  1. Well said. Comrade Trump will be gone, so Russia will have to go back to their old ways of dealing with the US. The only thing Trump has done with N. Korea is to normalize relations because all you have to do is flatter him, and he'll give you anything you want. The United States foreign policy has been a total disaster under this administration. Now we'll treat our allies like Germany, France and Canada like allies and stop getting drug around the nose by Russia and Turkey.
  2. Lindale is probably close to 7,000 people but that really doesn't tell the story of the school district. LISD also includes Hideaway Lake which has a population over 3,000 and parts of Swan/Tyler is in the school district. Lindale is still rapidly growing, so it's going to be a challenge to stay in 4A over the long haul.
  3. Lindale always seems to play up or down to the competition outside of a few exceptions lately. I think it'll be a close game early and Lindale pulls away in the 4th.
  4. If you never heard of any of this before Obama, then you must have had your head in the sand. People have tried for decades to get the name of R.E.L off of schools across America and yes including here in Tyler. Maybe if these schools and America taught the real history of America, then people wouldn't have a problem with these statues, instead of glorifying these people who committed treason against the United States. You have textbooks used to teach our students in Texas, that "workers" from Africa were immigrants, instead of calling them enslaved human beings. These slaves were chained, forced to work long hours, were beaten, raped, murdered with little to no compensation. How about some statues of the slaves that fought back or the people in the south that spoke out against this inhuman behavior? The people against the name change and for the Confederacy are quick to point out that we're erasing history, but lets tell all of the history instead of glorifying these murders, rapists and torturers . There is a place for REL and these other traitors against America and that place is a museum. That way the people that really want to learn about the history of the Civil War and slavery can actually learn about the good and bad of these people, and not some statue that was most likely put up to promote supremacy or used to invoke fear.
  5. Were you at the game? If so it's not so unrealistic. Don't get me wrong I'll give the HP kids credit for coming back because they aren't the ones throwing the flags. HP had the ball down by 21 to start the fourth and they scored on that drive. However the next couple JT drives were ended by very suspect penalties, even after watching video replay the calls were very tick tak or out right terrible. I can honestly say every big play JT had in the fourth quarter was called back because of a penalty. If you're in 2nd and long and 3rd and long all quarter, then you're more likely to turn the ball over and punt. Believe what you want to believe, but the refs had a major outcome on this game. Could JT have done more? of course. However that doesn't change the fact the refs where out right cheating.
  6. I'm not one to blame to refs for a loss or blame the coaches often, but the biased officiating was on full display here today. The refs interjected themselves into the game every single time John Tyler had a big play and it would put them in a second or third in long and that's why the interceptions happened. Those calls changed the flow of the John Tyler offense and made it obvious passing down. If you weren't there you had no clue to how biased the refs were. I have no problem admitting when a beats my team, but you're talking nonsense if you don't think the refs played a major role in the outcome of this game. I'll give credit to the Scots for making the plays that they made, but they don't have a chance of winning this game without the help of the refs.
  7. Lindale's three non district games Forney Kaufman Van
  8. No way Lindale lost 40-50 students. That's a growing school district and they probably gained a 100 students since last realignment. I'm shocked at the numbers at a lot schools in East Texas this go around. A lot of fudging going on.
  9. Lindale's Schedule order not sure Kaufman Forney Van Terrell Gladewater Corsicana Ennis Nacodoches Jacksonville Whitehouse
  10. The same reason some have Lindale and Whitehouse going to Royse City and Texas High.
  11. Chapel Hill has a legit chance to move up, so that would change the complextion of things, if that were to happen Chapel Hill Whitehouse Lindale Jacksonville Sulphur Springs Greenville Terrell not likely but an option Lufkin Nacogdoches Marshall Hallsville Pine Tree Texas High Mount Pleasant
  12. From Matt Stepp Lindale reported 1193. They'll probably stay 5A, but that put them on the bubble just a bit.
  13. You mentioned something about flushing something down the toilet earlier. I think you're the one smoking something if you think JT hasn't been on the football map. Most here or anywhere for that matter, hardly know anything about Ennis football. JT has been on the national map for a long time for high school football.
  14. I've been to Lindale's stadium a few times over the last few years and wondered why both sides didn't match. It's still a nice stadium though. I'd rank it way above Whitehouse lol.
  15. Great game! Bittersweet for me as I have longtime friends and family for both teams. I do have a question as to why Lindale's visitors side is different from the home side? The stadium would look great with a video board and mathching stands. As far as the game goes Lindale had their chance, but took the foot off the pedal. You could see John Tyler boys get confidence and begin to make plays late in the game. JT is going to be a dangerous team once the younger boys grow up. I hope people keep writing them off this year, because each game I think you'll see a big improvement.
  16. Lufkin has around 38,000 people that's still a very small town. Yes Lufkin is bigger than most of the towns on this site, but Lufkin is country living. Tyler has over 100,000 people and offers things that Lufkin can't provide, and Lindale is a 10-15 minute drive from Tyler. I'm positive Lufkin is a great, but quit acting like it's some huge town or a huge school district. I have no dog in this fight as I actually root for JT, REL, Lindale, and Whitehouse. I lived in Tyler for ten years and have family and friends that have kids in all those districts. If you give me a choice I would rather live in Lindale over Lufkin as it's closer to Tyler. Lufkin is in the middle of nowhere.
  17. So Lindale is backwoods? I'm from the Dallas area and I consider Lindale closer to civilization than I do Lufkin. Lindale is a few mins from Tyler and not too long of a drive to Dallas. Lufkin is in the boondocks. It's funny reading Lufkin has turned into some kind of booming metropolis. I'm guessing you must have an Applebee's in town or something like that.
  18. Lindale should be able to hold onto the victory about one minute left and they have the ball.
