  1. I can"t believe that Winns "threw" two passes much less touchdown passes. Good job!
  2. North Teaxs signed two East Texas kids in their 2011 class. Lairamie Lee, DB from Chapel Hill and Cooper Jones,QB from Lone Oak.
  3. Im sure that excuse was used as not to burn bridges. Coach Finney will want to be a head coach again and is smart enough not to call out a person or persons that caused him make his decision. Sometime a coach finds out no matter how hard you work, that the powers that be make it impossible to win.
  4. You know the Dallas newspaper won't write anything about Lone Oak because we are to far east of town. No one on Smoakey thinks Lone Oak is in east Texas so they get no respect at all. Ol'e franksnbeans won't give Lone Oak any love on the Old Coach. So after a lot of thought I think Lone Oak must be an orphan, the redheaded step child, the fat kid nobody likes. If your not busy come to Commerce Thursday night and watch two well coached teams play and maybe the Buffs can gain a little respect from some of you "east" Texas boys.
  5. I watched Cooper last Friday and I believe they are a better team than the team Lone Oak faced in game 5. The RB was very good but the running of the QB Heuy against Harlton was a threat that was not seen in the first game with Lone Oak. I am still not certain that Cooper has enough offense to score with Lone Oak but added running of Heuy will help. Lone Oak can put 4 very good receivers in routes with a 6'-4" D-1 QB throwing to them. When you add a running back with great speed to the mix it is a lethal combination. I think the score will be Lone Oak 49 Cooper 21.
  6. Saturday 11:00 in LK? Is this right?
  7. Scurry has a good RB but Lone Oak has far to many offensive weapons for Scurry's defense to handle. 56-14 Lone Oak
  8. The Cowboys are the most penalized team in the NFL but if they can hold down the penalties and play at the new Cowboys Stadium so they have the home field advantage I will take the Cowboys and give +3.
  9. Thanks for the input. I hope Lone Oak's "D" can contain that speed you are talking about. I think the best way to beat the Buffaloes is to keep their offense off the field as much as you can. Also Lone Oak has got to stop the turnovers that happened the last two games. I think this is going to be a great match up. I know that Lone Oak needs to face a good team before district starts. Good luck to both teams.
  10. Well we have two undefeated teams meeting this week at Lone Oak when the Buffaloes host the Cooper Bulldogs. Lone Oak's senior QB Cooper Jones has surpassed 1000 yds passing and 12 TD passes in the first 4 games. His favorite target is senior Hunter Cash who had 5 catches for 160 yds and 2 Tds and kick off return for a TD against Paris Chisum. I need some information on the Cooper Bulldogs. I know the senior QB Huie is a good one that has been a starter for at least 3 years and they have a speedy RB named Montrel Roberts that gained 131 yds against Prairiland. Tell us something more about the Bull Dogs. Should be a good one, how do you see the outcome.
  11. Better get there early. Allen has the worst 5A stadium in Texas. Can't wait to see the new one.
  12. QB throws well and has a couple of good recievers. Running game needs some work but as a whole pretty good team and well coached.
  13. Lone Oak Sr. QB Cooper Jones Sr. WR Hunter Cash Sr. DL/OL Keeton Smith
  14. Good job Alba. I am proud for you and 13AA you represent. This Lone Oak fan salutes the kids and the best Coach in the district.
  15. I hear AG lost to Caddo Friday. Lone Oak won against Quitman Saturday. Does anyone know how the Winnsboro game came out. I believe if Winnsboro won then we have a 3 way tie for second going into the last game. Can anyone confirm this.
  16. I was told that Caddos 3pt shooting specialist has quit to go baseball, can anyone confirm this. I also would like to know what Grand Saline did to beat Alba? That was one of the most surprising scores of this season to me. I know Lone Oak finishes with Caddo, Quitman and Winnsboro, all will be tough games. Who does your team finish with in these last 3 games?
  17. Alba may sure win this district. I'm not sure we are talking about the same game though. The post man from Lone Oak scored most of the points. He did have some turnovers but nothing like some of the guards. I think he could have scored more but some ball handlers don't know when a post man is open. Just because a defender is standing behind the post does not mean he is not open. I think it is just a lack of basketball IQ.
  18. Alba out played Lone Oak in every phase of the game tonight. I bet Lone Oak did not shoot 20% from the field and only went to the line about 5 or 6 times. I'm not sure if they had shot 100% from the field that Lone Oak put up enough shots to win anyway. They love to dribble the ball around the perimeter until they turn it over or on the rare ocassion they do get a decent shot off no one cares about rebounding. I think their guards are scared to shoot the basketball. How about setting a pick to get a nice jump shot for someone. Not to take anything away from Alba they played great. Very well coached.
  19. After making the first round thru district play I consider Winnsboro to be the best total team that I have seen. Caddo is next and Alba after that. Alba plays the best team ball but not as athletic as Caddo or Winnsboro. I sure don't see anyone one this district making round 2 in the playoffs unless they get a very lucky draw. I am from Lone Oak so I will let others rate the Lone Oak team. Good luck to everyone in the second half of district play.
  20. Lone Oak boys beat Cooper last night 69 to 56.
  21. One of the top QBs in the state next year will be Lone Oaks Cooper Jones. At 6'4" and about 190 this kid has a a great arm and better than average running ability.
  22. I would put Lone Oak's Jr. quarterback Cooper Jones in this conversation. Jones is 6-4 190lbs with a big arm. He has thrown for over 1900 yards this season and he had one rushing game of 225 yards. This is his first full year at quarterback after having a 1000 yard receiving season last year. Keep an eye one this kid he has been nominated for player of the week 3 times that I know of this year.
