  1. how can you say this when he is averaging 65 percent from the field in the playoffs.....65%!
  2. I can't believe that a White Oak fan is calling a fan of another school "arrogant". I don't care who you are...that's funny right there!!!!
  3. uh as i recall, 5 years ago tenaha won the state basketball champs in boys......
  4. isnt vonner the supt and sorenson the ad?
  5. Great game WO. Good luck this season. Hopefully, you guys will represent the district well in the playoffs.
  6. No one, besides EXILE and some Union Grove kids think UG even has a chance. All the pressure is squarely on White Oak to not only win, but win BIG. I believe the game will be close, and low scoring. If WO stops the UG running back...they will win. If UG stops the WO fullback...they will win. If both defenses stop the other offense, then it comes down to special teams and turnovers. It will be an old-fashioned game. If you come after 8:30...you might catch the fourth quarter!!! Good luck to both teams.
  7. I believe that Tatum is currently 0-2. Surely, you don't base your knowledge of football on the past accomplishments of teams. That would seem to be very narrow-minded, in my opinion, of course. I seem to remember when Kilgore was everybody's homecoming game...not now. Look at Whitehouse, what a change there. Jacksonville was once the toughest home game around...they are down right now. If you currently play...don't rest on the accomplishments of the past, and if you are a former player from successful past teams...don't expect every group of boys to reach your lofty goals. They all try as best as they can. Shelbyville is off to a great start...what happens from now on is completely up to them, regardless of what you or I think of their talent level.
  8. Hey Wally, this is Bruce. Good luck. You are one of the best basketball coaches I have ever been around. I hope you have continued success wherever you go. Are you gonna get your son to be your assistant?
  9. Not sure of their record at either the high school or the middle school, but they really played hard and it took everything we had to beat them. I think the freshman, at least should fare quite well in the new district.
  10. You couldn't be more right on, Pinecone. I know I join many others that will miss him dearly. My heart goes out to Ellen and the rest of Coach Patrick's immediate family.
  11. I suppose they are getting very close to selecting by now, if their goal was to have a hire by the feb. board meeting.
  12. Has anyone heard anything regarding the top end of 4A? It has to go up, or there will be too many schools in 5A (isn't that the general concensus?) I agree with the poster that stated that Whitehouse, Jacksonville and Lindale are in for some long travel time.
  13. Jville 8th B lost to Henderson 16-14. The Braves greatly improved throughout the season and won 2 of their last 3 ball games and played very competitively against a tough Henderson squad. Jville 8th A lost to Henderson in the last 51 seconds of the game on a 24 yard pass to the TE. On the ensuing drive Jville had a pass intercepted. The Braves finished the District season at 5-2. It was a great year with very exciting, competitive games throughout. Hopefully, after a great off season and track season, we will have one of the districts best freshmen squads. To all the other teams in the district, it was fun. I wish the best of luck to all those injured this season, and pray they make a speedy and successful recovery. We all know that now it becomes a race to prepare them for their first high school season. Congratulations to those thast won district, and to those who didn't win a game...hey, it's junior high. As long as they got better every game and learned technique and fundamentals, they can still look forward to later success.
