lol thats a good point. Could wind up being a case of teams literally "beating themselves"..all starts with the "pen" then the "pads"..thats why they're STUDENT ATHLETES and not "ATHLETE-STUDENTS".

Who's your district winner? Giving all a chance to voice their opinion on a "High-octaine" district filled with athletes who all believe their teams has a legitimate shot at a playoff spot this year..

Agreed. The bears will face good qb's pretty much every friday night of district play..even though we do look good on the offensive side of the ball, our defense has looked somewhat exposed at times and although the past qb's were decent players, the likes of Manley, Even Brown from Spring Hill, can easily pick apart a defense. Should be a good district to keep an eye on from top to bottom, just sad knowing that somebody's going to be left out at the end of the season. Good luck to all

Any idea on who's leading east texas in rushing? Corey Davis of Gladewater seems to be the talk of the town around here but i know there's somebody else out there performing well this season.

yeah that was a long and weird tournament...seemed like karma came back around at the wrong time for the bears...i heard they hit a buzzer-beater to beat rusk and then lost on a last-second put back by sabine that would've put them in the championship game

that's crazy but good win by the roughnecks...they play very disciplined basketball and in the end...that is one advantage they have over the athletic teams in the tourney...best of luck to all and hoping my bears bring home the third place trophy...hopefully they'll learn to play hard for 32 min. and not 31:59 :thumbsup:

seeing that gilmer held chapel hill to 7 pts. and gladewater to 8 pts. im going with the bears by 1 pt. 8-7 :P...nah gonna be a good game IF we can contain tucker

you got a point there,i would like to see us beat gilmer but i do think we have a lot better chance at beating chapel hill than everyone's giving us,it'll be a crazy finish with 3 teams fighting for one spot...if only we would've beat tatum =(...can't overlook those small games. Another question...which district will this one meet up with in the first round???

one thing the bears cannot do is try to make this game a shootout if they want a chance at pulling a major upset...as stated in the other forum...the bears will have to pass the ball a little bit more and not rely so much on the running game although that is obviously their strong point...they must also be very efficient in their tackling and not allow too many big plays...one plus is that their special teams has done an excellent job of giving the offense a short field to work with...they've got a lot spread on the table this week...just hope they can eat it all...GO BEARS!!!

yeah that really #### when the top team can "pick" who they want in an upset...that's why i'm pulling gwater in an upset over the buckeyes...it's gonna be a much closer game than everyone expects but in the end gilmer might just have too much firepower no matter how good or bad their defense decides to play...not downing my city just being realistic

Everybody wants to talk about the tatum game and how the bears struggled when all it took was one tackle on a punt return and we're tied with gilmer for first in district...and Davis is one of,if not the fastest, players in the district,i'm looking forward to a good game.You were right about the tackling issue, but i think if gladewater can come out and play a nice game fundamentally along with the explosiveness they always show on special teams every week,they have a fair chance against the buckeyes...it'll be a good rivalry being restored...may the best team win
