what do you think is the most important thing people should know about Sen. Obama? David Freddoso: The main lesson is that Barack Obama’s record, throughout his career, demonstrates conclusively that he has never been a reformer, that this image of “change and hope” that he projects is really a great lie. In fact there’s never been a single time in Senator Obama’s political career where he did something that was difficult and would cost him politically for the sake of needed reforms and change. MO: Your book focuses a lot on the “Chicago Machine.” Not everyone knows about Chicago’s political corruption. In short, how does it work? And how has Sen. Obama been a part of it? DF: Just to give a few examples from my book, chapter one discusses at length Sen. Obama’s support for and alliances with Chicago machine politicians, that’s chapters one and two. The “political machine” is all about using the apparatus of the government treasury, using the taxpayer’s money to keep yourself in power permanently. You put your political cronies on the payroll to help yourself get elected and re-elected and then when you’re in power you get to do things like steer pension funds and investment to benefit your pals. All of this stuff was going on. Liberals and conservatives had come together and had the Cook County, Illinois machine on the ropes but Sen. Obama did not help them. In fact, he ended up endorsing the machine candidate that year in the competitive general election and called him a good progressive Democrat. In this case he didn’t support the reformer, because to support the reformer in that election, he would have upset all the allies of the machine politician. That would have been against the interests of now-convicted developer Tony Rezko, who was tied closely to the Stroger family. He would have upset Mayor Daley, he would have to upset Emil Jones. So he played along like a good machine politician. Obama was denounced by a lot of liberals including some big people who were still big fans of his at the time. Obama’s very much about the old politics, and he’s very much not a reformer. It shouldn’t be a surprise except the only surprise is that he has managed to project this reformer image. MO: Why do you think the mainstream media hasn’t reported on these stories of Obama’s career in Chicago? Your book references many stories from the Chicago Sun-Times. Why does the national media ignore it? DF: Well, unfortunately, I think the national media – which resides largely in New York and Washington and perhaps out West in Los Angeles — doesn’t look at or read the Chicago papers nearly as much as they should. Part of the problem is that Chicago’s politics are so dirty that it’s almost hard to believe it’s true. Who would think that a guy who was convicted of stealing $4 million in quarters from Chicago area toll booths would then be given a city job with responsibilities where he could shake down city contractors for hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes and campaign contributions? MO: That’s true!?! DF: Yes, that’s absolutely true. The man earned the nickname “Quarters” because of his earlier conviction. He came out of prison and went right on to the city payroll shortly thereafter. He was part of one of Daley’s political organizations — the Coalition for better Government — so he got the job. This is the way Chicago politics works and Sen. Obama can’t do or say anything to change it because Sen. Obama’s allies, the people who got him where he is today and the people who are going to help him become president of the United States — they all started the problems. He can’t speak out against the problems because his friends are the problem. MO: Lets talk Tony Rezko. Not everyone knows the details of the Rezko-Obama connection. They know it has to do with a land deal and that’s about it… DF: The problem with it is everyone is focused on this land deal but they haven’t focused on the really big question — which is why would Sen. Barack Obama end up in a situation where he engaged in any sort of deal like this with a guy who’s entire career has consisted of legally or illegal sponging off of tax payers and corrupting public officials –officials like Barack Obama? When Tony Rezko wanted something done legally — say grants from the state and subsidies and cheap loans and that sort of thing — he knew he could always count on Barack Obama to support those things — to support legislation that would increase demand for subsidized housing in the Chicago area. Legislation that would make his costs lower, giving him tax breaks and tax breaks for stuff that he was already doing already. So, their 17 year friendship goes a long way back and it was working relationship where Obama did a lot of stuff in Springfield to help Tony Rezko. And that’s why the two could be close enough friends that they would dine together and spend weekends together at Rezko’s vacation home and why they would happen to buy properties right next door to each other. Very few people who have been looking at this angle and that’s the real issue with the Tony Rezko business — what did Obama do for him? Obama said “I did him no favors” but he did do favors for Tony Rezko. In fact, in 1998 — I believe it’s in Chapter 11 of the book — in 1998 Senator Obama wrote a couple of letters on Senate letter head specifically asking that the state give grants to Tony Rezko and another developer he is very close with, his former law firm boss. That’s a favor. MO: Why did you want to write this book? DF: I wanted to write this book because I was watching several major media figures and respected columnists and journalists just fawn over this guy. It just seems a little bit overboard to me. I haven’t been in Washington a terribly long time. I’ve been here since 2001 and from what I’ve seen you can’t buy into this idea of politicians as heroes. What exactly has Sen. Obama done that would support this argument as an “agent of positive change?” If you actually look at Obama’s record the incongruity is actually more obvious because he doesn’t have a record of being a reformer. Reformers don’t vote for the bridge to nowhere and they don’t vote for ethanol and they don’t vote for the farm bill… they don’t consistently support corrupt systemic arrangements in every public office they’ve ever held. As I was writing this, there were several things I came to know about Sen. Obama that I figured just about everybody else did. One of them was the fact that he first won election to the state in Illinois by getting all of his opponents, including his sitting state senator, thrown off the ballot. And I thought everyone knew this! And as I spoke to more and more very experienced Washington people I discovered practically nobody has heard this even though it’s been in so many newspapers I felt like a lot of those stories should be told again with as much detail as possible and that I could also find some new things about Sen. Obama that some people just didn’t know regarding his record in Springfield, in Washington and what he’s done in Chicago. So, that’s why I set out to do this and I think it makes for a good read. I mean, I’ll admit I wrote it myself… I’m not exactly unbiased. ——— There are many, many more detailed revelations about Barack Obama — the stealth liberal, his lack of knowledge of the world and his plans to bankrupt America — that David Freddoso writes in “The Case Against Barack Obama” Every American voter needs to know the facts about Obama, and this is the best book to read and study to learn those facts.
  5. Bloggers are raising questions about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama’s qualifications to be U.S. president, because of the secrecy over his birth certificate and the requirement presidents be “natural-born” U.S. citizens. Jim Geraghty, reporting on the Campaign Spot, a National Review blog, cited the “unlikely” but still circulating rumor that Obama was born not within the United States, but elsewhere, possibly Kenya. Geraghty defined the concerns most clearly, stating: “If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen … because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for ‘10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 16.’” He then points out Ann Dunham, Obama’s mother, was 18 when Obama was born “so she wouldn’t have met the requirement of five years after the age of 16.” Geraghty continues: ” (Interestingly, apparently there isn’t much paperwork on Obama’s parents’ marriage. ‘Obama: From Promise to Power,’ page. 27: ‘Obama later confessed that he never searched for the government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama’s maternal grandmother) insisted they were legally married.’ Also note that Obama’s father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their separation.)” The reports released to date show Obama was born in Honolulu to Barack Hussein Obama Sr., of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, of Wichita, Kan. According to FindLaw.com, which is cited by Geraghty, the requirements that were in force from Dec. 24, 1952 to Nov. 13, 1986, encompassing the time of Obama’s birth, state, “If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least 10 years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.” Obama’s father, a student sent to the United States from Africa, lived several places in the United States while attending class. He then returned to his homeland. Obama’s mother later married another man and moved to Indonesia. Geraghty said the Obama campaign could “debunk” the rumors about his birth simply by releasing a copy of his birth certificate, but the campaign has so far chosen not to do that. “The campaign cited the birth certificate in their ‘Fact Check’ on William Ayers, so presumably, someone in the campaign has access to it,” he said. Hawaii doesn’t make public information from birth certificates. “If the concern of the Obama campaign is that the certificate includes his Social Security number or some other data that could be useful to identity thieves, that information could easily be blocked out and the rest released. (Although I wonder if identity thieves would find Obama a tougher than usual target, since using the name on purchases would almost inevitably bring closer scrutiny.),” Geraghty said. The Obama campaign repeatedly has declined to respond to WND requests for comment. The presumptive Republican nominee for president, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., already has gone through the same type of challenge, and the U.S. Senate responded with a resolution in April declaring him to be a “‘natural born Citizen’ under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States.” That article declares that “no person except a natural born citizen … shall be eligible to the Office of president.”
  6. Barack Obama is against lifting the ban on drilling for oil offshore because it would not reduce gas prices “this year, next year, five years from now,” according to CNN . “John McCain’s proposal, George Bush’s proposal to drill offshore here in Florida, and other places around the country, would not provide families with any relief, this year, next year, five years from now… Believe me, if I thought there was any evidence at all that drilling could save people money who are struggling to fill up their gas tanks by this summer or the next few years, I would consider it, but it won’t.” This sure looks like Obama, the great problem solver according to Al Gore , is not interested in solving any problems that show up only beyond “this summer or the next few years” or that take more than a few years to fix (5 tops, apparently). Not very forward-looking, is he? In fact, his time window of interest seems to coincide rather perfectly with what would be his first term as President. Any problem that won’t show up during his term is not a problem he would try to solve. So much for the vision thing. Then where does that put global warming, by the way? I was not aware that global warming would have dire consequences this summer or the next few years or that it could be solved within 5 years. According to Senator Obama’s logic then, why try to solve it? This would be especially so since even global warmists believe the next decade will involve little or no warming . I also did not know that all the alternative energy sources Senator Obama advocates could be brought on line “this summer”. Wow, those windmill guys are good. I guess that means we can count on a President Obama to ignore the impending bankruptcies of Social Security and Medicare, for example. Or what about levee systems that take more than a few years to put in place to help alleviate flooding that isn’t even expected to occur for maybe 100 years? Too bad for the next Katrina victims. Of course, Obama’s logic is based on the premise that gasoline prices would not fall until new oil is actually put in barrels. But as Larry Kudlow points out , oil investors will start bidding down the price as soon as the knowledge of the availability of new oil becomes more certain. That could mean that, if the ban on offshore drilling is lifted this summer, gas prices could fall this summer or the next few years. In the long term we are all dead. For Senator Obama, the long term begins about four years from now.
  7. A close look at Barack Obama’s career reveals it has been even more mediocre than generally recognized. Before being elected to the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked as a community organizer and a lawyer in Chicago. In his memoir, Obama says being a community organizer taught him how to motivate the powerless and work the government to help them. His chief example is an effort to remove asbestos from Altgeld Gardens, an all-black public housing project on Chicago’s South Side. But those who were involved in the effort say Obama played a minor role in working the problem and never accomplished his goal. A pre-existing group at Altgeld Gardens and a local newspaper, the Chicago Reporter, were working on the problem before Obama came on the scene, yet Obama does not mention them in his book, “Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.” “Just because someone writes it, doesn’t make it true,” says Altgeld resident Hazel Johnson, who had been pushing for a cleanup of the cancer-producing substance years before Obama showed up. Rep. Bobby L. Rush, D-Ill., says it was Johnson’s work, along with asbestos testing by the Chicago Reporter, that got Chicago officials interested in the issue. Rush, who launched an inquiry into the situation when he was a member of the Chicago City Council, says he is “offended” that Obama did not mention Johnson in his account. “Was [Obama] involved in stuff? Absolutely,” says Robert Ginsburg, an activist who worked with Johnson and Obama on the problem. “But there was stuff happening before him, and after him.” After three years working as an organizer, Obama could say he helped obtain grants for a jobs program and got asbestos removed from some pipes in the project. But as the Los Angeles Times has noted, the “large-scale change that was needed at the 1,998-unit project was beyond his reach.” To this day, most of the asbestos remains in the apartments. Fruitless though his efforts were, Obama devoted more than 100 pages to his experiences at Altgeld Gardens and surrounding areas. Michelle Obama has said his work as a community organizer helped him decide “how he would impact the world,” assisting people to improve their lives. Yet, in a revealing passage in his book, Obama wrote, “When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly.” Instead, he said, “I’d pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds. Change in the congress, compliant and corrupt. Change in the mood of the country, manic and self-absorbed. Change won’t come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots.” Thus, Obama admitted that he accomplished little but that he was able to cover that up with fancy talk about change. After going to Harvard Law School, Obama returned to Chicago, where he briefly headed a voter registration drive and then became a lawyer. While Obama’s campaign has touted him as a civil rights lawyer, “Over the nine years that Obama’s law license was active in Illinois, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers who drew up briefs and contracts in a variety of cases,” according to David Mendell’s “Obama: From Promise To Power.” A review of the cases Obama worked on during his brief legal career “shows he played the strong, silent type in court, introducing himself and his client, then stepping aside to let other lawyers do the talking,” the Chicago Sun-Times has reported. “A search of all the cases in Cook County Circuit Court in which Obama made an appearance since he graduated from Harvard in 1991 shows: zero,” the article said. Instead, his practice was “confined mainly to federal court in Chicago, where he made formal appearances in only five district court cases and another five in cases before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — a total of 10 cases in his legal career,” the paper said. If Obama had virtually no impact as either a community organizer or as a lawyer, he was even more invisible in the state Senate and later in the U.S. Senate. In both bodies, Obama had a reputation for voting “present,” thus avoiding controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he has missed more than one in five votes. Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator was enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.” Contrary to Obama’s portrayal of himself as a unifier, on every bipartisan effort in the Senate to forge compromises on tough issues, Obama has been missing in action. In sum, it would be difficult to imagine a more mediocre record. Most candidates for dog catcher have contributed more to society. Yet with the help of adoring reporters, Obama has managed to parlay extraordinary speaking and political skills into a presidential campaign built on sand. The idea that America might entrust its security and future to someone who has never demonstrated an ability to get anything of significance done is scary. Look for John McCain to begin exploiting this vulnerability after Labor Day. Ronald Kessler is chief Washington correspondent of Newsmax.com
  8. JERUSALEM – Was Sen. Barack Obama a Muslim? Did he ever practice Islam? The presidential candidate officially rejects the claims, but the issue of Obama’s personal faith has re-emerged amid conflicting accounts of his enrollment as a Muslim during elementary school in Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation. Widely distributed reports have noted in January 1968, Obama was registered as a Muslim at Jakarta’s Roman Catholic Franciscus Assisi Primary School under the name Barry Soetoro. He was listed as an Indonesian citizen whose stepfather, listed on school documents as “L Soetoro Ma,” worked for the topography department of the Indonesian Army. Catholic schools in Indonesia routinely accept non-Catholic students, but exempt them from studying religion. Obama’s school documents, though, wrongly list him as being Indonesian. After attending the Assisi Primary School, Obama was enrolled – also as a Muslim, according to documents – in the Besuki Primary School, a public school in Jakarta. The Loatze blog run by an American expatriate in Southeast Asia who visited the Besuki school, noted, “All Indonesian students are required to study religion at school and a young ‘Barry Soetoro’ being a Muslim would have been required to study Islam daily in school. He would have been taught to read and write Arabic, to recite his prayers properly, to read and recite from the Quran and to study the laws of Islam.” Indeed, the Israel Insider online magazine points out in Obama’s autobiography, “Dreams From My Father,” he acknowledges studying the Quran and describes the public school as “a Muslim school.” “In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Quranic studies,” wrote Obama. The Indonesian media have been flooded with accounts of Obama’s childhood Islamic studies, some describing him as a religious Muslim . Speaking to the country’s Kaltim Post, Tine Hahiyary, who was principal of Obama’s school while he was enrolled there, said she recalls he studied the Quran in Arabic. “At that time, I was not Barry’s teacher but he is still in my memory” claimed Tine, who is 80 years old. The Kaltim Post says Obama’s teacher, named Hendri, died. “I remember that he studied ‘mengaji (recitation of the Quran),” Tine said, according to an English translation by Loatze. Mengaji, or the act of reading the Quran with its correct Arabic punctuation, is usually taught to more religious pupils and is not known as a secular study. Also, Loatze documented the Indonesian daily Banjarmasin Post caught up with Rony Amir, an Obama classmate and Muslim, who describe Obama as “previously quite religious in Islam.” “We previously often asked him to the prayer room close to the house. If he was wearing a sarong (waist fabric worn for religious or casual occasions) he looked funny,” Amir said. The Los Angeles Times, which sent a reporter to Jakarta, quoted Zulfin Adi, who identified himself as among Obama’s closest childhood friends, stating the presidential candidate prayed in a mosque, something Obama’s campaign claimed he never did. “We prayed but not really seriously, just following actions done by older people in the mosque. But as kids, we loved to meet our friends and went to the mosque together and played,” said Adi. Obama’s official campaign site has a page titled “Obama has never been a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.” The page states, “Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ.” But the campaign changed its tune when it issued a slightly different statement to the Times stating Obama “has never been a practicing Muslim.” An article last month by the Chicago Tribune seems to dispute Adi’s statements to the L.A. Times. The Tribune catches up with Obama’s declared childhood friend, who now describes himself as only knowing Obama for a few months in 1970 when his family moved to the neighborhood. Adi said he was unsure about his recollections of Obama But the Tribune found Obama did attend mosque. “Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia,” states the Tribune article. It quotes the presidential candidate’s former neighbors and 3rd grade teacher recalling Obama “occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers.” Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, notes the Tribune article – cited by liberal blogs as refuting claims Obama is Muslim – actually implies Obama was an irregularly practicing Muslim and twice confirms Obama attended mosque services. In a free-ranging interview with the New York Times, Obama described the Muslim call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” The Times’ Nicholos Kristof wrote Obama recited, “with a first-class [Arabic] accent,” the opening lines of the Muslim call to prayer. Israel Insider’s Reuven Koret notes the first few lines state: “Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! I witness that there is no god but Allah I witness that there is no god but Allah I witness that Muhammad is his prophet… “ Some attention also has been paid to Obama’s paternal side of the family. His father, described in some reports as an atheist, polygamist and alcoholic, was buried in Kenya as a Muslim. Obama Sr., also named Barack Obama, had three sons with another woman who reportedly all are Muslim. Obama’s brother Roy is described as a practicing Muslim. Writing in a chapter of his book describing his 1992 wedding, the presidential candidate stated: “The person who made me proudest of all was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam, and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol.”
  9. Edgewood edges emotional Eustace Hours after his mother’s funeral, Baldwin rushes for 212 yards, 5 TDs in 44-42 loss By Jayson Larson Editor EUSTACE — A game that begged for a storybook ending nearly got one. A blocked field goal with no time left on the clock Friday night set into motion a pair of significant events at Bulldog Stadium. First, it sealed the Edgewood Bulldogs’ 44-42 victory and snuffed a come-from-behind victory by Eustace. But it also made a dizzying day strangely come full circle. Mere hours before Friday night’s game, the Eustace Bulldogs gathered as a team. But they left their shoulder pads and helmets at the field house and equipped themselves only with their hearts on their sleeves as they mourned the death of teammate Shawn Baldwin’s mother. Mae Louise Lowder Baldwin died Tuesday after a lengthy illness. She was only 40 years old. Her services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, just hours before Eustace’s scheduled kickoff against Edgewood. Eustace head coach Doug Wendel said players’ emotions ran the gamut at the funeral. Some sat quietly, humbled by the weight of death. Others clung to no such restraint and “let it all out,” as Wendel put it. Eight hours later, the scenery had changed but the feelings were much the same. As Eustace players found themselves once again gathered together, some were stunned at how the final moments on the field had transpired, and some once again allowed tears to fall, even if they were a bit more guarded about showing it. And what of a grieving Baldwin? He showed up to the field at 7 p.m., as pregame warmups were coming to a close. Then he put together the game of a lifetime, rushing for 212 yards and five touchdowns. “I just wanted to do all this for my mom,” he said in a hushed tone after the game, moments after accepting hugs and words of encouragement from a trio of Edgewood coaches. “Three games in a row, we left it all out on the field,” Wendel said moments later. “I don’t care what the scoreboard said, especially with what they’ve been through. We’ve got a bunch of winners here.” Throughout the game, Eustace (1-2) and Edgewood (2-1) — led by standout quarterback Weston Jameson — traded blows. Fittingly, Baldwin got Eustace on the board first with a one-yard plunge five minutes into the game. Jameson, who had a hand in six touchdowns, answered with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Rose. Jameson followed a 482-yard, seven-touchdown performance last week by going 19 of 24 for 318 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for two touchdowns. And so the see-saw game went. Baldwin scores from 49 yards out, Jameson hits Clay Haltom on a 53-yard touchdown pass. Then Jameson runs it into the end zone, and Baldwin responds with two more touchdowns of his own — the second of which gave Eustace a 28-22 lead heading into halftime. Overshadowed by this one-on-one heavyweight fight was Trevan Johnson, who finished with 144 rushing yards, and the performance of the Eustace offensive line: Ben Caswell, Ryan Compton, Josh Lopez, Nick Dunlap and Owen Babcock. Together, the crew paved the way for a 430-yard rushing attack. The final, determining blows were struck within the final three minutes. With the game tied at 36, Baldwin tallied his fifth touchdown of the night, from one-yard out, to give Eustace a 42-36 lead. The two-point conversion try failed. A little less than two minutes later, Jameson marched Edgewood 58 yards in just five plays, capped by his 11-yard touchdown pass to Rose. Consequently, Rose and a teammate ran a route to the same spot on the field, and he still found a way to make a leaping catch at the pylon with a Eustace defender bearing down on him. That tied the game. Jameson’s successful two-point pass to Rogers put Edgewood ahead for good and set up the dramatic final seconds. A Hollywood screenwriter couldn’t have penned a better script. Except this wasn’t Hollywood or make-believe. For Eustace, it was heavy and painful and real. And as it so happens, the bunch from Eustace gave the performance of a lifetime.

My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Oba ma, is Odinga’s follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for v erification of that....and for more. Obama’s cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians’ homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth. 5.) Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as ‘one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.’ This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says ‘Obama’s narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.’ 9.) 12. Panthers get first victory By SALLY SEXTON The Palestine Herald PALESTINE — Tevin Watson’s first start on varsity did not go well last week. But once he got over the nerves and anticipation, the sophomore stepped up to lead the Westwood Panthers to their first win of the season, a 35-33 victory over Madisonville at Panther Stadium without leading rusher D.J. Morrow, who was sidelined with a groin injury. Because of the Hurricane Ike situation, the game was played Thursday night, a day earlier than originally scheduled. “It was a good win at home and we really needed it,” Westwood head coach Kevin Anderson said. “It feels good to beat a team like Madisonville because they are a good team.” It looked like Westwood had things in the bag, leading 35-21 late in the fourth quarter when Watson scored on a 17-yard touchdown run after a 63-yarder to get the ball into Madisonville territory. But with less than five minutes to play, the Mustangs put together a 12-play drive before Jake Baker connected with Jamie Steindl for a 5-yard score, but the extra-point kick was blocked by Domanick Turner and the Panthers still had some breathing room, leading 35-27. Madisonville opted for an onside kick and came up with the ball on Westwood’s 47-yard line. Three plays later, all that breathing room was gone as Chris Whaley had a 42-yard run to score. Madisonville went for the two-point try, but the pass was intercepted by Turner, who stepped in front of Whaley at the back of the end zone. Still, Westwood wasn’t out of the woods yet, because the Mustangs went for another onside kick and again came out with the ball with less than two minutes to play. But the opening play of the drive failed as Whaley was tackled in the backfield for a loss of 7 yards and Sam Dunnam came up with two big blocks to knock down the Madisonville quarterbacks attempted passes. The Panthers got the ball back on downs and were able to run out the clock for the win. “After losing the first two games of the season, I felt like I needed to step up and be a leader,” Watson said. Watson finished 10-of-18 passing for 178 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, he carried the ball 14 times for 141 yards and two scores, including the final touchdown for the Panthers. “I thought the people we had expected to be big finally stepped up tonight,” Westwood offensive coordinator Steven Skinner said. “I was a little concerned with D.J. out because of his leadership on the field, but we handled it well and came out with the win.” The Panthers got to work from the very beginning, taking advantage of a fumble on a bad snap by Madisonville after forcing the Mustangs to punt on fourth down. Westwood got the ball on Madisonville’s 10-yard line, and Watson needed just one play to squeeze through the defense and score on a 10-yard run. Tyler Dillon followed with the extra point to give Westwood a 7-0 lead. Whaley countered with a 59-yard score to tie the game at 7-7. He scored three of the five Mustang touchdowns in the game and finished with 30 carries for 233 yards. But it was the Panthers who would score last in the first quarter after Watson completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Shead. The Mustangs opened up the second quarter to score on their opening drive on a Whaley 23-yard run to again tie the game, 14-14. Westwood matched that with a 31-yard pass from Watson to receiver George White for the final score of the first half to give the Panthers a 21-14 advantage. White had three receptions for 111 yards, including a 72-yard reception to begin the start of the third quarter. That catch put Westwood on Madisonville’s 7-yard line, setting up a first-and-goal situation, and Watson handed the ball off to Scott Starr, who punched in the score for a 28-14 lead. Despite giving up 379 yards to the Mustangs, the Westwood defense stepped up several times in crucial situations, including causing four fumbles and recovering one. “At various times, the defense showed up and had some big plays,” Anderson said. “I was proud of the effort and the fact that these guys never quit.” ———— Sally Sexton can be reached via e-mail at [email protected]
  13. This is from palestine paper. Morrow out as Westwood gets first win The Palestine Herald By SCOTT TYLER H-P Sports Editor The Westwood Panthers entered Thursday night without a win this season and their returning 1,000-yard runner on the sideline in his street clothes. Westwood senior D.J. Morrow sat out Thursday night’s game against Madisonville, but the Panther offense did not panic as sophomore quarterback Tevin Watson helped lead Westwood to a 35-33 win. “Tonight I saw a team that faced adversity and never quit,” Morrow said. “They came out and knew what they needed to do.” After Westwood’s loss last week against Bullard, Westwood head coach Kevin Anderson made a decision to sit Morrow, who had been struggling with an injury since two-a-day practices. “We just did not feel like he was healthy and he needs to get rest,” Anderson said. “It was a big deal to come out tonight and play well without him.” During the week of practice, Morrow said there was no negativity because he was not going to play. “They knew the whole week I wasn’t going to play but their heads were always up, getting ready for this game,” Morrow said. The Westwood offense accounted for 387 yards — 127 more yards than the Panthers had accumulated the last two weeks combined. Watson, who moved to quarterback last week, put on a show in the Westwood home opener. The sophomore weaved through the Madisonville defense for 141 rushing yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns. He also had a strong night with his arm, throwing for 178 yards and two touchdowns and did not have an interception. “He made a name for himself tonight,” Morrow said of Watson. “Last week was a little tough for him but he stepped up to the plate tonight and showed what he is capable of.” Filling in for Morrow in the backfield was a combination of players including Scott Starr, who had 10 carries for 55 yards and a 7-yard touchdown run. “Scott Starr made some big plays for us tonight,” Anderson said. “We did a good job taking care of the football.” With Westwood having success Thursday night and Morrow not being on the field, Anderson hopes that will just boost the confidence of his players. “It is going to help big time,” Anderson said. “Everyone else stepped up and played well.” While Westwood was racking up the yards on offense, Morrow was on the sideline helping his teammates. “D.J. was the biggest cheerleader and an assistant coach on the sideline,” Anderson said. Anderson hopes to have Morrow back next week in a game against Arp but said it is still a waiting game as he wants to make sure Morrow is healthy before returning. “We are just going to have to wait and see how he responds,” the Westwood head coach said. “When he gets back, it is going to be good, but we need to still keep working.” ————
