  1. The first half was almost an exact inverse of last years game with All Saints fumbling inside their own 5 and later throwing a pick 6. #10 ran the ball well at QB for Carlisle. As expected, The Indians pass rush pressured All Saints all night. Save for the one isolated 1-on-1, our receivers were shut down. Wish we would have given you a better game. Good luck in district.
  2. All Saints doesn't have blazingly fast recievers, but they do have 4 very good ones. It will take more than two quick corners to shut them down. I am more concerned about pass protection versus Carlisle's quick D line. Carlisle's offense was impressive against ME. Lots of different looks; shifting and motion. AS will need to put big points on the board to stay in the game.
  3. Carlisle won 23-13 last year. All Saints jumped out in front with a pick 6 and a TD off a Carlisle fumble. After that Carlisle outplayed All Saints for the next 3 quarters. Both teams are returning most of thier starters, though the AS QB graduated. All Saints has 6 players out with injuries, 2 starters. All Saints is running a new offense this year and has put up big numbers against Timpson and Overton, but will have trouble with Carlisle's speed. I predict a fairly high scoring game. My homer side thinks we can win, but I know the odds are low and we will have to play mistake free. Carlisle is good prep for us as Dallas Christian and Brook Hill will have speed as well.
  4. If you saw clips of the scrimmage, then you would know there were no refs. You have a clip(s) of All Saints doing chop blocks, let see them. I watched it all, several times, and did not see any AS chop blocks. Cut blocks in the free zone are legal for linemen. Chop blocks are dangerous and never legal. You do know the difference don't you? The NFHS defines a chop block as "a combination block by two or more teammates against an opponent other than the runner, with or without delay, where one of the blocks is low (at the knee or below) and one of the blocks is high (above the knee)." I didn't include illegal cut blocks or blocks in the back (at least one well after the whistle) by ME in that video, but I could have, there were more than a few. I hope you are right about ME coaches not condoning that type of play. To be fair, one of the chop blocks (the last shown in the video) was flagged by an ME coach. I find it difficult to believe, however, that at least 5 different linemen decided to disregard thier coach's blocking scheme and coordinate chop blocks on thier own with a teammate. Thier moves looked practiced.
  5. All Saints 34 Timpson 6 Overton up next for All Saints.
  6. There were no refs. Don't know why. That, and the ME coaches, was the problem.
  7. Wouldn't be so sure about that. All Saints had only 3 seniors on last year's team. Timpson will be playing the same group that beat them 23-15 last year.
  8. Mt. Enterprise opponents take note. This is footage from last week's scrimmage. https://youtu.be/GEagc1gswvw
  9. Brook Hill by 10. Dallas Christian and Frisco Legacy put 35 on the board against Grace. BH has a better offense than either of those. Grace can score, but not, I think, the 45 they'll need to beat BH.
  10. Beckville's wins have been close. UG is a much better team than anyone Beckville has faced. UG by 2-3 TDs.
  11. The homer says All Saints, the frontal cortex says Carlisle.
  12. Last I heard All Saints JV is playing Carlisle again next Thursday. There was talk earlier in the week about swapping around with some other teams, but as far as I know, nothing has come of it.
  13. Yes, by all means, don't worry about these guys. The biggest problem I saw with Overton was not their tackling, but conditioning. With most of the starters playing on both sides of the ball, they simply wore down in the 2nd half. #20 running behind the big o-line ground out 5-10 yards every carry while they were fresh. Youth was not a factor, both teams have 4 seniors on the roster. All Saints had 4 sophs and a freshman starting on D. All Saints' O is very basic. Teams won't see the complete package though till district. That said, judging by Carlisle's JV, All Saints will have all it can handle next week.
  14. All Saints was 1-9 last year, playing with predominantly sophomores and freshmen. Injuries bug hit hard on a team without much depth. Only 4 seniors on the roster this year, including the speedy QB. D looked good last week, holding Timpson to 21 yards rushing. O looked sluggish, learning a new system. Switched from a shotgun spread last year, to a (mostly) Delaware wing T. I haven't seen Overton play, but just looking at MaxPreps, they seem to have some beef up front.
  15. The biggest mistake most coaches make (and it shows most easily at small schools), is forcing their system on to whatever players they have, rather than adapting a system to the available talent.
  16. Don't see any link to the broadcast on www.pineywoodssports.com
  17. Definitely a re-building year for Grace. Clayton is a thoroughbred, but Grace is young at QB, and from what I've seen their passing game will fall off this year.

  19. Neil Young's latest album...Psychedelic Pill. His best since Rust Never Sleeps.
  20. Might want to proof the website when you have the 'oppertunity'.
  21. Haven't seen Spring Hill or Gilmer play this year, but I say the Hill's will battle it out for top dog along with Kilgore. Bullard and Gladewater will have to fight to make it to the dance. Chapel Hill Spring Hill Kilgore Bullard Gladewater Henderson Gilmer
