Huntsville has clinched the district and Porter the 2 seed. The bottom of the district is a mess Nac and LP play Tuesday in Lufkin. A Nac win and they clinch the 3 seed and drop LP into a tie with KP for 4th as long as KP beats Dayton and cause a play in game for the 4th seed. A Lufkin win and they clinch the 3 and Nac would drop into a tie with KP if KP beats Dayton Tuesday. We are looking at a play in game for the 4th seed unless Dayton beats Kingwood Park for their first district win.

I’ve seen.  It’s crazy. And worthy of an appeal.

Not sure where you could move them other than district 9 and that would have them going to Angleton, Port Arthur and Galveston so either way its close to 3 hours depending on traffic.

Lufkin and Nac are on a collision course to settle the district title on Tuesday, Feb 6th in Nac. The only close district game either has had so far was against each other when Lufkin defeated Nac 50-45 in Lufkin on 1/29. KP looks set to be the 3 seed with Porter currently in the 4.

    Huntsville 25-7 (8-0)

    KP 9-20 (3-5)

    Lufkin 10-17 (3-5)

    Dayton 3-19 (0-8)

Huntsville is running away with the district and beating people up on the way. Porter sits alone in 2nd with Nac and Huntsville left, needing 1 win in their last 2 games to clinch the 2. Nac has Porter and Lufkin left needing 1 win to clinch the 3 but can tie for the 2 with 2 wins and Porter losing out. Lufkin has KP and Nac left and needs to win out to clinch a playoff spot. KP has Lufkin and Dayton left and needs to win out to clinch.

Let's take a peek at this week's games....we have some good one!

Nacogdoches Vs. Texas High:  The Tigers need a win to keep pace with WH for the district lead....possibly setting up that district title battle next week.  Nacogdoches is desperate for a win... that would solidify their playoff hopes.  A loss puts them in a must win situation (and possibly some help) to get in next week Vs. Marshall.  With a loss to THS.... the Dragons wold drop to (1-4).  If PT beats Hallsville, that would put the Pirates at (2-2).  Even if Nac was to beat Marshall next week...they could be the odd man out if PT, Marshall, and Nac all finish (2-4).  Their loss 23-13 to PT coupled with Marshall's 24 point win over PT could leave Nac out of the post season even with a win next week.  Texas High inches closer to their fourth district title in a row with the win.

    Clear as mud?

We lost by 3 to PT 27-24, in a 3 way tie scenario with Marshall and PT the score between Nac/Marshall would decide.  We have 3 district losses by 11 points total. Marshall is +18 by beating PT 31-13, Nac is -3 and PT -15 right now.

Watch the film on the phantom holding call. It was on the MP side of the field and holding is not the proper description for what happened.

These are just first half stats because I was ready to hit the road and get back, but total yards in the first half: MP 323 Nac 43.

I agree the officiating was poor both ways, but the call that absolutely gave Nac its first TD was the worst. Watch the timing of when the flag came out. I don’t have time to even attempt to explain what happened.

Makes zero difference on the timing of the flag, it was a hit to the head of a receiver in the air, and MT Pleasant got away with about 4-5 of those through out the game.

There was no one on the MP side of the field except the receiver that caught the ball.

I am assume the refs are from the SFA Chapter and it has to be their worse rated crew. It was absolutely terrible from start to finish for both teams all the way around. I think both teams started 1st and 20 most of the night.

  13. 9 hours ago, Cletus said:

MP won 27-22. Similar to Marshall game, MP completely dominated the contest, but final score says otherwise. By far the worst officiated game I have witnessed in my many years on this earth.

I agree about the officials being absolutely horrible for both sides all the way through the game!! That crew is horrible every game they call. But dominated come on!! That's seeing the game through MP colored glasses, Nac settled in and forced those mistakes after going down 14-0 and if not for a phantom holding call calling a TD back that's 14-7 in the first quarter. Nac made mistakes as well in this game so both teams had theirs. Probably at least 4 times we missed receivers running free in the secondary that would have been big gains/TDs. Nac has 3 district losses by 5 or less points.

  14. The loser of this game is in trouble the winner puts themselves in a great position for 3 or 4 seed.

Nac has MP, TH and Marshall left.

MP has PT, WH and Hallsville left.

The chances of 3-4 way ties and tie breakers coming into play is real for this district right now.

The " really good and one of the best defense in district" of PT gave up 57 points and would of been over 60 if WH didn't take their foot off the gas.  WH defensively especially  secondary and special teams is going to have to get it together down the stretch, if not they will be 4th team for playoffs.

WH will be hard pressed to fall to 4th, they have H2H already against 2 of the teams they could tie with a huge point differential over PT.

I think at this point WH is no worse than the 2 seed.

Nac, Marshall, PT and MP are fighting for that 3 and 4 spots and have to travel to Melissa and Lovejoy for round 1.

Is it an upset if mostly everyone wants PT to win?? 😅

The roller coaster that is known as their Offense just tells me that they will put up a big goose egg this week... and against WH isn't the week to do that. Hope I'm wrong, cause I would enjoy getting to see those kids get the offense figured out with the Defense they have.

Playoff implications wise, Nac needs this to be Whitehouse wining this game. Based on what I have seen so far IMO PT has the better chance of losing multiple games down the stretch than WH does.
