  1. Looks almost exactly like the New Caney ISD (Randall Reed) 9000 seat stadium built 6 -7 years ago. Must be same architect and contractors. Melissa is up in that North of Dallas urban sprawl with McKinney right on up Hwy 75 toward Sherman, which is really growing too. I remember when Frisco, Prosper and Little Elm were nothing but small towns in those areas. Now they are all 5A and 6A schools with nice state of the art stadiums.
  2. I hope Lufkin gets out of the McKinney North, Forney, West and North Mesquite loop. I'm not overjoyed about Lancaster, at least they are further South in the Metro-plex. Playing South has been a little easier travel in the past for all extracurricular travel purposes.
  3. Tyler High girls beat Lufkin girls 52-43 in the bi district round. Lufkin boys won @ New Caney Porter 56-25 to finish district play. Hallsville defeated Longview 50-43. Lufkin and Hallsville will play at Timpson next Tuesday.

  7. Lufkin 84 Huntsville 50 Nacogdoches 53 @ Kingwood Park 51 OT NAC is now a solid 2nd seed and KWP 3rd seed. Don't sell Kingwood Park short at 15-18. They took their lumps early playing a bunch of 6A teams in non district, those guys are very well coached and fundamentally sound. Nacogdoches has overcome their early season injuries and are playing the best I've seen them all year. A very athletic bunch. New Caney Porter 50 Dayton 36 New Caney Porter now has the edge over Huntsville for the 4th seed. Lufkin played without two starters tonight, and other starters played fewer minutes, also played a JV center who had just moved up about 1/2 of the game.

  14. Lufkin boys beat Dayton on the road 60-21. Lufkin now 29-3 and 6-0 in district. Dayton 9-21 and 0-6 in district. Lufkin girls win at home over Dayton 62-40, Lufkin now 16-11 and 5-2 in district. Nacogdoches Boys defeat Huntsville on the road 73-31, Nac moves to (18-11 and 4-2) in district, Huntsville (4-16 and 2-4). Kingwood Park (14-16 and 4-2) defeated New Caney Porter (9-20 and 2-4) by 36-33.
  15. True, point taken, however they won't lose their entire starting line up. Brown is a starter although Nac didn't get to experience the talent of this 6'7" young Freshman . They have played without him for a little over 3 weeks now and have missed his 14 -15 points per game. I think the entire district will be better next year.
  16. Lufkin's freshmen are undefeated and the Lufkin JV has only one loss this year. They will return Soph Marcellus Parks and Fresh Aaron Brown to the Varsity next year. These next two groups will be just as good, if not better than than the 2022-2023 team.

  18. The computer pick Lobos by 20. Stepp's pick Longview by 18. That really sounds like an upset alert! LOL
  19. I listened to Tep and Stepp last night and Greg Tepper said he had Longview a 20 point favorite, and Matt Stepp said he thought Lufkin may could keep the game close in the first half, then the Lobos pull away in the 2nd half. Saying it's an upset special is a bunch of hype on DCTF part. https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2022/09/13/tep-stepp-podcast-week-4-preview?ref=home_feature_article
  20. Prayers for Cooper and his family. The Lord is the Greatest Physician, may is healing be upon him.
