Most officials (not all) will simply say they officiate because they love the game! Making a little money is the bonus...Most (not all) will also say they are getting out because of unruly coaches that ignite the fans and players!

1. Little more money.... 2. Coaches behavior... That's it! Players and fans behave like the coach does. Simple

Lots of folks will say Flexbone Offense isn’t a good scheme when you are behind and that is correct! But here are the pros..if run right you will be out front or at least close when maybe you shouldn’t be. I like those odds! Then some will say the Spread doesn’t work in wind or bad weather.. so either way it’s a dynamic scheme that is hard to prepare for! I love it! 907

My personal opinion is folks attempt to run the Flex out of the Gun for 2 reasons.... 1) Buy-In from the kids since all kids these days want to be part of "Spread/Gun" type of offense 2) Convince School Board Members/Hiring Committee that you are a "Spread" guy. (How many times in an interview have you been asked "Are you a spread guy?") Now are there folks that have effective offenses doing this? Yes.. Gunter comes to mind but I still contend they run more "I-formation type of scheme plus Midline.. and a little Triple. Just my thoughts! 907

To be honest with you, I just looked at some Maxpreps video from this year and did see some triple option, including midline triple. I was basing my opinion from years ago in the finals when they ran only midline double and jet sweeps. Stand corrected

I honestly don’t consider Waskom offense Flexbone.. they do run Double Slot with a Little Midline but really I call it a “Jet Offense” Not triple but they do run it well with some great kids!

Yea you did...but on a serious note, lots of coaches get their opportunity after someone was unjustly let go. I don't like it either. Been there done that. Stone is a good man from all accounts. My point is "Blessed" if a coach such as "Josh F" or a "Rusty N" landed a job after someone was unfairly let go would you not congratulate him? It appears you have a personal connection with Stone. Small towns and lots of times, school boards, have agendas, are too impatient, and almost always across the board, not qualified to determine the quality of a coach.

Jamin Savell is the new guy in Bison Land! He was a standout athlete from Madisonville that played college football at Sam Houston State and Texas A&M Commerce. Recently he was the Offensive Coordinator at Willis and Shepherd. He has waited patiently for his first gig and will do a great job. Smart, innovative, tireless worker, and a true family man. Congratulations!
