  1. I think this is a great hire for my school. We as a community will support him. A former player and coach, he knows what it take to turn us around.
  2. The Corsicana ISD will have a board meeting tonight and announce who the next coach will be.
  3. Corsicana will always have talent. Yes, the demographics are different, but I know that we are better than 1-9 and 2-8. Call me delusional or spoiled if you want. Most of those losses were when we couldn't hold on to leads late in the game. We were just outcoached. There is still talent here but most of them are in the hallways. Hopefully the next coach can turn us into the right direction. These last four years have really been tough.
  4. The Corsicana Tigers has posted their AD/HFC position.
  5. Princeton is definitely going 6A. That enrollment number is way up. 5A Division I is likely for DeSoto. They no longer have open enrollment and numbers have drastically declined the past couple of years.
  6. Corsicana HC Hal Wasson announced his retirement today.
  7. I think this was a awesome hire for Marshall. I seen him first hand while he was in Ennis. Took a kid and made a quarterback out of him and won a championship. If I was a Maverick fan, I'd be excited too. JMO, he makes Marshall not only a contender in Region II, but also a championship contender.
  8. I had a source tell me that Athens and Corsicana will play in the preseason. We'll wait and see until February.
  9. They also got a player from Corsicana too.
  10. Lancaster might go 6A as well. It's going to be very close. I hope they don't though. If they stay, I'd for them to be in a district with Longview, Tyler, HP. IMO, the UIL didn't do Lancaster any favors by merging them with Dallas schools.
  11. Corsicana will remain 5A Division 2. As far as our current district, from a reliable source, North Forney and Royse City might go 6A. North Forney has a number of 2300.
  12. This is not a rebuilding year for us. We had returning starters back on both sides of the ball. WH just punched us in the mouth. Plain and simple. And with our starting quarterback out 2-3 weeks, its going to be a tough out going into district play this week.
  13. I just called The Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco. They will have theirs on June 30th. So they probably not in stores yet.
  14. To copy what LoboFan07 said, I don't know where to start with Corsicana. To me, I'd have to go with the 1986 team, even though we only played 12 games. We were ranked #1 in the state, won every game by 2 touchdowns or more. We had everything. Lost to McKinney in the 2nd round, 24-22. they beat us the previous year in 1985, 9-7. McKinney went on to state only to lose to West Orange Stark. But there were other Corsicana teams that could have won state. (1982)- This team went to state and lost to Fort Bend Willowridge, 22-17. Remember Thurman Thomas?? Enough said. (1984)- Corsicana lost to Denison, 49-21 in the quarterfinals. The HC was a former Corsicana assistant. Denison went on to win state. (1991)- Corsicana lost to A&M Consolidated, 14-12. A&M went on to win state. (1994)- Corsicana lost to Stephenville 28-6 in the state semifinals. They were really talented. By far the biggest HS team I had seen in my life. (1997)- Corsicana lost to Texas City, 37-34 in the title game. We were down, 30-13 and rallied to take the lead with 3:14 left. We were that close. I nearly died after that game. LOL. Longview fans might remember that game because it was right after ya'll played Katy. (2000)- Corsicana lost to Denton Ryan in the regional final. They scored on a quarterback sneak as time expired. Some people said he didn't get in. Ryan went on to lose to Bay City in title game. (2004)- Corsicana lost to Dallas Lincoln, 28-21 in the 3rd round. Lincoln goes on to state only to lose to Kilgore. (2011) Corsicana lost to Aledo, 68-28 in the state semifinals. Jake Bishop, Johnathan Gray, Hail Mary at the end of 2nd quarter, and then scored on 2nd half kickoff. Of course, Aledo went on to win state. If some or all of these teams I mentioned had good fortune, we'd be talked about how Corsicana is one of the all time great programs. I know we are in the Top 10 in most wins, but we don't have enough state titles to show for it (1963 and 1968).
  15. District 8 5A Division II Crandall Corsicana Ennis Forney Greenville North Forney Royse City Sulphur Springs Corsicana non district schedule The Colony Frisco Lebanon Trail Whitehouse
  16. My wish list for Corsicana: 1. Waxahachie (Should bring this rivarly back, maybe with Waxahachie's growth is why the rivarly ended.) 2. Lancaster 3. Any Frisco school that plays their games at The Star.
  17. You forgot to add Waco University to District 5. Unless you had them going south. But a district with Aledo, Corsicana, and Ennis??? Damn, that would be brutal!!
  18. Out of the 10 Frisco schools, 7 will go Division 1, the three, Frisco, Lebanon Trail, and Memorial will be Division II.
  19. Rock Hill and Creekview probably be in a district with Frisco schools.
  20. That district is what I'm predicting. Why would that district wouldn't make sense to us (Corsicana)??
