  1. Nothings IMPOSSIBLE no matter how improbable it may seem. I hope the boys pull it together regardless of what the naysayers claim and have a great 2nd half of the season, play hard, and leave it all on the field...no matter the score then-they can be proud of themselves no matter the final record. As the last 2-3 posts allude-it's hard to belive in yourself when everyone around you is negative, or bringing you down-and we have a LOT of that here. C'MON SH-let's get behind the boys..we love them now let's believe IN them!!!
  2. i know spring hill is in a tough district and there are questions about who makes all those strange calls at key points during the games. i want the community to look past this an strart to have pride and back the boys win or lose. i see fans complaining about certain players or pointing fingers at boys and moral is down. we can still pull this season out, we have talent in the junior and senior class and we have a great offensive coordinator. we need the fans and student body behind the team.
  3. you cannot respond to obnoxious AND ignorant comments like this, because you will not change her mind. as a mom of a kid that is on the team i appreciate your comment. i also heard her and was embarrassed for the senior parents, but also at the same time, angered. im sure she and others honestly feel that when we win or do well, it is because of a small handful of talent, but when we dont do well, it is the fault of others or the coaches. Im so glad that the junior kids do not feel this way. they, like my son feel they are a team, win or lose.
  4. Best of Fortune to Carthage Bulldogs-bring home the title to East Texas(another one for Carthage)..best wishes from Spring Hill!!!!
  5. Very true; kid from Bridge City(vs Spring Hill) pitched 10 complete innings and was still hitting 86mph in the 8th/9th innings after hitting 91 in the 4th the thing is once the games over, arm muscles begin to tighten, need stretching/resting as the muscles regenerate themselves...kids can come back, the muscle fatigque is there and kids start using wrong mechanics because the arm just can't do what it did the day before and the muscle strain can cause damage on ligaments in the elbow, shoulder, etc....Ware/Thomas from WO are big strong kids, and we at SH know full well. We've played them since Dixie Youth and they come ready to play as do all the WO kids; best of fortune to both clubs.
  6. Carthage won last night fair and square...played the game like your sposed to; obviously this person didn't attend the game and believes SH doesn't have talent....guess we'll find out tomorrow. The "poster" is just another example of the problems with the internet and message posting, etc...people say things they normally wouldn't say in public.
  7. SHISD is blessed with a very good coaching staff that has honed a great group of kids to where they are today. The community has seen the younger youth leagues make huge strides the past several years and the ability level of these groups has soared because of the committment of the leagues; the current group of varisty players were part of 3 state titles at the youth age(11-12, back to back 13-14's). Coach Mauldin, Lee ,and all the coaches have done a great job getting this group to reach their potential. We are very proud of all of the kids, coaches and our community.
  8. I'm excited about SH vs Carthage, two great east Texas ball clubs showing the rest of the regions what ET has to offer. Between these two clubs 4 Top 10 teams were knocked off during their run. Both are sound defensively, obtain strong pitching, and play the game. Both were schedule to play Hallsville tournament earlier this year, but was washed out..not sure they would have met which makes this "clash" even better. Carthage played 4A area teams and I believe larger Louisiana schools, while SH's two games vs Hallsville were washed out due to weather , Panthers picked up a win vs Kilgore. They also knocked off then ranked #3 Kennedale and #11 Decatur at the NTTOC tournament back in March. Look at the teams played, and both squads have battled very strong oppononents both in their classification and out.......you couldn't ask for a better Region Championship match up!!!! Way to go boys!!
  9. I'm not sure where those rankings came from; here is a look at the Class 3A Poll near end of May before start of bi-district games as of 3abaseball.com; 1. Cuero 24-1 2. Spring Hill 23-1 3. Sinton 21-7 4.
  10. Hallsville Bobcat field had plenty of seating, both stands and area to set up your chair along with bathrooms and concession; parking is a small walk, and should fill up quickly...
  11. Lots of softball/baseball in Lufkin area starting Thurs SH vs Huntingon-Nacogdoches(girls) SH vs Bridge City-Lufkin Hudson WO vs Waverly-Lufkin Sat SH vs Bridge City-Angelina Juco/Lufkin WO vs Waverly-Pollok Central Tyler vs Lufkin, Lufkin
  12. Spring Hill 4 Waco Robinson 3-......SH took 4-0 lead into top of 7th, got two quick outs before Methvin just ran outta gas; valiant effort by the kid on 3 days rest on a HOT HUMID afternoon...whew. Brown came on to get the final out and Panthers moving on. Looks like we'll be travling southward to meet winner of Bridge City/Orangefileld..GREAT JOB PANTHERS..
  13. This was updated on another thread...I'll update this; Down 3-0 after 3 the Panthers struck for 1 run in the fourth as Lacy singled home Johnson who got aboard via HBP; Small started the 6th with a double and Peloquin doubled Leath(pinch running)home, Moran beat out an infield single, and Johnson sent a 2-2 pitch over the RF wall. Small lead off the 7th with a shot over the RF wall to finish the Panthers scoring; 6-3 Final....WAY TO GO PANTHERS
