Look always learning 64, he broke a bone on the side of his foot which has no effect on his career, no chance of hurting it worse, and most importantly, was cleared by his parents and 3 doctors to play. Don't you think that we took all of this into consideration before we even gave him an option to play? Alot of runners, training athletes etc break this small bone and are fine in 4-6 weeks. So yes you are right, you don't know the situation well, in fact, at all. His mechanics were not in jeopardy, he was just fighting thru pain without medication, without having an injection etc....And one more thing, after speaking to the doctors, speaking to him, the parents and his teammates, his college coach was the first person I spoke to about it all and he said that he admired him for being so gutsy and to take this summer and rest and be ready to let it loose in the fall. So it would be best for you to just stay out of the conversation at this point being you have no idea what's going on.

Thank you dog for your comments all year. Yes I did accept the High School Principal job so I'll still be around, just not as much on the diamond obviously. This is a great move for my wife and I especially with 90mph left-handed pitcher on the way (I hope right?). Anyways, it was a fun ride for the last 5 years and the program is still in great shape, trust me.

Ok another reason I hate coming on here is because of people who have no idea what they are talking about. I am his coach and YES his foot was/is broken. He spent a day at the hospital and two days at an orthopedic just to make sure it didn't need surgery, a cast, or anything else. He was a Senior who was going to play no matter what I or any doctor said. He tried as hard as he could for as long as he could with a brace so tight he could hardly get off the mound if you would have noticed. Douglass is a fine team with a bunch of great players and on that day made every play and deserved to win. All you had to do was be there and see a radar reading to know something wasn't right, but I guess you were too busy noticing he just had a sprained ankle. The kid had a tremendous career and will be pitching at Vernon College along with his teammate Jake Nash and Overton's Spencer Wright. Best of luck to all of them. with how young they are, and how much success they already have within the program, getting the modisette girl back, wow, everyone in 1a better watch out. i have a friend who saw them in the longview tourney, and said they could beat most of the 3 and 4a's that were there. harleton dropping to 1a too? wow, could be a great run for coach kniffen.

Cayuga vs. Yantis will be Tuesday, February 28th, at 7pm at Wagstaff (TJC). There will be no other games there on that evening. Orginally, this game was going to be part of a double-header, but it is no longer the case. Good luck to all.

wow, ya'll are bringing up memories i'm not sure if i remember...however, my boys say that i yell out things all the time at them that makes no sense and i don't remember those either...but edro, i do remember some lawnchair hecklers by our dugout and chances are, i zing-ed them a time or two...all in fun. and bayoubengal, we've actually perfected it now to where the hitters and runners don't even have to get signs, they just know what i'm thinking. its like osmosis, or some telepathic thing we work on ...the batting practice thing, yes, i can throw it and hit it, but you left out the part where i field it too and throw it around the horn...you don't believe me, go to youtube and watch domingo ayala. i'm just like him! lol

thank you dog for your credits, but i'll tell you why our kids have made the most of their time here: 1. we got rid of universal off-season and put in a true offseason that works, where kids benefit for their work that is specialized for whatever sport their in. for instance, we don't have our basketball kids throwing weights all over and maxing out on every weight in the fieldhouse during their season; our baseball kids are doing weights and conditioning baseball specific; our track kids are doing track specific things and yes, all of this at our tiny little school with only 5 coaches. we have a lot of talent yes, but that talent is raised to another level when they aren't just doing things to benefit 'football only.' and before we open that soapbox, i'm a football coach too, so is coach jenkins, so is coach holden and so on and so on and we love it to death. but when football is over, its over, besides you have hmmmm let's see all summer to do football stuff don't you? so instead, we focus on our next sports, and work those kids specifically for those sports. to me, that's a big chunk of our success. if you want to know how we are doing this, message me.

lol, good one rubberhammer. i still haven't figured that whole stopwatch thing out but i guess b-nut has some sort of sundial that predicts bat speed as well. the classic radar gun conversation, how many times do we have to talk about this? geeez...and baseballdog, no harm taken man, i get jabs all the time on here..wristbands, acting like a fool, etc...it goes with the territory man. anyways, johnson is a great pitcher who throws hard, so is holland, so is baker from carlisle, so is rich from lovelady, mccassland, the list goes on and on...there are several in this region who could be labeled as great throwers at our level. heck 80mph at the 1a level especially is a hard ball! so to answer your question about johnson mr. b-nut, he signed a junior college deal to pitch and went to countless one on one tryouts in the fall. yes, he was mid 80's everywhere he went and yes, he was 86-88 at a few of them. does this mean he is throwing 88 consistently today, don't know, we'll see. but stop taking jabs at a player you know nothing about. and everyone else, thanks for the kind comments about the team. we'll play hard, we'll play the right way..the region is loaded...i wish everyone a great year. we're scrimmaging tonight so i'll take my stopwatch and let everyone know tomorrow how hard all of my kids are throwing. i'm guessing with my stopwatch, which has a button missing, we'll top 90 more than once. gb
