Jasper is looking good this spring with a 14-2 record and the only losses coming from Vidor and two complete games from Lamar bound lefty Trae Hester. The Dogs started the district season with wins over Carthage and Hudson with Sowell pitching both games. He will get a rest as tournaments are over and Phillips, Burleson will get some district action soon. Dogs best trait so far has been a stingy defense that limits runners and erases some after getting on.

Those Hillbillies have a pretty impressive wall of fame and playoff streak going back to 1994. This years post season run may be short but it will launch next years powerhouse team. The lefty was LOOSE last night but he can be nasty. We have a lot of youth on the field getting better every day. Good job Dogs with bases loaded several times and battling out of a jamb for an unexpected win. Every one in 18 3a still playing, district may have been tougher than some thought.
