I would have left Marshall High School when I worked there for Longview.  It was not a great place to work when I was at Marshall.  I hold no sentiment for Marshall ISD.  It sucked to work there.

I care about the success at Marshall HS, but I would have no problem or remorse working for a school that kicked their ### on the regular if it was a better work environment.

The town, for the most part, sucks outside of ETBU.  The people there are great, but I went to visit Marshall a few months ago to see my mother and sister, and I thought I would see some improvements.  Basically, the only improvements to the town have happened at Marshall High School and East Texas Baptist University.  Every other business looked like a swift 40 MPH wind could take down their building.  I honestly wish my mom would just move.

***All the statements above are my personal opinions and feelings about the town itself.  I don't doubt that people have tried to make an improvement to the town, but it doesn't show on the outside.  I understand that this statement may disqualify me from ever working at Marshall ISD in the future, but if it does, that would just be a testament of the current administration trying to defend the actions of a really bad previous administration dating back almost 15 years ago.***

Pretty much my opinion of the town/school as well.

its an even tougher job when you keep "losing" kids to a neighbor district.

If you were a kid who cared about football and you could choose between Hooks and Redwater why would you pick Redwater?

I'm guess whomever they interviewed either did NOT impress them or turned them down, BECAUSE the job was just re-posted on THSCA

I think that was a messed up posting. It is already gone and a girl's basketball one in its place.

Their last season that was above .500 was in 2011 with Coach Stine as the AD/HC. He had four years of .500 or better records with his last year being one of the  best years in Redwater History at 8-4. He was not a spread guy and they played extremely hard nosed football. He ran a tough, no nonsense program with a tough weight and off season program. His teams were very disciplined...something that has been sorely lacking for the last several years. Whoever gets this gem will have an uphill battle to change the culture, lack of discipline and apathy...and then there are the parents...good luck to whoever gets it.

    That is a dying thing.

At this point QC doesn't deserve Coach Droddy. Kids are the real losers in this.

Hope applicants realize if the board did it to him, theyll do it to you!

I would assume it'd be hard to get very good applicants for that very reason!

We say things like that, but they will get plenty of people to apply. People need that 1st AD job to get in the club.

I certainly enjoyed my time there! Get a hankering for La finca or swanners on occasion!

You can't get swanners anymore and La Finca has not been the same since the new building IMO.

Only job open is head volleyball

If you are female and want to be a head volleyball coach then this is a good time to be in the business. Lots of places looking every year.

This is Garrison's tentative schedule .... the North Webster (LA) game contract has not been finalized .....

    Schedule 2024.jpg

That north webster game is the reason why they should have made two seven team districts instead of making an 8 team one and a 6 team one.

I think Sweat's weight has scared off many teams. T'vondre in the second round if available should be a no brainer. How worried is Dallas about their run defense. Put Sweat beside Mazi Smith and the Cowboys have the base of their run defense for years. I don't think he will last that long.

I would be worried if Sweat could play at a high level for more than 2-3 plays at a time because of his weight.

In that case, I change my stance. Player follows x-HS coach to a perennial powerhouse baseball program….. someone may want to check into it.

You are joking right? Pewitt baseball made the playoffs for the first time ever like two years ago.

Still no jobs open looks like a chance for some wins non district maybe the off-season going well in second season

People don’t resign from jobs until they have other jobs lined up.

If these jobs open it will show up in April, May, June, and July.

DField is an interesting one. It has been several years since the two have played, prior to the Gibson era. think it comes down to just trying to find someone to play. I know PG has tried Sulphur Springs and Mt Pleasant in the past, but has had no luck.

I’m surprised daingerfield wanted that game.

Might as well start playing Gilmer again if you are going to play PG.
