  1. I heard Lindale hired Scotty Nichols from Brownwood as their new baseball coach. Anyone know anything about him?
  2. I was working in Winona that summer and was passing through there minutes after it happened. It was a horrible wreck. The story I had been told was that he was driving back from Detroit after visiting his friend Billy Simms. He drove straight through the night and fell asleep at the wheel. It happened around 7:30 in the morning so I have a hard time believeing it was alcohol related. Never heard that.
  3. 1st team pitcher-Josh Turley/Texas High 2nd team pitcher-Trevor Peterson/Hallsville 3rd team pitcher-Tyrell Jenkins/Henderson 3rd team pitcher-Randal Fant/Texas High 1st team shortstop-Brett McAfee/Pine Tree 3rd team shortstop-Christian Stringer/Hallsville 1st team outfield-Slade Heathcott/Texas High 2nd team outfield-Justin Copeland/Lindale CONGRATULATIONS
  4. I started this thread by simply asking if anyone had heard who had applied. Another thread on this topic simply stated that Simmons had resigned. All I was looking for was anyone who had info on potential coaches and all that needed to be said on the other was "Good luck to all." That would have been great but the immediate replies were either digs at the parents and players or "poor coach SImmons got a raw deal." NOBODY ASKED FOR THAT! Every negative post was started by a Simmons supporter. You guys are the ones embarrassing Lindale baseball and making the community look bad. Every school and community has its issues and you guys chose to air ours to the world. Of course the parents will respond. SO it sounds to me like the wimpy know-it-alls who need a group hug are the Simmons supporters. Think about the school and the next years team and get over it. Everyone else is ready and has been ready to move on, so DROP IT. Back to my original question...Has anyone heard anything?
  5. hey toohott thanks for the heads up! Now I can consider the source and just ignore him!
  6. Hey ballboy21...what is your problem? I made several posts trying to stop the negative comments and move on but you and your cronies keep popping back up with little digs against the parents and players. If those posts will stop, I won't have to reply but if not...I'm not one to just stand by so good luck to you if you think I am gonna keep my mouth shut. As fan59 said, Can we just get on with being excited over a new coach! As for me embarrassing Lindale baseball, the embarrassment was on the field this season but that is over so let's MOVE ON. Better yet, why don't you flag the adminastrator and have this thread pulled?
  7. Fair enough...I am not a fan of either, I don't have a kid on the team but, being a Lindale grad I only want what is best for the school. I witnessed it first hand too and both parties were guilty. If you read the ORIGINAL original post all it stated was that he resigned. Nothing negative about him. The immediate replies were how he got shafted and how the parents and players were horrible. I have only stood up for the parents because it was not all their fault. What we had was embarrassing and it takes two to tango. As for his son,...great kid and I feel for him through this. I feel he was put in some bad situations last year. One of the few games I made last year was the Texas High senior night game. That was a nightmare for him that could have been avoided by better planning. It is little things like that that turned alot of the parents against him. That is what I was hinting at in my post you replied to. Some of these posts turned ugly and that is ashame. Lindale is a great school with great kids, parents, coaches and teachers.
  8. It would be okay if the new coach has two sons, just as long as he doesn't THINK they are D1/Pro Prospects everything will be okay.
  9. "Im surprised none of the parents have submitted their resume. They seem to know best." Sorry but that just sounded like a bash to me. Anyway, I heard the Mets let their manager go...darn those Mets parents.
  10. I thought all of the uninformed and unnecessary jabs at the parents were over when the other thread was pulled. I guess not. Its kinda funny how Lindale has a very low turnover rate. Meador, Spann, Klien, Pruitt (list goes on) were all there when I was there. Surratt was there for 20 years so he must not have had a problem. They have all dealt with the same parents as Simmons. So anyone who gets on here bashing the kids and the parents either don't know the whole story or they must be on Simmons Christmas list. So, can we move on and support the team and the new coach? With that said, good luck and CONGRATUALATIONS to whoever is lucky enough to get this job. Original ???? I have heard that numerous people have applied, many from 4A and 5A schools in the Metroplex. I just have not heard any names.
  11. Yes he can pitch..i dont know if he will or not this summer due to letting his arm rest, but I do know that his arm is better and you will def see him on the mound next year
  12. Initial report from MRI was a bone spur and or bone chips. He opted to wait until end of season for surgery. The scoping revealed no spur or chips but a build up of soft tissue in the joint. Doc said it kept the elbow too swollen and tight to handle the stress of pitching without causing more damage. Copeland said the doctor got it all and there is no lasting damage and it will be 100% for next season.
  13. Lindale will give everyone in the district a run for their money next year regardless of what anyone thinks!! They have alot of talent and will have good pitching coming back next year...Copeland will be back pitching again as Lindale's #1..he couldnt pitch this year but all problems are fixed now...should be interesting to say the least
