  1. Just because 9-5A DI said NO, doesn't mean the UIL won't put Lufkin there. No one wants Lufkin there and then give up a possible playoff spot, they don't want to travel to Lufkin to play either. Same difference with the UIL making a nonsense move to put Lufkin traveling to three schools South of Ft Worth. Not good for Tyler either, and they are 3-4 hours round trip closer than Lufkin. No one wants Lufkin, 7-5A DI, they didn't want Lufkin because of the same long 7-8 hour round trips, they all voted unanimously to let Lufkin petition out. Not sure if 11-5A DI is in play or not, they may vote against Lufkin too. LOL - Just put us in an East Texas DII, we are playing almost all 5A DII teams already in all the other sports. This is just a mess.
  2. Lufkin won't be there, they will be over in Region III where they belong. Anyone think HP moves to 6-5A ,and then W Mesquite and N Mesquite move to 7-5A?
  3. Glad to see this news from Matt Stepp. Hope they can work out something respectable, even 11-5A DI looks like a possibility if they move Crosby from 11-5A DI in with their rival Barbers Hill in 9-5A DI. Then Lufkin could possibly move into 11-5A DI. Don't care which district, either one will do over driving my life away going North.
  4. No problem, not much difference, except HP has not yet formed their phycological block over Lufkin like Longview has done over Quick and staff. You guys get to play DeSoto in first couple of rounds, no cake walk either.!
  5. Sorry, Lufkin really got screwed in this deal for the 200 mile plus mile travel trips in 7-5A DI, when they could have easily placed Lufkin South in district 9-5A DI or 11-5A DI, and traveled just 90-130 miles instead. Not great for Tyler either, but they are much closer to DFW than Lufkin, and Cleburne, Joshua and Burleson are all directly South of Ft Worth. No where close to Lufkin, anyone checked a map on that one?, someone at the UIL has a misconception of time and space between Lufkin and those schools. You can bet your bottom dollar too, that HP, Cleburne, Joshua and Burleson, even Midlothian, don't want to travel to Lufkin to play.
  6. Don't think that at all, however add in the abilities of our current OC and OLC, we Lufkin fans, are always standing on Quick sand with those guys.
  7. For the Lufkin fan's it doesn't matter at this point one way or another. Haven't made the playoffs in 3 years, what happens in non district never seems to translate to district play. I think we were 3-0 going into district the last two years, then reality. Longview is a reality check, then Nacogdoches and whoever else out of Tyler Legacy, Marshall, Tyler or AMC would not surprise me.
  8. Haven't seen anything from the Lufkin side of things. Sort of fill in the blank with what has been posted here, with Longview - Week1 and Nacogdoches - Week #3. Need to see what district we end up, 7 or 8 teams. Not sure if A&M Consolidated or Tyler legacy stay in play or not. Don't anticipate much new movement on the the part of the Panther leadership.
  9. We can make and offer or a trade. We have an OC and OLC here that will knock you socks off.
  10. You guys are sounding just like Lufkin fans the past 10 years, exactly the same phases and thoughts, and nothing has gotten better here, in fact it's worse now because they can't even make the playoffs with good talent. As much as last nights loss hurts your fan base, we fans in Lufkin would gladly trade you at this point to have the winning Longview has been enjoying the past 10 years. We have been complaining about Quick and staff's short falls forever now, but they are not going anywhere anytime either. By the way we have an OC we would gladly let you have to help out King with play calling. LOL
  11. The topic is best RB in your schools history, so I will keep it at that request. Lufkin The more recent in last 30 years, I would say Denvis Manns (1993-1994) New Mexico State and Dallas Cowboys Jorvorskie Lane (2002-2004) Texas A&M, Tampa Bay and Miami Jamarcus Walker (2010-2011) SFA Kedren Young (2021-2023) Notre Dame Going to add Isaiah Phillips (2017) ULM, although he was only a RB his senior season he was phenomenal Have to include Ray Harper (1969-1970), a tough downhill RB who played at Baylor. That should cover it, lots of records with Lufkin for those guys.
  12. Valid point, just save that $100 for tickets, gas and eats, the 5 hour round trip time. Game free online, when over, already home baby!
  13. Yep, just found out they are selling 1000 tickets here, cash or check only Wed - Thurs. Then at the gate in Longview Friday, credit card only.
  14. All I care about is how do Panther Fans get tickets to this game. What online link does Longview ISD use?
  15. Quit twisting stuff. Your the best at it. No one said Lobo was not by the book.
  16. Thought this game might be interesting before the season. Tyler winning last week surprised me, so unless Marshall has found a way to play better defense this week, it's probably going to be a long evening in Marshall. I think Longview is favored anywhere from 23-30 points by various sources.
  17. There is no way Lufkin is larger than Longview, we turned in 2199 last go around and Longview turned in 2192. Have a good friend who works in the Longview ISD that says Longview High is very near 2300 student this week. You guys will need to come up with a few more part time working 1/2 students to get under the cut off this time. Everyone knows how this works.
  18. I have to go with the Panthers this year. Hate to pick a score, I'm never right, but I'll say 42-7
  19. You may be correct. The history I found on it did not designate where they played. I am positive NAC has defeated Lufkin in Lufkin somewhere down the line, but it has been a long time ago. If 1982 was the last time, that's 41 years ago, a couple generations have come and gone.
  20. I'll just say the Panther teams of the last few years are not playing in this game. This group is different, a young feisty bunch, I'll just wait and see what they can do. This Lufkin football program still has much to prove considering the last couple of disappointing years. Still, the Panthers did beat Legacy in Tyler last year 31-23, and I believe this years group are a much better team than last.
  21. There is no disagreement here from many Lufkin fans watching this happen these last few years. Many of them are ready for a new direction in leadership. Yes, word does get on the streets pretty quick, yet it's funny the leadership don't see themselves as failures.
  22. It all really doesn't matter to me. What you think doesn't matter. I don't really care one way or another what these players decide to do. It's not in my wheelhouse, and someone may or may not benefit from a transfer. Nothing is guaranteed, I think the UIL has made transfers some easier than in the past. I'm already tired of talking about the whole mess, wish I had never responded, just ready to go on down the line with whatever players are on the roster. That's the hand we are dealt and have to live with it. We have our own set of issues over here that we have been dealing with for some time now. No playoffs the past two years and very little playoff success even longer.
  23. Yea, it is whatever it is. Too close to the season to worry about a player or players who want to be elsewhere. Your right, you can't compare 2A to 5A DI, it's quite a bit different. Hey, Lufkin has a darn good team this year, their playing in the toughest 5A district in the State, so don't jump that horse too quick on Lufkin. Happy that Corrigan Camden football is on the upswing, I'll be keeping an eye to see how that Pro Style works for you guys. Does CC ISD have some sort of open enrollment for transfers? I thought a guardian still needs to live, work or reside in a district for that to happen. Anyway, good luck, enjoy our players if you got them, we will just give some others an opportunity to get a lot more playing time. It's all good.
  24. The LB you speak of started on the Freshman team last year, he is now back at Lufkin. Sometimes a parent thinks their kid is ready for the big time in a 5a DI program when the coaches think they need a little more seasoning on the JV. Not aware of any other players you spoke of, still checking. I've been told ALL Varsity starters from last year are at LHS and on the Panther Roster. How does it benefit a player to transfer from 5A DI football to 2A? Doesn't matter one way or another, the guys who want to be there are getting ready now, if their is an opening, it's just another opportunity for someone else.
