  1. I think this is coming for Nac in the next realignment. The move this year with the non-football sports is south. I think the UIL is preparing Nac for the move south for all sports come the 2024 realignment. With Jacksonville's drop to 4A, that was Nacs lifeline to the Northern districts.
  2. #1 Whitehouse is not a lock to get into the playoffs right now, if Nac can win against MP tonight means Whitehouse is going to have to beat either Hallsville, Marshall or Texas High to get in a Tie with Nac and Nac goes. #2 the only team in our district than can chalk up a win against the Bi-District team is Texas High. Lovejoy, Melissa and Crandall are all very good this year and score a lot of points. Lovejoy or Melissa will only have 1 loss to the other one and Crandall's only losses are going to be to Lovejoy and Melissa. This might be Crandall's best team ever and because they are in with Lovejoy and Melissa they are going to finish 3rd.
  3. Congrats to both Thigh and Nac on great seasons in the UIL inaugural season for water polo, both men and women from both schools were eliminated from the playoffs last night. Both played schools that were much bigger than them and have polo club teams in the offseason.
  4. This game should be fireworks!!! This game is going to come down to turnovers and who has the ball last. Could be 70-63 at the end of this one. Whitehouse cant stop the run, it will come down to how Hallsville handles the WH hurry up.
  5. 5-6a Water Polo District Championships were played in Garland on Saturday. Top 4 teams Qualified for Bi-District being played in Conroe on Tuesday. 1st year of UIL water Polo was very successful for our 2 East Texas schools. Nac and Tx High are by far the smallest schools playing Polo and have the most mileage to drive vs any other school participating. The bigger schools around the bigger cities have a huge advantage with club teams for the swimmers to play on in the offseason. Mens 1.Rockwall Heath 4-0 2.Rockall 3-1 3.Texas High 2-2 4.Nacogdoches 1-3 5.Forney 0-2 6.North Forney 0-2 Nac and Texas High played triple a overtime thriller that went back and forth seeing Texas High score the sudden death goal to win 19-18. #1Heath vs #4 Oakridge #2Rockwall vs #3 College Park #3Texas High vs #2 Conroe #4 Nac vs #1 Woodlands Girls 1.Heath 4-0 2.Rockwall 3-1 3.Nac 2-2 4.Texas High 1-3 5.Forney 0-2 6.North Forney 0-2 #1 Rockwall vs #4 Grand Oaks #2 Rockwall Heath vs #3 Conroe #3 Nac vs #2 College Park #4 Texas High vs #1 Woodlands
  6. That rude!!!:) It's true but you didn't have to say it!!! lol
  7. Nac and Mt Pleasant are meeting for just the 17th time in their history. Nac owns a 10-6 record against the Tigers. Nac has won 6 of the last 8, teams have split the last 4 meetings. The last 3 meetings were close going into the 4th QTR. This is a must win for both teams and the loser is pretty much eliminated from the playoffs. For Nac it comes down to which offense we run, if we run the shotgun Veer, Nac will have a chance to win this game. If we run the offense we did the first 4 games and against PT we will lose badly!!!
  8. Nac ran a great offensive game plan against Whitehouse and Hallsville than they have in any of the other games. The Hallsville game changed with 1 minute left in the half when Nac got called for a block in the back on the kickoff that backed them up inside the 10 and had to give Hallsville the ball back on our side of the 50. They scored to go up 28-17 before the half and then got the ball to start the second and scored to turn a 4 point game into a 18 point game very quick. This shook Nac out of running the ball. Moving from shotgun wishbone to 5 wide receiver sets and throwing INTS in the second half. Nac isn't out yet but this week against Mt P is a must win for any hope to remain. They also hold the tiebreaker against WH in the event of a tie for the 4th spot. Nac has to stay with the running game and mix in the pass, when they are put into the position to drop back 25 times they will throw ints and lose. Not that the 4th spot is much of reward, with Lucas Lovejoy or Melissa waiting for whoever is in 4th. The season has definitely been a disappointment.
  9. 28-7 PT at the half. so Nac has gone back to the offense and the QB that led them to an 0-4 non-district record. tunovers on our side of the 50 and penalties keeping pine tree drives alive after they were stopped. Pine Tree is running well and has thrown to 1 WR so far. Nacs defense has spent a lot time on the field thanks to the turnover and kickoff that we decided to let bounce around the field. horrible response for the dragons after a great win last week. Nac gets the ball to start the second half so we will se quickly if this gets out of hand it Nac can get back in it.
  10. Looks like Nac will get its pass catching tight end(hurt is in scrimmage) and starting defensive tackle(hurt against Lufkin) back for this game. A 2-0 start for Nac in district would be huge in fighting for the 3-4 spot.
  11. 16-5A Volleyball 1.Lufkin (28-13)( 2-0) 2.Kingwood park (12-23)(2-0) 3.Porter(9-19)( 1-1) 4.Dayton (13-21)(1-1) 5.Huntsville (20-17)(0-2) 6.Nacogdoches(5-12)(0-2) Tuesday Results Lufkin defeated Porter 3-0 Dayton defeated Nac 3-0 Kingwood Park defeated Huntsville 3-0 Fridays Games Kingwood Park @ Porter Nac @ Huntsville Lufkin @ Dayton
  12. Historically, PT has been about what Nac has been football wise.
  13. 16-5A Volleyball District Lufkin defeated Huntsville 3-0 Kingwood Park defeated Nac 3-0 Porter defeated Dayton 3-1 Standings 1.Lufkin (27-13)(1-0) 2.Kingwood Park (11-23)(1-0) 3.Porter (9-28)(1-0) 4.Huntsville(0-1)(20-16) Dayton(12-21)(0-1) Nac (-)(0-1) Looks like the top 4 currently will be the favorites to make the playoffs. Tuesdays Games Dayton @ Nac Huntsville @ Kingwood park Porter @ Lufkin
  14. Nac (1-0) and Pine Tree (0-1) hook up on Friday in Longview. Pine Tree coming off a loss to Marshall 36-7 Nac coming off a homecoming win over previously unbeaten Whitehouse 34-23-Nac Scored 14 Points and took a safety in the last 2 minutes of the game. Nac found a consistent bruising running game, played great defense and didn't turn the ball over, while forcing 5 turnovers. Nac has a 25-8 record all time against the Pirates, but Pine Tree has won 3 straight.
  15. Maybe both!!! Nac, did things yesterday they haven't done all year. We started our senior QB and ran the Shotgun wishbone Veer. We didn't turn the ball over, other than an INT to end the half. Nac played great defense and kept Whitehouse off the field. Whitehouse on the other hand was 4-0 playing a less than stellar non-district schedule. Now, they did what they were supposed too and won big. WH seemed to have a very simple offense but they execute everything out of the hurry up offense so you have to keep their offense off the field. Their QB struggled to connect on anything other than the swing pass out in the flat. Everything down the field was broken up or intercepted.

  17. Nacogdoches defeats Whitehouse 34-23 Nac defense forced 4 turnovers and broke out the run game to power past Whitehouse
  18. When were they truly up?:) Best year since 1992 was still a first round playoff loss!!
  19. I don't know if he is calling the defense but he is for sure calling the offense. Lots of deep throws into coverage, missing open receivers in the middle of the field and turnovers!!
  20. Dave Campbells has Lumberton at #8 in the state as of last Thursday.
  21. Whitehouse travels to Nac to celebrate Nac's homecoming on Friday. This will be the 21st meeting between Nac and WH, Whitehouse leads the series 13-7. The visiting team has won the last 4 matchups and Whitehouse has won 4 of the last 5. Nac won Last Year 28-19. Whitehouse comes in 4-0 after defeating North Forney (3-1) 47-30 Jacksonville (1-3) 54-21 Corsicana (1-3) 48-17 Henderson (0-4) 53-28 Combine Record of Opponents 5-11 Whitehouse is scoring points and even tough their schedule so far is isn't impressive they have done what they are supposed to do against those teams. Nac comes in at 0-4 with Losses to Palestine (2-1) 38-31 Lufkin (3-1) 37-0 Lumberton (3-1) 52-6 Chapel Hill (2-2) 42-17 Combine Record of Opponents 10-5 Nac offense moves the ball but cant convert to points in the red zone and turnovers being returned for TDs is killing the Dragons!! Nac's offense has 7 turnovers that have returned for Tds on the season so far. This does not include punts being snapped over the head of the punter and blocked XP/FGs. Nac's defense is forcing turnovers but the offense can't convert them to points. We will see where each team is actually at starting on Friday as the district race kicks off.
